This was Jake on his first day of preschool last week. He told his dad tonight that he doesn't want to go to preschool 3 days a week...he wants to go 4!!!!!!

He was sad that I wouldn't let him wear his crocs. The fact that he got to wear his brand new Disney shirt helped to compensate!!!

Here he is going to his first soccer practice. He was so excited!!!!

His first game is on Thursday.

Unfortunately my day just got worse and tomorrow's fallout from today will not be pretty.

Same here Becka.... You're not alone... My last few days have been all about avoiding stalker applicants who just can't let me get my work done...

As for dd, it's been a screamfest each night trying to get her to do her homework....

I don't think one of us is going to survive HS. (me or DD)

I feel the need for a spreadsheet!!! Honestly the laundry is so backed up and the house looks like a hurricane went through it. You know how packing goes, you pull out what is easiest and the rest kind of gets left behind. I am going to try to pick up the odds and ends tomorrow after going to talk to the new principal in the am and run a vacume at least in the living room. The leaves are getting track through here pretty badly.

The appraisal was being done at 8:30 this morning. We might close before next Wednesday!!

They changed the ice rink schedule around and now we are going in the morning 1 day a week. This morning was not good. 5:30 is not my friend. Savannah's coach said she was a little wobbily on the ice, but paid attention and did everthing right. Then she slept on the way to school. This is insane. I hope it gets easier!

I found out friday I am going to Berlin next friday. Anyone got any advice?

Battle report...

As of 8:30 a.m. this Friday September 7, 2007 the Graves children will be registered in their new school and away from the institute of substandard learning that they have been tollerating for the past three years. We have won!!!

Sitting here this afternoon filling out all of the paperwork I started bawling. The fact that this is all so close to our goal is a bit overwhelming to me. It shouldn't take so much of yourself to fight for the basic rights of your kids to receive an education. I found it enlightening talking with the new principal this morning. The EOGs are next week for the third grade as their first practice test and she agreed that he needs to be settled in one school so that he can gain the most from the experience. I discussed his placement issues and she said that they want him to be able to learn, not teach other students. I hadn't said that to her but she expressed exactly how I feel. We are going to start him in third grade and see how he does. She said that if his teacher, myself or he feels that he is not challenged by the material she will have no problem moving him up to the fourth grade ASAP. She said that she believes that he will find that he is challenged because he is not going to stand out as the first to finish all the time or one of the only ones in his class to grasp an advanced concept. She said that they have a great deal of gifted students and the teachers use an advanced curiculum....IMAGINE!!!! They teach more than 1 + 0 the second week of school in third grade! Don't laugh! Unfortunately that was one of the problems on his homework worksheet tonight. OY!!!
