Yup - went I went to college in NC, they all said I didn't have a Northern accent. What the heck is a northern accent? After 4 years I figured that lots of kids from New Jersey went there b/c it was a beach college and they were used to that Jersey accent.

I have relitives in both New Jersey and Louisana, so I have heard strong accents from both regons.

Yes Karen. At about 3:10 or so the boards don't work so well. I think it is the DIs's way of telling us to GO TO BED!!

You can always tell when it is an election year here in Missouri, because all the people running for election change the name to Missourah to sound more in touch with the rural roots.

Now here is another twist on the discussion. Sometimes the pronounciation even depends on WHERE you are in the state.

Well we here in the extreme southern region of NJ DO NOT have the North "Joisey" accent, nor do we have any of the Philadelphia one (except for the ones who come down in the summer). Realy, we talk just like the people on TV.

Much of South Jersey sounds like Philly, because most of them grew up in Philly!
