Karen, I love when people catch up and find things just as funny as we did. Proves we're all in the same sad mental state. And that's a good thing!

Very good point, Marielle! :woohoo:

OK folks I'm logging off to drive home and pick up groceries. Don't get into too much trouble.

Oh Heck, get in lots of trouble.

I just need to keep remembering page 618, page 618, page 618.

If anyone needs me I'll be in traffic.

I also am about to log off and pick up the kids to head home.

DH is on his way to the store to pick up the groceries. We were going to have pasta but I tried to explain to DH that a big hot meal of pasta just didn't sound like a good idea when it is 100+ degrees outside. He didn't really understand but I think I have him convinced that we should just make big chef salads for dinner. Hopefully he won't forget too many things at the store...like lettuce!

Well, I read about 40 pages and have about 40 more to go, but I have to go clean windows at the church. So - considering teh good deed I'm doing, please play nice and don't add another 40 pages tonight. I promise I will do my homework first thing in the AM and get caught up.

See ya!!!

I made it home and am discussing with DH our cruise plans - to tux or not to tux, etc.....I thought I would log in and catch up. We are having chicken for dinner!

My DW is on her way home from the grocery store. She is going to make one of my favorite dishes; a fruit salad.

We just finished chicken parm. :) Yes, the oven was on but it is cool inside. It had something for everyone...noodles for DD, garlic toast & chicken tenders for DS (without the sauce or noodles of course). Dishes are already cleaned up too!

Wow - Lisa - you are on the ball....at least tonight John is doing all the cooking and looks like I'll be doing the dishes!

Ok, If you don't slow down, I am going to have to quit my job and read full time.

Here are all the answers:

My mom says I am right and should stay home and give DD the birthday party she wants. This wedding would require plane travel and 2 nights in a hotel during the most expensive travel week of the year and I could not bring my child, who, can I just say is so shy, she said nothing at all in 2 hours during the last wedding we went too (another cousin). I understand totally the concept of not having children at the wedding, but when you have to travel that far and every other member of your family will be there... I guess I just don't want someone I don't know watching my child in a strange city... So this will probably work out best anyway.

Lisa, I would LOVE to have a party for Savannah. I really want to do the one where the little girls dress up and have a dress up party. I think that would be too cool! But, you know all the secrets so you have to fill me in on how to have a fun thing on the cruise... Isn't there also a little boy who is having a birthday right after?

I loved Nanny McPhee. I have not read the book.

High School... Ok, now, John no blackmailing here...

1. Musical Theater. I was Glinda the Good Witch. Yes I Sing. In fact DH and I used to do weddings. We don't anymore.
2. Yearbook Editor 4 years
3. I lettered in Boys Baseball (I was the statistician) :rotfl:
4. Student Body Officer
5. Mock Trials
6. Debate Team 3 years
7. No cheerleading. I fall way too much. No Coordination...

I was a piano performance and economics major my first year in college, you can guess which one I dropped.

DD only does Ice Skating now. It is 3 days a week and wicked expensive. We told her she could do 3 others or just ice skating and she picked ice skating...

I can't draw, I am terrible at almost all athletics and I really hate to iron.

OK, that with my ipod list should just about rap me up...

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I had no idea the wedding was that far away...forget about going! :badpc: to that email. :p Have the party! I thought that it was going to be nearby since everyone you knew would be there. Don't have a second thought to that one, hun! Send the RSVP with a big fat ZERO for attending & forget about it! :thumbsup2

Concierge would be the one to talk to. Maybe email your person and ask how to set this up ahead of time?

We just finished watching the movie & the behind the scene stuff...the kids LOVE that stuff. :) We listened to Emma Thompson tell about how she too the three books about Nurse Matilda and made them into the screenplay. The kids ended up really liking it and of course DD loved the fact that the daddy found a new wife and fell in love.

This loose tooth is going to drive me nuts!!!! OYYYYYYYY!!! :( DD is still not brushing it and is shoving food into her cheek to eat. Nothing is touching the tooth...which is now hanging forward even more.

John, remember how DH didn't want me to touch DS's tooth on the last cruise...kept saying that it will fall out when it is ready & it would hurt more if it was pulled out? Well...for the second day in a row, DH has tried to convince DD to let us twist the tooth to get it out. :lmao: Yes, I have tried the floss a couple times. Not sure what I am suppose to do to get the tooth to come out. :(

PJ,

With all your talents :artist: and such I think you'd be a great leader... You could always start out as an assistant leader (think of it as helping a mom who's already a leader). Being w/o kids you'd have more time to plan activities and such.

My DD has been in GS. Going into her 9th year. Some leaders have been real doozies and then there's the one that ran off with the checking account and never gave the girls their badges they earned.

Goofyforlife, i would want to be an assistant leader for sure, at least for the first several years.

When a adult who is a role model for a group of children does something like take their hard earned funds, something dies in those kids, too sad.

Lisa you should do it while she is sleeping, lol. I mean she doesn't notice when you were cutting her hair, so a tooth should be easy!

Good Evening Everyone! :wave2:

Just checking in. We have had dinner (the chef salads were great :) ), DD had her bath and just went to bed. She was all cute and snugly...boy I am going to miss that someday. DH is around here somewhere and DS is playing Power Rangers so I had a few minutes to check in.

Becka, You have so many posts how did you do that? It can't have all been from this chat room?

I have actually been on the DIS since April 1999 so I have been here quite a while. My current post count is since August 1999 when we first moved over to this format.

I have quite a few posts from this thread but over the years I have probably posted on every board here. :)

Lisa, our minimum wage is approx. $8.00 an hour, even with exchange, WOW! Yes, we pay a little more in taxes, but at minimum you don't pay much, but that is sad. They should value their workforce so much more.

Pj

ah yes, but for that little more in taxes, you have a national health system... What I wouldn't give for that. We pay $1000 per employee family for health insurance, just think of what that family could do with that money if we didn't have to pay for health insurance.

Dreaming :cloud9:

Kim, if you look at your profile you can see that you have 7.44 posts per day average while mine is only 3.04....of course I am sure that my average has been rising since I joined this thread! :teeth:

See I am not quite as chatty as you thought, huh? :rolleyes1
