Wireless wires?
Thanks for the info. I won't ditch the DVD collection yet.

Never get rid of what works. :) We still have a ton of Disney VHS movies. There is no way that I am going to ditch those & try to get them all on DVD.

Actually, when DVD first came out we made a rule to never replace what we already own. :rotfl: So, no DVD movies if we have it on VHS. The same will be true of the wireless wired computer download system.
We will probably have VHS until we can't buy/replace a player anymore.

I had to reread that list of prizes again. Then I told DH we would need to be making more day trips to the parks.

What I am very interested in HOW they are going to be giving them away at the parks. I think it would be so great to be a cast member that was going around looking for the perfect family, imagine their faces when you tell them they have won something.

It's finally Friday and I am amazed at what a little cash will do. I came home yesterday to the pavers being replaced and all the pool equipment (pump, etc) delivered. It's really going to be finished!!

I'm not watching the show, but I can tell you I was teased horribly in elementry school....about my hair. It really was pumpkin orange back then and kids were SO cruel. Through life really, in high school I was a cheerleader, thought to be part of the popular crowd but I really wasn't.....I wasn't blonde or brunette and there were pretty much no other redheads in a senior class of 600+ . Guys definitely didn't go for the pale red head look in Florida.

I finally had to come to my own peace. And probably am still working on it. I cheered in college and the "pros" and I really never fit the mold of "that girl". I am different, I am what I am. I hope my grls can do the same. At least I know they won't be teased about red hair!

It's such a shame too. I honestly grew up with maybe two female great friends. I lived with guy roomies all through college.....it was SO much easier. I don't want my girls growing up thinking women are the enemy, but in actuality, they sometimes are.

Vanessa, I always found that I had more guy friends than girl friends even after college. I didn't have to mess with the BS as much with them. I didn't date but I always had friends to hang out with and in college go out with. It was great having all those chaperones at a frat party. LOL! One of them even asked his GF if I was at a party in our condo unit over the summer when he wasn't at school. When she said that she saw me with a cup in my hand he got upset & asked if I was drinking. :rotfl: They all knew me as the nondrinker and made sure that I had soda when we went out so that I could drive them home safely.

not anymore.... My DD had two girls in the neighborhood chase start hitting her off the bus and followed my DD home (we live about 200 feet or so from the bus stop) and DD entered the house through the garage where she grabbed a can of soda and shook it then opened it on the girls that where now in our driveway.

Well after that happened both started hitting and kicking her. Then after they left, they tormented DD from outside our house by throwing yogurt at our door and telling DD they would kill our dog. DD called me in tears. (unfortunately i worked 45 mins from home at that time.) i called the police and a very nice operator called my DD and talked to her until she felt comfortable again. (she also gave dd a # to call her back if she needed to.)

I was so ticked and almost filed a peace order (restraining order) so kids would be removed from bus. (Yeah school didn't care because it wasn't on their property.) i didn't file because the girls' mothers came by the next morning and apologized profusely. (they were aware i had the police involved.)

But these girls continued to harass my dd during the year and kicked her and hit her. When dd came home with a bruised, swollen ankle from being kicked, I had to go to school several times because principal didn't want to be involved.

OMG!!!! :furious: I would be furious as well! Thank goodness for that operator. At orientation they said that anything that happens on the bus or at the bus stop will be dealt with at school. They consider the bus stop school property.

I also have this ticker top saved in my photobucket! I loved it, but wasn't sure if It would count toward photo count in signature. would you mind if I added it to mine as well?

Pj

I ask because I made up a DVC logo from a screen capture and another DISer took it and uses it, i could tell because I made a mistake and never corrected it and it still shows in their avatar. I no longer use it in my signature. At least ask to use it, I say.

PJ, each ticker counts as a picture towards the total count.

DH might read this one day. I wish you could read the bubble above my head.

I can still see the smoke rising out of that bubble this morning. :rotfl:

Today DD came home with a slip re iceskating class in Oct on Sunday. She was so excited. Well I mentioned I thought CCD class starts in October. We discussed it a bit and she wasn't thrilled. Well I heard her this evening saying to DH "Dad, I have a BIG problem. I really really want to take skating lessons but Mumma mentioned a something something D class - I can't recall the letter but she said I needed to go in October. Dad! I have a real problem Dad."

DH didn't know what the heck she was talking about but I was chuckling.

They think that they will make lots of money because people will "have" to do this. :rotfl:

I guess that I will need to start cleaning now that I have caught up???

YEAH!!!! How exciting to see the light at the end of that VERY long tunnel! :woohoo:

Well I copied it, not sure if it will work properly. I clicked on properties and copied the file name and then put in my signature. 84 days doesn't sound that bad does it? Not as good as tomorrow!!!

Who will be closing out the thread - the last one here? I am not doing any live reports...although we will have to get on the computer on the ship for our fantasy lineups. I posted one messgae or two last year and I think it was $9....!!

well actually how would I change the date in the ticker to reflect leaving earlier? It's no biggie really.....

I was teased badly for having red hair too. :( DH really wanted DD to have red hair but I am glad she does not. I know kids will pick on anything they can but red hair is just such an obvious target. I hated my hair growing up so much. I like it better now but I still don't love it in part because of all the negative associations I have with it from when I was a kid.

Bella,
Which grade is DD in? If it's not a year where communion or confirmation takes place, it would be very easy to work something out with the catachist who is teaching the class. (ie home school her for the weeks that she has has the lessons) I taught classes when DD was in 4th grade (we had about 16 in our class; that was a rough year) and we just followed what was in the books. Then she could rejoin the class afterwards or you could continue home study for the year.

Our church has three options for CCD learning. One is home study. Two is groups of 2-3 families that meet in each others homes. THree si something new we started last year. All ages meet at the church two sundays a month (well it's a school right now, because were a newer parish and the school was built first) They have a potluck dinner (optional ) and then we break up into groups for all the ages. Adults don't have a formal class but we do have speakers and informal discussion.
