I can't believe this thread is almost at 6000 posts already!

I haven't been following much of this thread lately but I thought I'd pop in to read a few tonight.

DV1 - Killer costume bro! I bet people got you confused with the real Capt Jack on your last cruise.

Lisa - Great looking sign! :thumbsup2 I'm still trying to figure out PhotoShop so I can cut out & paste pictures together myself. Not there yet. :guilty:

Not sure if I posted my Pirate Night sign on this thread already but it's up on the DCL door sign thread though.

Here it is anyway.

Yes Kevin it was bad pirate: :lmao: It was actually overwhelming on how many pictures and autographs I did that night ...this time I am bringing the jack sparrow temporary tattoos to give to the kids .. pirate:

I know we chatted a few times over on the Mag sign thread , but its great to know another fellow buffalonian is going to be on the same cruise ...yeah ...

Go Bills ...LOL

Welcome to the December DD group, woj68!!! Is this your first time visiting our thread? I don't have your ID on our cruise manifest. We have lots of stuff planned...but don't let that scare you off. :) All of the info to get your info on the cruise site is in the first post on this thread. It is where we are keeping all the details for DIS meets & other plans together in one place for easy access.

OK, guys! Here is a warning if you look at the site soon. I am trying to list who will be staying at WDW, the airport, & PC before the cruise. It seems like everyone is staying in a different place. :) I will work on that page more later...just ignore it for now since it is just alot of cut & paste info.

Thanks, Kim, but I think that too much is going on with this right now. I have a spreadsheet with everyone's info dividing us into server stations of 18 people each for early, late, and late WLE. As people are sending me info for the website I am asking them if they would like to link up. If I didn't have a fellow DISer who has been there done that with her group before, I would really be up a creek. At least she has forwarded me the info that DCL sent her to help me get this organized. I am wondering if it will be possible for me to email the info to the contact person instead of faxing it in since I don't have access to a fax machine.

Lisa - I can fax whatever you might need if you need assistance. Also - I sent you a PM hoping to solve some mystery families..

Lisa - We're signed up already on the Yahoo board. It's been a while since I posted last, that's why you don't recognize me. Besides, this group of our has gotten so big it's hard to keep track of everybody.

Kevin

Kevin - definitely send Lisa a PM with your info...the site she created is absolutely awesome.

Vegas - pirate: that is an awesome costume!!! You will look perfect on pirate night!!!!

Hi Kevin! Welcome! Send Lisa your info...the site she has done is amazing! Will you be wearing your pirate garb on pirate night?

Lisa - you do whatever you need to! You have done such an awesome job with the site! It will be nice to know who is staying where. Thanks again! :goodvibes

DV 1 your costume looks fantastic. Although, It must have been sweltering wearing that in Vegas.

DD has a pirate costume prepared in Pink and Turquoise. She will be a very prissy and color corodinated pirate.

Would you believe I found a PINK SKULL scarf for her to wear. What on earth made the manufacturer say "skull scarf, let's make it in pink!" There must be a Gen X or Y connection that my feeble old brain can't make.

Mrs. Mork, of course they liked the sweet tea better. :thumbsup2 The south is not as backward as some people think.

I'm glad your feast went over well I know it was a lot of work.

I picked this up off the About.com website. If you want to think of something bigger than pencils but smaller than basketballs it may give you some other inspiration.

"Rosemaria's class was about 20 7-9 year olds, and the other room had about 15 3-6 year olds, all in uniforms. Our gifts fit the 7-9's best, so we stayed there. There was a little 7 year old boy from Britain who was bilingual and did some interpreting for us. And there was also a little boy from Germany who spoke English. The room was very clean but had very few supplies, we didn't see any readers or activity kits, just a small set of shelves with a few things on it. When we arrived the kids were writing in notebooks. We asked Rosemaria to distribute the gifts at her discretion . pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, pencil crayons, chalk, notebooks, solar calculators, English/Spanish workbooks, balls, skipping ropes, toy cars, Frisbees, lollipops. The kids were very excited, I'm afraid we wrecked the lesson for the day. The room had a dry erase board, and I wished we'd brought dry erase pens. Rosemaria said the older class had a chalkboard and she would give them the chalk. Apparently there is a girl called BebeAnna in the older class who speaks English. She said she would give the older absent class some items that fit their age. "
:teacher:

I believe this cruise was in March of 06

That is my kind of pirate!!! :thumbsup2

I don't mean to sound dumb  but how do you get the stuff to the school? Do you just show up like Santa and hand out the goodies?

I want to dress the baby up as a pirate but I am not sure what I will find for her little size. I still don't have a costume for me. I figure I will get one for myself from a Halloween store. DH and DS are both set with Jack Sparrow. They won't look as good as Vegas but at least they will be pirates!

The family in the About.com article took a taxi to the school and showed up like Santa.

I believe the David and Ivan tour may be planning a stop at the school or something similar. Lisa may know more.

I am also under the impression that there's a drop off somewhere. But IDK where.

HMMM... a red and white striped romper with a simple pirate accessory would do the trick. Then the baby could double as a candy cane at Christmas!
