DSharpe said:Ok - just got a phone call finalizing some (not necessarily fun) things for me.
My old job (I left them in Feb - not enough money, not enough time at home) called and is taking me up on my offer (made in a short lapse of good judgement and generosity) to help them out if the new guy didn't pan out for them. They are letting him go and hiring someone that is starting on Oct 2. In the meantime (on short - less than 24 hr notice), I will be doing my old job then training her when she arrives. They actually offered the job back to me at the salary they are offering her, but that doesn't solve my time issue, so I said No (I LOVED being home this summer!)
My husband thinks I'm totally nuts for doing this. I like to think of it as not burning any bridges, keeping my options open, staying on top of my 'work' game, etc! LOL
SO, in summary...
Bad - less time here to play with my friends, exercise schedule may get nixed
Good - only temporary and during school hours (and see reasons above)
Better - negotiated a 30% raise in the daily rate that I charged them in August (filled in while he was on vacation for a week)
BEST - depending on how long it takes to train her, this $$ (plus the money made in August) will pay for most if not all of our cruise by the time I'm through with this assignment!!
how flattering that they want you back, you must have done a great job there!
