Angie, neat idea....

Have you checked airline policy? Many will not fly kids that young by themselves.

Oh and just checking but was it you who had the 13yo DGD coming on the trip? i know that there are a couple out there but didn't see to many on the manifest list on Lisa's website.
Yes, USAir and America West (the direct flights from PHX to PDX) allow kids as young a 5 to fly alone with a $40 charge. He will be 7 at the time of the flight so he should be able to handle it.

Was not me with the DGD coming this trip.

Lisa , Did you guys change the search function on the board ??? it is not as detailed as before and I am going nuts trying to find some of the transportation companies ...I know like Happy Limo and SE but we need a mini bus or something for 14 people ...lol

My sister in law has a knitting podcast. I put it on when I can't sleep..

not the Hummer!! ;)

BTW - Can I ship liquor, wine or beer across the state? I just tried to look on UPS and couldn't find the answer. I think I am shipping the goodies and some water ahead of time but with the girls a rolling cooler would be great to leave at home if possile!

Na, you put the kids on the rolling cooler, a few bumps and bruises, will be covered by the suntan they will get, lol.

Florida Tours and Happy Limo are the ones we have used. We had a "luxury van" for 12 people and I thought I saw the mini-bus on their websites also.

Are we the only ones who haven't sent our SASE into Kim? I have asked DD whether she will wear it. We have issues as SAB and the extra magic hours at WDW- she dislikes wearing the wrist bands and we initially had a problem on the cruise. She likes the fact that they will glow in the dark however I said I would not get one for her if she wasn't going to wear it. She did mention that she might like to wear it around her ankle.

I am being a procrastinator....I really need to get that done THIS week! :)

I really don't want to miss the next milestone, but I am so so so tired. Eliza just will not sleep all night! She doesn't really wake up but cries in her sleep. She does fine with the teething during the day but at night..look out!

I looked at WM for those teething tablets...no luck. I want to ask my DMIL about them. She does all of the ordering for a small town pharmacy and she might be able to get them for me.

I had trouble finding them at first but they keep them at my WM near the vitamins. I guess because they are homeopathic.... :confused3 Keep looking for them....they really will help!

If you love music, you will wonder how you ever got by without one. I bought my first one when they were in their second generation, and had not yet exploded in popularity. When you have kids, it seems like all your music takes a back seat to Raffi and Barney - well the iPod helped. I could listen to MY music while DD watched Raffi or Barney!

I use it when I exercise or walk the dog, and lately, I listen more to Podcasts (not the knitting one though) and audio books than I do to music. I have less and less time to read, and would rather listen to the book on the way to work. I have the earphone lanyard for my Nano, and have a carkit to listen in the car over the car stereo.

I NEVER listen to the radio anymore other than NPR, and I don't think I would ever buy satelite radio when I can listen to my own music and shows.

Brandi, you can go to the site PJ mentioned and download iTunes and get the experience on your PC without the ipod you can carry along with you. It is free - try it out! You can subscribe to most podcasts for free too. Some Podcasts are great, and there are several good Disney ones that are fun. The only drawback without the ipod is that you will have to listen on your computer.

I love :lovestruc my iPod and I don't know how I lived without it.

How does that car thing work? I would love to listen to my music in the car although 98% of the time I am listening to Wiggles, Laurie Berkner, Hakuna Matata....

Becka,

Griffin, Belkin and Macally make FM TRANSMITTERS, the songs play over the radio on a empty channel that you chose. Some also have built in car charges, so you don't run down your battery.

grocery sales start Wed here as well.

Wed is water play for Haley and Fri is water play for Samantha....it's at the same school, different classrooms but don't ya think they could have made it easy on us parents and made them both on the same day?

Nathan's is Tuesday, Allie's is Wednesday and then Nathan had swim lessons after school on Thursday (until last week) so 3 out of 5 days I had to remember to pack someone's swim stuff. It was just time for me to forget! ;)

Send their school supplies too... School starts Monday. Oh yeah and a winter coat... It will get cold come mid October.... But i don't turn on the heat until Nov 1 as a rule of thumb if possible.

I had one of those things that transmitted to one of like 5 different stations and you could choose. Four of the channels were used in my area and the 5th one was close enough that I got interference from that channel so the sound was never good.

Becka,

This is not the perfect solution, but it works . . . (the perfect solution is a direct connection of the iPod to your car stereo -which is now being offered by many manufacturers with more on the way).

Anyway, it plugs into your cigarette lighter, and is actually a radio transmitter. You set it to transmit on the worst static station you can find on your radio, tune your radio to that station, and it then plays through your radio. If you travel, you have to keep changing stations, as there are stations that interfere where there are broadcasts on the frequency you chose in a particular area. It also charges your iPod!

This is the latest version of the one I have - about $90 at BBuy:

Nope...we aren't sending one since we will see her Friday night before the cruise. One less thing for me to misplace. ;)

THEY love dogs. :) I have heavy coats...not that they need them much around here...and DH drives up there on Sunday for grad school....he could stop by your place first. ;) ROFL! Now you aren't going to want to meet us because you will be afraid of me leaving the kids. :lmao: I went upstairs & told them that it would be best if I didn't hear from them for a while. I played digdug...got my two highest scores ever! :) I'm calmer now & the kids are still behaving...they picked up the legos too. ;)

Newer models are digital and you can chose any station on the dial. They should run from $30-$45 US$.

John, really like that one, it would be great, if only my Honda did not have it's cig lighter under the dash. The iPod would be facing the floor, lol.
