My cedar chest is full of quilts that my mom and great grandmother have made. THere are also a few other odds and ends in there. When I got married my DH said that the chest was the only nice thing in our house! We have since bought furniture for each room of our house...but at the time that was the only nice thing.
Ohhh. Sounds great. I love old treasured furniture better than the new stuff every time.

I am going to go and call my Dr. now I feel bad. I have never had an ear infection. I was always a strep throat sort of kid. I don't want to torture her if she has an infection.

Hey, I was a strep throat kind of kid too. Summer camp was the worst, we would pass it back and forth like it was fashionable. I have never had an ear infection, and I swam all the time as a kid, prune city.

Don't ever think you are wasting the dr's time - that is what you and the ins companies are paying for.
We are really really lucky to have a fantastic Dr who cares a lot about DD. He gave us his Cell phone number to call anytime we have a problem. He would have had a fit on me if I had been in Brandi's situation last night and not called.

The best part is he never makes us feel stupid for asking a simple question.

He is DH's and my Dr as well.

So - about 7000 posts to read - at 30 seconds per post, that's 58 hours? 10 seconds per post, 19 hours?

I'll start in again at this point so I keep my job and can pay for the cruise  (or have bananas been banned? So scary being out of the loop.)

But I have to know - Bella -how many times per week do they serve fluffernutter sandwiches in Mass.?

Who has the recap page? Brandi? Becka?

Could you come to my house please. I am worried about clean underwear for tomorrow . Sad sad, hanging my head shamefully
:rotfl:

Clarification Required....just b/c I have begun to pack for something that is MONTHS away, does not mean anyone in my house has ANYTHING ready to wear for tomorrow. In fact, DSs asked me where there were clean socks this AM and I too am out of clean underwear for tomorrow (Shhh!!!!) Guess lots of us will be doing laundry tonight!!! Ugh...Hate laundry! :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy:
11 loads should get us in shape!!

me too......

But i do have three drawers filled with cruise stuff....

See!!! I knew there were others.

Granted, I'll change my proposed packing ideas numerous times over the next few months, but I leave out what I might wear on teh cruise as I put the summer stuff away for winter.

I have to go to the store today and I feel like . I have a lack of sleep headache.

Ok...enough whining from me...Eliza is crying again...bye guyes.

You know when DS was a baby I would sit up with him waiting for him to eat & got back to sleep. I was making myself stay awake more than I had to & was exhausted. The doctor suggested that I bring DS to bed with me and it changed our lives! He could wake up & eat whenever he wanted and didn't wake DH & myself up several times a night. Both of my kids woke up a couple times during the night until they moved out of their cribs at 18 months. When I did have to get up with them I tried to look at it as an opportunity to spend time with them so that I didn't resent them for it...though it wasn't always easy. :grouphug:

Since June '05?? :scared1: What was the holdup? We signed for our pool and we were swimming 3 months later.

Yes, we were hoping that the pool would be ready before the last cruise. :rotfl:

Nothing packed yet but I have bought some things for the cruise that I need to put in my box. I usually have a big trip box (or cruise box in this case) in our bedroom that I just throw things in as I buy them, find them, etc.. then I use it when I start physically packing the suitcases about 2 weeks out.

Good Morning!

A good night's sleep last night with minimal DIS'ing . . .

OK, I was thinking about this this morning, and this has nothing to do with Amy telling me about the "pricey" Barbosa suit while I was half asleep :rolleyes1 , but, I really think there is a better Barbosa in our group.

Becka, can you post a picture of Aaron again with that beard for comparrison? Other than his youthful good looks, I think all he would need is that hat to make a pretty good Barbosa. What do you think?

Anyone else for me Todd?

And V - can I see if I can ask you and John2 a favor? Any chance you could bring a pole for our flag to the port since you don't have to put it on a plane?

John1

I think Aaron could be a good Will Turner ....he would have to darken the stasch and wanna be beard ..LOL but its all in fun ...John you will have to lighten yours a lil bit , or let the grey show :lmao: :rotfl2: Just kidding

This is usually about the point where I realize we really are going on vacation and that I might think about doing something useful to prepare instead of just posting here! :rotfl: I start taking an inventory of what we need vs. have and then I start buying things to fill in the gaps. I feel like I spend a fortune getting us ready for the cruise before we even get there.

ROLL CALL TIME!!!

Who has started either packing clothes or laying them out?

ME!

I'll probably do that after Thanksgiving....

I called the doctor. Eliza will get checked at 7:00 tonight. At least I will know if there is something wrong with her ear or if she is just miserable from her teeth.

DH will have to take her. This will be the first time I ever miss an appt. for one of my kids. Strange... :guilty:

My DH took one of the girls to a doctor's appointment.....ONCE! Had to give him detailed instructions to get there, :rotfl: etc.

We should start taking nominations for awards like they do in High School (Most Likely to ...).

What all do we need:

Most Likely to Be Packed First
Most Likely to Be Packed Last
Most Likely to End Up on Anxiety Meds Before the Cruise
Most Likely to Almost Miss the Ship
Most Likely to Get Drunk at Dinner
Most Likely to Embarrass Their Spouse the Most
Most Likely to Embarrass Their Kids the Most

:lmao:

Silly - that is their job!!

What I always hated was how the kids SUDDENLY had NO FEVER and felt fine when in the Dr's office!!! Really, Doc, he was running 102.5 at home, I swear!!
Then I'd find myself not giving them pain reliever if I knew I was taking them, and hoping it was still hurting when we went - awful mom, I know!
My oldest never had fever with EI - or complained of pain - only knew when he threw up in the middle of the night!

I never go by how the kids are acting because mine seem to be fine but are still sick. Once after DD was 4 & was diagnosed with strep she continued to have a fever & a croupy cough. I took her to the urgent care center on a Sunday afternoon to be checked out. This was during the big flu outbreak two years ago. We waited for 1 1/2 hours and she was smiling & skipping around like nothing was wrong. I was getting very frustrated & would have taken her home if it wasn't for the terrible coughing that she did at night like she was going to choke. :( I waited it out. The PA came in & checked her and became concerned very quickly. DD ended up having chest xrays done and they couldn't get a good oxygen count on her finger. They called in her regular pediatrician. He came in & was also concerned. She had influencial pneumonia. The stupid doctor that we had seen on Thursday at their office stopped checking her out once the strep test came back. Her doctor was livid when he found out that she hadn't been tested for the flu with the symptoms that I told them and the fact that is was so bad right then. We were there almost two hours after they closed the center. He was monitoring her and trying to treat her. She came very close to being admitted to the hospital that night. The bad thing about leaving that late is that no pharmacies were open to fill the RX for cough meds for her to sleep (and me too). I sat up with her after calling every pharmacy for 30 miles from here. Ours has an after hours number but that was the night the operator didn't staff it. OY BOY! I went in the next day to ask whay I had done wrong & the head pharmacist was very upset! Apparently we weren't the only people needing an Rx that night. I now have his home number.
