What's up with that Becka??? Do you have some magic with dancing bananas you need to tell us about?

I have a special relationship with the  . He likes me! :rotfl:

Were you guys using the ubb shortcuts (':text:') or were you posting them with the image tags ([/img])?

Was this your Santa banana?

That's exactly what i was wondering. The prices certainly vary in the brands. Do you know what the brand was? Does a cheaper brand mean the buttons might fall apart?

Yeah, if not lined up properly, and not enough pressure in the right spot, they become separated. Don't ask me what the "Mercedes" of button makers is though, I don't have a clue :confused3

Perhaps our fearless leader, and sash wearing PTO Queen Lisa might know?

Kim - Stand up and walk away! What I am about to post could cause you to pass out. Everyone else scroll down.....

What the heck are"ubb shortcuts"? Some kind of banana magic voodoo?

Yes, using ., and yes, that's my man!

John

The UBB shortcuts are like the little codes you use for smilies on bulletin boards. Things like : mad : (without the spaces) for  or : rotfl : (without spaces) for :rotfl: .

John - what a very eloquent and well written post...I don't watch the news or read the paper....if something is going on, I hear about it through many of the mad media people at the office or on the radio. About the ONLY time I will sit and go out of my way is of course, during hurricanes!!

Todd - is your little one good about tagging along to the restaurants/etc....? For the ones going on the jeep fest - are you all going childless or bringing them along...?

Amy, did you see the size on that one? Don't get ANY ideas.

Good grief John! Did you have to post the giant dancing banana again? Poor Kim is going to have a heart attack and then we will lose our ability to take advantage of her concierge services!!!! ;)

We're bringing the boys (I'm not bringing the twins b/c I don't have any), but I am bring my two small boys (ages 7 and 9) and my other two small ______ (sizes....#$#$@). Therefore, no I will not be joining the coconut family, but I'm anxious to have some fun! My boys have been on topless beaches from other islands jaunts. I'm a very modest person, but my boys dont' seem to notice that much. - Yes I can hear all of you shaking your heads saying, "just wait till Karen's kids hit those teenage years.". Yup!!! I live in a fantasy world....why else would I be sitting here chatting with you cult people!!

Hey All You Moms (and dads!)....

Would you buy one of those little buttons (like the kind that politicians pass out) to support your school? And for how much? Like $1?

Yes...I'm researching button machines and I might get one that can do a combo Dis cruise AND school events. You guys are just coming up with the most creative titles and I would love to make up some buttons to pass out.

So - seriously - anyone have thoughts or know anything about these machines?

And Lisa - do ya got any shopping codes for this? :rotfl: Just kidding!
When I was in HS my parents ran the spirit stand at the football games. They made loads of buttons!!!! You could make your own right there, buy a premade one, or bring a picture and they would make it into a button. They made hundreds at every game! (of course it was all for the band boosters...not football....remember I was a band geek.)
They would even make buttons for the opponents and they would sell loads of them. I guess the other schools didn't have them.

The elementary school I teach at has a button machine. I would say that I would make them. I would only need to buy the supplies...the only problem. I am still on maternaty leave until Jan. It would be odd to show up and just use the button machine...ya know what I mean!

If you are involved at school I am sure that you could sell buttons for events.
