I don't think anyone posted about DD's antics at the hotel Friday night. Just one more thing that I didn't need to deal with. After hearing about MIL's situation FIL & I took DD downstairs to meet up with DH & DS so we could go to dinner. I was trying to be polite and listen to FIL, who walks slowly...much slower than DD...so she ran ahead. I thought that the elevator was at the end of the hall to the right so when she turned I figured she would be there when we got there. She wasn't. FIL went downstairs from the 11th floor to check the lobby. I walked around waiting for her to come back up in another elevator. DH & DS came up and he went off looking for her when I told him what happened. I finally went downstairs and FIL was just standing there. He said he didn't see her. I was upset with him for just standing there and went across the lobby to the front desk. I excused myself and interrupted the man at the desk telling the girl that DD was missing. I described her head to toe. Everyone behind the desk started working on finding her. They had a security person with the ear piece set up talking to me in about 30 seconds and he relayed her description to his team. He came right back and told me that they might have her at the pool on the 2nd floor. He went to pick her up & DH came out of the elevator with DD in his arms. He found her running the halls on the 11th floor. Evidently there was another hall after the elevator and that is where she turned. It set up like a square where she could just go round and round. (IDK what happened with the little girl they found on her own at the pool but it wasn't DD.) After giving security her description, I was a total mess. The manager kept wanting trying to get me to sit down in her office but I couldn't move. I couldn't stop crying. It may have been a total of 5 minutes but sure seemed alot longer. When she saw me upset of course she started crying. The manager brought her a HUGE teddy bear with a tshirt with the hotel name on the front and that made her smile. She has slept with that bear ever since. Other people in the lobby when I walked thru realized what was wrong too. I heard one guy say "that lady has lost her kid" when I walked by and his group came over to get the description and started looking for her too.
OMG! The whole elevator/hallway/airport tram scenerio is a huge fear of mine. We go through it but frankly who knows what the heck a 6 year old is going to do as they are happily skipping along. You must have had heart palpitations for the rest of the day. Scary scary thing!

So, he's the FL resident and you get the suite at Fl discount rates and he gets the Cat 11?? :lmao: V will probably know if they discount those. Sounds like a plan to me. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Nope. Vanessa called DCL a while ago & asked them due to a thread on the main board. The girl she talked to seemed insulted that she even asked the question. :rotfl2:

Just checking in - first day appeared uneventful - we'll find out more this evening. I didn't even cry - I think full day kindergarten prepared me. My stressor was dropping her off at afterschool care. She has never been in that type of setting. Fortunately the woman is well known and respected (she also volunteers at school) and it's down the hill from school. I left and felt so worried - how is she going to do. 1st day and that - will it be a problem - will it be fine. Is she internalizing now all kinds of angst. Is she ok, crying, will I get a phone call saying she is not ok.

I can't wait to get past this first week.

Hi all,
Just picked up DS3 from preschool in the pouring rain. Get to find out that he hit another child today ON THE FIRST DAY! :guilty:

I don't like to say this, but the boards are pretty bad for awhile after 3am. They take forever or don't let you post at all. I've noticed it last from about 3:10 - 3:30 approx.

Lisa, DO SOMETIHNG!!! ;)

So you're awake at that time too? I can't sleep lately. And I thought there would be no one on the boards so I don't even bother to log on. But if you're gonna be there, maybe I will some morning.

I agree - they are really really bad.

Wow that's friendship - lending a GBA. Now that my kids are entering K. I guess they will discover what that is. But at least I held off til age 6.

Santa brought them out of necessity. They really help with the long drive to FL. Our first 5 hour drive to GM&GP's house after Christmas flew by. :thumbsup2 His friend doesn't actually know that he lent it since it is currently in time out for him.

Good Morning! :wave2:

It sounds like it might be pretty quiet around here this weekend. So many people are out of town, I have family coming up to visit so they will keep me busy part of the weekend, plus I am sure some of you have big Labor Day plans. :)

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Yeah....right!

I worked on my t shirts this weekend.

For anyone planning on makign t shirts. If you buy the transfer paper that says "light fabric"...they really mean it! For some reason, I decided to test it on a black t shirt....black is not a light fabric. I ruined the t shirt AND the transfer paper.

The rest of them came out REALLY nice. Only about 14 more to make for all my friends and kids!!!
So do you think use the dark paper transfer for the limegreen shirt?? I ask this knowing I still have last years class DVD to start and finish and catch up on 3 days of work.

Lisa, it's fun to see you catch up from the weekend! It's an easy read... many pages are just pictures!!

I am trying to decide what to do now that it is crunch time. The two day rentals they are offering on CC are amazing. Wait, I just thought about this. Those rentals can be booked anytime. :rotfl: Well, now back to researching other things!

Lisa - the sparkling moments --- champagne and strawberries they do in the "lobby" ---- is this free or does anyone know? I remember seeing the setup but don't remember seeing anyone manning the place.

I have seen alot of Sundays and Tuesdays mentioned for Palo. Which were most of the late seating doing again? Angie?

Oh - isn't that always the way. So sorry. So you had to stand there dying inside explaining that is not normal or excepted behavior in your family and they look at you like "sure"

Has anyone rented a bicycle? It says the kids have to ride alone if they don't fit into the chair - we are still riding with training wheels. I can't believe they don't have bikes to accomodate this age group.

anyone?

elaine

They have bikes with training wheels on CC...if you haven't already found that out. :goodvibes
