For those of you with real little ones....

I just discovered Huggies wipes today. I always hated Huggies diapers and stuck with Pampers for DS (the only ones that would work) and Luvs for DD. I just always bought either Pampers or Luvs wipes too. I never thought there was much a difference in the wipes. Well I saw a thread on the CB a week or so ago about wipes and most people seemed to think the Huggies wipes were far superior to the others so I thought I would try them.

I really like them. They are so much thicker than the others. I guess I will switch wipe brands for my remaining diaper years. :)
Done with that. My first two were in the cloth diaper, wipe with a wash cloth years. :sad2:

I sure am glad disposables are available now. :thumbsup2

On the cruise food thing.... DH and DD are both really skinny and don't like food, so they really don't order much of anything. I however, have ordered soup and salad and more than one entree. I don't every night, just when I can't decide. Have you all heard that poem about jack sprat and his wife? that would be us....

Thanks, Brack. I see you are a fellow Marylander. :thumbsup2 Where is Nottingham?

It's in Baltimore County, northeast of the city near where I95 and I695 come together. We just moved here two months ago from Oklahoma City where we lived for almost 7 years.

Are any of you having a hard time finding really good bread? I am so frustrated this week I am making my own... Why is it all processed and bland?

I like the Orowheat really grainy breads. My DH can't stand the stuff. He thinks I might as well just go chew on a stalk of wheat! :rotfl:

I was just thinking, I think we are pretty geographically representative of the U.S. population except for California... Is anyone here from CA?

Kim

We also ordered a second entree once. DrHug and I had never had lamb properly prepared (I did make lamb chops once, but they were so awful that we thru them out) and wanted to try it. Our server brought a plate and put it in the center of the table. We both tried it as did some fellow DISers. It was ok, but not something I would order. We were glad to get to try it without having to "pay" for it. :lmao:

Yes, but at least it has flavor and nutritional value!

It looks like bubbasmom99 and GoofyFD are from CA according to our group website.

For those who are driving to the port for the first time: Make sure you get gas in Orlando!!!! There is NO gas between Orlando and the port area.

In February we had about 1/4 tank when we left AKL and just figured we would gas up on the way. We didn't want to deal with all the traffic there in Orlando so we figured we would just fill up 10 miles or so outside town! There was NOTHING!!!!! We really thought we were going to run out of gas. I never knew the gas light could stay on that long. I truly believe God was responsible for us not running out of gas. We finally got to I-95 and drove a few miles before we found a gas station. One of the scariest moments ever for us!

OMG Becka! That is great advice - the exact same thing happened to us in 2002! We were heading to Kennedy Space Center on the "Bee Line Expressway." It was 95 degrees and I was terrified that we were going to be stranded there with no A/C. I kept checking the sides of the road for alligators! (:rotfl2: Sure, it seems funny now).

We were praying and praying that we'd make it. We, too, are sure it was divine intervention that kept us going for 30 miles after the "idiot light" said "0 miles til empty." We even called the state police to ask where we could find a gas station! It really was one of the scariest times we've ever had on a trip. Plus, we never saw another car on that road! :scared1:

I just got some this week that is really good. The brand is Miltons, it is a multigrain that is very tasty. I just checked the label and it is made in Del Mar, CA so I'm not sure how far away one could find it. We are near Portland, OR so it is a ways from us.

I think I would feel strange ordering more than one entree. On the last cruise I typically ordered an app or salad, entree and dessert.

Plus with all those extra plates it just means more to keep away from DD's little hands. Of course maybe on this cruise she will be a little better about that.

We do have at least a couple of Californians with us. Mark and Joy, I think. Anyone else? I can't get into the web page right now to check.

Even out here in the middle of Missouri you can still find a gas station when you need one most of the time. I was shocked that on what I considered must be a decently traveled road by many tourists that there would not be any gas stations!!!!

I don't want to start any kind of argument here but, what are all of your thoughts on letting kids charge on there key and/or giving them a budget for things to buy on the ship. (and no, I am not giving my 6 year old charging privileges, she would lose the card within 5 minutes)

kim

I would let my DS have charging privileges on his card (he's 33yo and has a very good job) but I would be very wary for a child; evena teenager. It is too much of a temptation. I have seen too many overages just on a cell phone that I could not imagine what would happen with charges on a card.

On the first DVC cruise we were seated with another DISer whose DH ordered 2 entrees everynight - and ate them both along with apps and desserts! AND he was very thin!! :confused3 How unfair is that!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Just a note - this was before I found the DIS board and we were THRILLED to meet someone who was even MORE Disney  than us!

Hey Brack! How are you feeling? Did you work Friday or decide to just go ahead and take one more day to recoup?
