Gosh, all this talk about getting tuxes....can DH wear his speedo? We'll put a shirt on of course, but I thought I read somewhere that speedos were acceptable.
Your DH can wear his speedo as long as he is young and buff!!! :rotfl: :happytv: :rotfl2: :lmao: Although...we better check with the professional formal night dressers....we all know who she is...but I won't say it....her name reminds me of a little....elf!

I play canasta (lol) on my computer, it is fun, I will have cards on the ship. Maybe if I actually learn to deal and the rules, computer won't let you cheat, we could get a foursome together.

Pj

Hey! I used to play Canasta (about 25 years ago though . . .) I remember it was fun! Maybe I can brush up. I think we used to play double Canasta - or something like that. Lots of cards in your hand.

Also used to play double pinochle all the time with my family - it was great fun.

Welcome Back Becka!

I am just sitting here watching "Dog the Bounty Hunter" I know, I know that is just so sad, but I like that show.

Brandi,
Congrats on the A! You're zipping right through this class, and the fall will fly by with the other one.

Of course, now this grade confirms your ability to handle the PowerPoint assignment to create the Orientation Program for the cult. Please submit your lime-green, DCL-logo shadow background format for review by Sept. 1.
I'll get right on that!!!!!

I haven't had any problems with them....but I don't run them thru the washer on their own either. I put such things in a zippered meshed laundry bag. ;)
Me too...no problems!

PJ - I have been meaning to post this. Everytime my DS sees your pic with Chip and Dale he gets very excited and starts to shout "I've been there...I've been there." It is so cute. He does it every single time he sees you!

Where is everyone??? It is 9:00 and I am talking to myself!!!! Maybe I will go and have a WW Ice cream.

My last few days have been so rough I feel like I am out of things to say. :confused3

MMMMmm....I am eating an ice cream cone from slim-a bear. It is so yummy!!

I'm out here Brandi.

I want to watch the WWDC keynote though . . .

More geek stuff.

Hi all! I am going to try to stay up later tonight. Unfortunatley for me, the viral bronchitus turned into pneumonia dispite my best efforts. DH and my entire family are on the adventure, so I have been saving all my energy for her and go to bed as soon as she does. I hate pneumonia! Stupid lungs, I asked for a transplant and the dr looked at me like I had lost brain cells..

Brack, I have some nifty narcotics to stop the coughing. Let me know next time you take a pain pill and I will swallow mine and we can chat with Lucy in the sky with diamonds...

Becka, Good to see your sparkley signature!

John and PJ any word on that new video ipod, I have been waiting and waiting.

Angie, I love apple pie! Especially with ice cream. I don't like chocolate (yes I know that is horrible to say) but restaurants always have apple pie or apple cobbler.

Lisa, do your kids do the touching things at the aquarium?

Amy Did Sophia notice anything different?

Kim

Kim....DS LOVES the stingray tank. He gets them to come right to him. LOL! They are about 12 inches wide...and he knows that they will be bigger at CC. :) DD doesn't care for that...but loves the touchtank with the horseshoe crabs, hermits, conchs, and other such thing...DS wont mess with those. LOL~

OK....is anyone else ROFL about BB!!! LOVED the POV comp. :lmao: I don't like the final outcome for the week though. :(

Kim- So far Sophia has just said she likes the fact that everything is neat and clean. She hasn't missed anything....YET!!!!

Hope you feel better soon! Sophia is answering you DD's email now.

DD thinks the stingrays are going to sting her then suck her in. We do it together so she can pull her hand out really fast!

I guess I can tell you guys about my weekend.

It started very early Saturday morning when DD walked into the living room, tripped and landed face first in the entryway and busted her upper lip. She was really upset and did not want me to clean up the blood so I got blood everywhere while trying to calm her down and get her cleaned up.

We then leave (a little early at around 7:50), get gas and then DH remembers that he forgot to get money out of the ATM so we had to make a detour there. It is a little over 3 1/2 hours to my friends house but DS made us stop every 20 minutes because he would claim he had to go to the bathroom and everytime we stopped it took forever. One time he even went to the bathroom and not 2 miles down the road was all panicky because he had to go AGAIN! We really thought he couldn't possibly but he was doing the little dance so we pulled over again and he really did have to go. Of course then other times he didn't have to go but just wanted to stop. We could never tell if he really had to or not so we had to stop everytime he said he had to go.

About an hour from my friends house we hit some construction but nothing too bad although it did slow us down a little and then we smelled it. DD really needed a diaper change. I was not thrilled that we had to stop again but this could not wait. The only place to stop was a truck stop. Well I go to get DD out of the seat and her diaper had exploded!!!! OMG! It was up her back, in the car seat, it was just everywhere! We managed to get her inside only to find a tiny women's restroom with NO changing table and NO counter space. I had to put her changing pad on the floor and try to get her cleaned up! It was NOT FUN!!!!! It took us forever to get her changed and get the seat cleaned up enough.

By this time the kids were getting crabby because they were hungry but we didn't want to stop to eat because my friend was holding lunch for us. We finally made it and we were all so glad to be out of the car.

Our visit was great. The kids had fun and us adults and we stayed up until 2:30 playing Mexican train dominoes! We had a blast - helped along with a few strawberry pina coladas. :) We finally got to bed and then DD was up by 6:40 so we were really tired but we knew we would be. With such a short trip it was worth it because we got to spend time with our friends that way.

We figured we would leave in the late morning and hopefully the kids would take a nap on the way home (and so could the one who was not driving). We really figured all our bad luck had to have been on the way down, right? Well we left her house and the kids did fall asleep but after about 45 minutes we needed to stop for gas and we thought we would just grab something to eat while we were at it. The gas station had a Taco Bell next door so we grabbed some food realy quick and ate in the car. The food was not that great but we were hungry and knew we would not have another chance to eat for a while so we went ahead and finished it.

We got back on the road but this time neither of the kids would go back to sleep. They were not being too bad but they were starting to get fed up with being in the car for so long. I was driving at the time and although I knew were I was going I did not remember the exact exit number we needed to take off I-44 to hit MO-5 in Lebanon. I knew we were getting fairly close when we saw that I-44 was closed off and they had a detour on Highway N. OK so I was paying attention but never saw any signs so we get on N and the detour is a lot longer than I expected. It is very slow moving and it takes us a while but we finally get back on I-44. After a few minutes DH sees the next exit and it is for MO-7. He looks at the map and gets confused. The next thing I see is that we are almost in Waynesville right by Ft. Leonard Wood where my Dad was stationed and were I graduated high school. Well that is great but Lebanon is a good 20 miles back in the other direction!!!! At this point I realize that the exit with the detour must have been really close to the exit I needed to take. From looking at the map I think the detour was at exit 128 and exit 130 was the exit I needed to take.

Rather than back tracking we decide to continue about 30 more miles up I-44 to Rolla and hit Hwy 63 back home. It will take us a little bit longer but we know the way and we hate to backtrack at this point. About 5 miles down the road the kids are getting restless and we see the sign: BRIDGE WORK AHEAD 1 HOUR DELAY!!!!! You have to be kidding right? There was no way I was sitting on the interstate for AN HOUR with those kids in the car. Can you imagine how many times DS would have to go to the bathroom?

We pull off and start looking at the map. We can still head back to Lebanon or DH thinks it might be faster to take some of the backroads home. We can take 33 to Dixon and then hit 133 up to Westphalia which is about 40 miles south of home. I am not entirely sure because we don't know these roads but DH thinks it will be faster and it is better than staying on I-44. We start that direction and while it is pretty it is in the middle of the country. DD is starting to pitch a fit and needs constant attention because she is tired of her seat. I kept trying to turn around to deal with her but because of the lovely curvy, hilly country roads I am getting viciously car sick!

DH and I are exhausted, the kids are crabby and I finally had to just let DD cry because I go so sick trying to keep her entertained. We finally get to Hwy 63 and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. The kids finally start to get tired and appear to start looking sleepy and then DH starts complaining that his stomach is not feeling so good and he is (warning: TMI ahead) having really bad gas all while trapped in the car. We did finally manage to get home but by that time DH was not in great shape and immediately had to go straight the bathroom and spend some significant time getting sick.

Now you guys know why I was in such a great mood the other night when we got back! I am really having doubts about our trip to Florida but we have to get there somehow and flying (so far) is so expensive. DH insists we will be buying a DVD player to help entertain the kids before we go or he is not going!

Becka,

It gave me a migrane just reading about it. I can just hear the kids in the backseat, frustrated as all get out, and there is nothing you can do. So, I am thinking about the flight thing. Travelocity has some of the cities I travel to a lot on "alert" this means, any time the fare changes by an amount I specify, they send me an e-mail. It might be worth trying after your weekend..
