our old nursery school has adopted the local battered womens shelter and gives used and new items.

but I bet the new K has students who are also in need as well. thanks I will ask about that.

you know what I do for the women's shelters. Because I take my own shampoo everywhere, I collect all those little bottles of everything from all the hotels I go to and take them over. Then they can give them out individually. Love that idea I stole from someone else!

The flash flooding is what would scare me. I didn't really ever think much of it until we were driving when flash floods hit. Some of the scariest moments of my life. There is water everywhere and you have no were to go and it keeps rising. Water can get 3-5 feet deep quickly and then just as suddenly it disappers. It is freaky!!!

I have never really seen such a thing. A few months ago we had flooding all over our county. Things were really a mess...but our house is at a spot that I can't even imagine flooding. If our house floods...I hope someone built and ark! We have been watching the weather channel. The storm in the OBX will be pretty well over. We have to drive through it to get there....

Oh my...extremely quite board tonight! I have been feverishly packing. I am still not done! A week away with the kids involves lots of packing!!!!

I did bake a batch of cookies....I can be a good mom if I put my mind to it . DH crashed about an hour ago...he was up at 3...he was dead tired! I am getting more done with everyone in bed. I want to unload my camera's pics so I am fresh for the beach. I will check in in the AM but with our revised schedule we will be leaving at about 9 AM.

A bunch of us are doing brunch Monday around 10:30. DrHug and I are planning dinner Tuesday and we hope to get 7:30 or 7:45. We are returning cruisers so we will book at midnight (Pacific time) on Sept 10.

Is everyone watching the Agassi match at the US Open? I am very afraid this will be his last match but I hope he pulls it out. I would love to see him win it but unfortunately I don't think his back will be able to take it.

Nope, it is football at our house. The Oregon State vs. Eastern Washington was so boring (21 zip at end of first quarter) we switched over to pro - Seahawks/Raiders.

I haven't thought about Palo dinner yet. The girls love to do dinner, so last time we double dipped. The waiter didn't bring us out anything but what we ordered. I am guessing this was because he knew we had to get to dinner.

As for BB, the procrastinator in me won. I figured I had 72 free hours and could come on now and cancel my "Live" subscription. NOPE! Can't do it on the computer. Have to call in during business hours!! Ah well. 15 bucks wasted as I don't really watch it any way and there is no one I want to watch!!

We have Yahoo messenger with just family on it so DD uses it at times to chat with her cosin. But then when I use it, I have to take off her avitar and switch fonts. She puts it on rainbow and it is so annoying!

DH came on Yahoo messenger this evening, but I had put away our microphone and forgot where I put it. So we could hear him, but I had to type replies. Well DD Dina kept yelling "Daddy!" and wanting him to reply! I did finally find the mic do she could talk to him. She wants him to take her to Wawa tomorrow for candy! Hmmmm... long plane ride for candy!

Angie, yourself and DrHugs are the sweetest GPs taking Aaron with you. That's one disadvantage with a big family. My DM has 16 grandkids so she couldn't even think about it. My oldest was her 9th!
