Can someone explain? People who buy lots of water/beer/soda and pack it in a suitcase? and drop at the port - doesn't it get damaged? I can't imagine the baggage handlers are much gentler than the airline employees. Can you mark fragile?

I agree about lugging the wine around - is there anyway around this problem?
Can you get one of those cardboard boxes that hold 2 bottles and just leave it with your luggage or might it disappear?

thanks.

Karen - Exactly how many buttons are we talking here? Am I going to be wearing so much metal that I mess up the ships' compass? Every where I walk on the ship will become north! :rotfl:

thanks Mrs. Mork about the dining tips.

We are dining at 8pm, I believe which will be late for the kids. Not sure how they will do in fact I probably will just feed them way earlier and then let them mostly get dessert.

Then I will worry that they are too tired for the kids club. We will have to practice staying up late like in summer. Maybe I will put all the lights on in the house at night and keep them up an extra hour in the week before the cruise. LOL.

Do all the kids attend the pirate deck party - seems so late at night for little ones - but looks like so much fun. I smell a nap. ;)

On our 4 night cruise DS would usually be done in 30-45 minutes so one of us would take him up to the Club when he was finished. I imagine the same thing will happen this time. Of course this time I am probably going to wish that DD could go to the club then too. I may never get to try any of the desserts.

We do late dining also. Aaron was 3 the first time we took him and he did fine with the late dinner. Yes, the kids will really enjoy Pirate night. Lots of music, dancing, glowing necklaces, and of course pirates!

DD was asleep and in bed when it was time for the party so I stayed behind in the room with her while DH took DS up to the party. DS was already tired so they didn't stay long especially since it was so loud. DS complained that it was hurting his ears. I think we are going to try to bring earplugs for him this time so the deck parties will not be too loud for him.

We had 6 bottles in a backpack last year. I don't know if we will be able to carry it this year with the airline situation. We may just have to buy some in Florida, if we cannot ship it to ourselves. That would mean, of course, none of our homemade stuff. :sad2:

Our girls loved the pirate party...the baby was a tad tired but this year I am sure she'll be wide awake! Last year Samantha wanted to wear her Snow White Costume and go to the club for the DoSiDo with Snow White....she missed our group pirate pic and came to the party in her SW outfit...to this day she is upset she is not in the pirate picture with our group!

Thanks for the tip Angie. As it gets closer I can start filling up my box! It will be wonderful not to take a rolling cooler...as it is now we'll have:
2 kids
one umbrella stroller (checking the other one)
day bag
purse....

that seems a much lighter load than last year!

the challenge now will be finding a box big enough for the liquor!!

Just Kidding!

Actually I have a nice one from DD that I can put lots of the goodies in.

Was I the only one cracking up at James fighting with Janelle about the POV. I'd seen him whining so much about it on the feeds that I couldn't wait to see how it went down. When I saw it I couldn't believe that James was demanding a re-do of the competition over that!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

It was so obvious that he wasn't anywhere near the M doll. :lmao: I hope that they show it to him when he is voted out because you KNOW that he will be whining to Julie about it.

We had some wine shipped to us from Key West and I think we still have the box they used to ship it. I will have to dig thru the garage and see what I can find, then check with my mail store man and see if he can ship wine to FL for us.

All of the schools in our area went to full day kindergarten this year. I think that it was state mandated. Our teachers started yesterday and our kids start on Monday. Are the kids excited about going to K? I am still in my oh man my baby is starting Preschool!!!! I don't even want to think about K!!!!!

They have all day Kindergarten here too. DD is going into first grade this year & DS will be in second. We go to meet their teachers tonight...even though I already know them. Less than 24 hours until they start school!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :woohoo:   :dance3: :bounce: :wave2:

Elaine....I will try to answer your posts. :)

The limbo is on Pirate night.

You can ask the servers to bring the kid's food right away and they can be finished before your entrees come out so you can run them to the club.

They have not stopped doing the AP light show. That would be a BIG thread on the main board. They have had a couple problems over the years but if that happens they usually redo the show the next time you are in AP.

DD is Disneydirect.com...their new name.

We just bring a soft rolling cooler. It really isn't a big deal. We put our other carry ons on top of it & wrap the straps around the handle so it is all together. You CAN ship wine into FL now so if that is an option for anyone, the address for shipping to the port is in the FAQ thread on the main cruise board.

Keep in mind that there will be a time change while on the cruise so it wont really be 8 pm to your body's clock...so that might work out ok for you. Things are just different on the ship...for everyone. The excitement keeps them going. The kids have been to every tropical and pirate party. They crash around 11/11:30. Thank goodness we don't have to get up early like on the Eastern in St. Thomas the next day. ;)

Angie, the law for FL changed this year. You might want to look it up again. :)

Now I am wondering about what to ship ahead. Hmmm....there will be alot of stockings but I was going to give those out in the terminal too. DH says that he wants to fly down this time but that will add so much expense to our total trip. :( I really like being able to pack without worrying about weight or number of bags too. We will probably drive again.

I would love to have some Diet Pepsi on the cruise but I really don't think I want to deal with the hassle of carrying it onboard. I guess I will just have to live with the Diet Coke for a week. I know that when we get off the ship though one of our first stops will be at a gas station so I can get me a Diet Pepsi! :teeth:

I'm excited at the thought of shipping ahead! I planned on giving out some goodies at the terminal as well.....but maybe I should do that at the deck party/sail away? IDK....I know not everyone makes it to everything and I know some may not even participate in anything!!
