When are they saying the rains may stop back there? We had similar floods in 1996. Every road out of this area was gone, either closed by mud slides or washed out. Even though we are on high ground we lost our driveway. Terrible time, we will definately keep you all in our prayers.

I don't know when it will stop. It is calling for rain tomorrow. Some reports are saying that tomorrow will have more rain than we have gotten thus far.

I can't possibly keep up with all of you guys on this thread. I have a feeling I won't know what is going on when. Maybe we need two meet threads...one for chat and another for just cruise details/event discussion. That might help those of us who cannot check in all the time.

My DH has mentioned an interest in the ruins tour in CM. The kids and I would stay on the ship so he would be by himself. You might tenatively count another adult in your plans. Will we need to pay for him in advance?

You pay for the excursion when you get to CM, but when I send in the names it will reserve a spot for that many people.

The website has pages to keep up with the planned excursions and DIS meets. :) I also need to send out an email for linking dining so that I can submit all of the info to DCL. :)

The website has the final information on what has been scheduled but all of the discussions prior about when/where/how, etc.. seem to be taking place here and with so many posts per day it is just difficult to keep up. Does that make sense? I guess I just thought that discussions regarding things like the ruins tour, group brunches, etc.. could be discussed separate from the daily discussions and jokes, etc.. :confused3
 
Here's a copy of the email that I just sent out to the group...for those who are lurking and haven't signed up for the site. :)

I have contacted DCL and have been told that I need to submit a form with our information on it in order to have our groups linked for dining in both the early and late seatings. Please send me the following information so that I can complete the paperwork and get this set up if you would like to link with the DIS group.

First & last name of everyone in your party

stateroom number

reservation number

Becka, I totally get where you are comming from. And, I have two suggestions.

1. Find a buddy to volunteer to PM you when something important is going on. I would be "it" but as we get closer to Dec my work schedule is going to go to :furious: and I won't be very reliable.

or

2. Let's all pick a code word like "cruise events" include in the body of all posts relating to cruise meets and events. Then you can use "search this thread" at the top of the page and isolate the important stuff. I tried doing a search for titles but that doesn't seem to work so the code would have to be in the body of the message.
 
I like the cruise events suggestion. A search would then be easy. :thumbsup2 Great mind, Patsy.
 
Lisa, I sent our info for dining via email. Do you know when they need this info? We will likely have more folks joining as we get closer to cruise time. Will you be able to submit more names later? It is nice to be able to include all who are interested. :grouphug:
 
Angie, I will be sending in the list in the next couple weeks. I believe that the person said that she closed their list 4 weeks before the cruise.

A search for "cruise events" would bring up any post that has "cruise" in it. We will need to come up with a different word that will stand out on its own. A code word in a way. Maybe some like "discussion" or "mickeyplan" or "doubledipplan" that we would put on the first line of a post beginning a plan....like the one I posted about the dining. I am emailing everyone too but there are a couple of emails that are coming back.

You're the search expert. Whatever works for you. I'm all for something short and easy to spell.
 
On our last cruise we got to use the private dining room in Palo. :banana: It was fabulous! Our cruise buddies arranged it before the cruise with the concierge, so I have no first hand experience on how they set it up. One point though... the room is for relatively small groups. We had six and nearly filled the room. (though I am sure they can arrange the tables for more folks)
 
i vote for "mickeyplan", i really don't think that any of us would use it in a normal post. Well maybe Patsy, lol.
