Several of you mentioned the clock issue on the posts. Mine appears to be off by about three hours. Any body know why yet? :confused3

:happytv: Well, mine is also off by an hour but I would imagine that part of your difference is the fact that you changed timezones IRL but not on your user set up on the DIS. :)

I changed my location in my profile. The address can still be called Baltimore but MapQuest and other maps call where we live Nottingham.

I think that sounds much "classier" to say Nottingham. It makes me want to change my screen name to King Brack and the 7 Dwarf Knights of the Round Table. What do you all think? :thumbsup2
:smooth: :dance3:

OK, Brack...I can take a hint. ;) Your website info has been updated as well. :woohoo:

Have to :lmao: at your new title. :)

Here I sit in my bed at the Hampton Inn in Washington, PA and I have just finished reading the "gozillion" posts from you guys on this thread. Do any of you sleep? :confused3 :happytv:

Sleep??? What's that? Glad that you had some reading material tonight. :)

I got a call early yesterday afternoon that my Dad, who has been very ill since a surgery in August, had taken a turn for the worst, was not responsive and not expected to survive. DrHug came home from work and we left for Washington State. With the long weekend traffic it took well over 4 hours to make the usually 2.5 hr drive. He had passed away before we arrived. Sad for us, but he has been in so much pain - infection into the bone in his foot from a bed sore that would not heal - and had no quality of life for all these months that it is truly a blessing for him to be in a better place. He has been home for the last few months, but only able to get up with a walker or wheelchair and get from the livingroom to the bathroom. Occasionally he would go out on the deck and sit in his chair, but mostly just in his recliner. So, we stayed up there with my stepmother and some of the family last night. We returned home late today. We will have a memorial service for him next weekend when family from other states can be here as well.

Brack, glad to see you arrived and are busy with your new job. Reading about your road trip made my head spin! :)

It seems that I have been on the phone constantly for the past 24 hours, but there are still calls to be made. I will check in later. Hope everyone in the NE is safe and all are enjoying the holiday weekend.

Hugs Angie! My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

We lost my father-in-law last year after some years of progressively debilitating chronic disease, so I understand about the quality-of-life issue. And though I miss him dearly, and wish he was around to see his grandchildren grow up, I also know he's walking strong and tall by God's side now.

If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Angie, My prayers are with you at this difficult time. :grouphug: I am glad that your father is in a better place. All of his pain and suffering is gone. I know it is still hard for you and the ones who love him. God Bless.

King Brack I am glad you are back! Sleep....why sleep? We have the DIS to keep us up!

We switch to early church for the summer so I guess I better get moving! Later everyone!

Oh yeah - Lisa - if we are linked with you for the early rotation what day will we have our character breakfast?

Angie, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I will pray for you & your family this week.

Angie,

So sorry to hear about your father, our prayers are with you. Both Amy and I have older parents, mine are in worse health at the moment, and it is very hard to see the health of your parents deteriorate. I took my dad to the doctor the day before we left for the beach. He is 84 years old, and can still get around OK, but he has lost so much weight that he looks like a specter of who he used to be. Mom went to an appointment the same day and is now scheduled for knee replacement.

Once again, our sympathies to you.

We are at the Beach at the OBX, and Lisa is supposed to come over today with the kids to play with Sophia. Beautiful weather here, I took an hour long walk on the beach this morning which was wonderful.

For some reason none of the "wired" phones are working here . . . however, someone was kind enough to leave their wireless internet connection without a password, so I am receiving that and able to check email and talk to you guys. I feel a bit guilty about using someone else's internet connection, but, I won't abuse it - no other way to get on the net without a phone line! :confused3

John

Angie & Dennis - :grouphug:

Many thoughts and prayers coming your way for you and your family.

John and Lisa, have a wonderful beach week!

Thank you all for the :grouphug: and prayers. Good things always come out of bad. Late last night a nephew that had just dropped out of sight and off the radar called me after reading the email I sent to everyone. He is my brother's son and they had not heard from him in months either. He lives in the Portland area, has no car and will be riding up north with us for the memorial service next weekend. :goodvibes Getting back in touch with him made me :)

Angie,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. We are thinking about you here in GA. :thumbsup2

Angie - I am happy to hear about your nephew! That is wonderful!
