Since Jordan did not post it here (I know all of you do not know Jordan, but he was Supposed to be on our Geek cruise.

Last night at the ESPN Club in Downtown Disney at Disneyland.

Thanks! I think my interviews went OK. I didn't knock it out of the park but I also didn't mess up too badly so I think I still might have a chance. Thankfully they are wanting to make a decision quickly so I should know by tomorrow afternoon. After interviewing I realized just how badly I want this. I am going to be a bit disappointed if it doesn't work out.

John - did you like GC more than DLH?

I didn't get to see a room in the GC, but it was definitely the nicer hotel. The lobby is fabulous. Very much like WL.

At least you got to DIS!!! I can't believe that I have missed the past month with you guys and have so much to catch up on.

Scary news:
A teen was apparently plotting a Columbine-style attack at our local high school. Luckily, another kid found out about it, and went to the police with his dad. Police found lots of weapons, hand-grenades, etc in the kid's room. The kid had left the district in 7th grade to be homeschooled. The suspect's name hasn't been released, but according to all the kids, the boy was in Elizabeth's year; she had 7th grade science with him before he left school.
Now, Elizabeth switched to an all-girl's Catholic high school this year, so she's not at the targeted school, but Hannah's elementary school is behind the high school (just the athletic fields separate the buildings). So, even though nothing happened, it's pretty scary to think about "what if?"
Oh, and even worse: the kid's mom bought the semi-automatic weapon for him (may have done more!)

That's just all I can think of for that. I hope that he is still locked up and his mother has been charged with something too...even if it is stupidity!

That makes no sense what so ever!!! But then, we aren't suppose to understand it according to them. OK...so these kids are supposed to read through legal documents quickly but not understand them when they grow up?

I did get to go in the GC, but did not get to see any of the rooms. It is an extremely beautiful hotel, and reminds me a lot of Wilderness Lodge. BUT it has a distinct "California" feel to it. It is a bit confusing trying to get around, and I remarked to someone that from the outside, it doesn't look like you could fit this hotel in this space! The California feel may have come as much from the people as from the Hotel. I told Amy even with my short experience in California, I don't think I could ever live there. There is a lot of pretentiousness. Different than the East Coast - hard for me to describe . . .

I have to tell you though, one night I was invited to a wine tasting and dinner at the Napa Rose. It was absolutely wonderful, and I had a great meal and a great time. It too is an absolutely stunning locale.

The next night I ate at Storytellers, and had a great meal there too. The staff was some of the most accommodating that I have ever experienced, even for Disney.

If the pool I saw is the only pool at the GC though, that is a disappointment. It is very small for the large hotel.



I told you Marielle. The Browns found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. What a different game 1st half to 2nd half. Can I even get a break here with ONE team????

The good news is that you will be with all of us, no pretention here. I bowled a frozen turkey down the frozen foods isle trying to get a strike, just so I could win a free turkey. I don't think that is anywere on my list of Emily Post rules.... But it was funny to watch!

DH took Nathan to the doctor this morning and it turns out he has strep. Since Allie had a fever last Thursday they want to treat her with antibiotics as well. Hopefully they will both be 100% real soon and hopefully DH and I don't get it next.

I did hear some news about the DBA position. It sounds like it is now down to two - me and one other person. Unfortunately they were not able to make a decision yet so I don't know when that final decision will be made. I guess I should feel good to know that I made it this far. All I can do now is just hope for good news.

I am so tired. We are having a disaster recovery exercise tonight so I could get called into work any time now. To make things worse when I picked up Allie from daycare this afternoon she vomited all over the car on the way home.

I did not know there were so many little nooks in a carseat. I feel so disgusting after trying to clean her, the carseat and my car up.

Can I please, please, please catch a break sometime soon?

I have been in Columbus the last two days at the annual school board conference. I am conferenced out!

I just got back from work. Hopefully the batch processing will go well and I won't be called in again tonight but I won't hold my breath.

Unfortunately Allie is pretty sick. She hasn't even been able to keep down any water since she got home. She is so sweet when she is sick though. When I was trying to clean her up once she said, "I so sorry Mommy". It just breaks your heart to hear her apologize for getting sick.

Elizabeth just came home with preliminary info about the freshman class trip (for the week after school gets out in June).... to Walt Disney World! Nice plans, too: Flight down and back, 4 nights at Caribbean Beach Resort, 4-day park passes, plus water park day. I want to go!!! But the other kids still have school that week, and someone has to be the responsible adult (and I'm not invited anyway... the teachers/guidance office are chaperoning).
