When do you come to visit?

DrHug asked if dinner is on. :lmao: But I think we will have to wait until summer 2008 to set out on our travels. We will be taking short trips this year, of course. We will take it to Montana in March - memo...cancel the hotel. We were thinking we could take it to DL in May also. Will have to do a bit of research about where to park there. This is new stuff to us....BUT DrHug has just found a book we can get that lists over 3400 Sam's and Walmarts across the country. Just can't stay there for several days though while we play at DL. I'm sure there are parks around there.

We finally did it! We bought a motorhome today! :yay: :yay: I'm so glad to just not be trying to decide anymore. We took DD and DSIL with us. They were really helpful in helping us decide. We found a Georgetown 38 foot that has a leather chair with footstool and a small computer desk in the bedroom. It also has very pretty glass doors that close off the bedroom. This was a good compromise for the 5th wheel living room with the french doors that DrHug likes so much, but still gives us the convenience of the motorhome. DrHug took it for a good little test drive and I think we are both very happy with it. We get to pick it up Wednesday - pending financing of course. The list price was $119,500 and we got it for $96,600. So we feel good about that too. :goodvibes

YEAH!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Can't wait to see pictures!

So I don't work on Fri and DrHug has a job on both Fri and Sat at a Walmart on the east side of Portland - probably 35 miles or so (and at least an hour with traffic) from home. So, I suggested we should just take the motorhome and spend the night in the parking lot! :lmao: That way he can "come home" for lunch both days and will only take him about 3 minutes to get "home" on Friday night and he can sleep in on Saturday! By golly, I think it's a plan. Hopefully he will not get a job for Thursday so he can fill up the water tanks and get it ready to roll. How fun! Our first Walmart night and we are not even retired yet! ;) :lmao:

OMG! When I read that first line I thought...just take the MH there & sleep in the parking lot! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Today was mom's birthday. Brought back a lot of memories. She still does not have a headstone, and we went to the cemetary with some flowers. We had to wade through snow and mud to get to the gravesite. Sophia said she wants to grow some flowers this summer in her garden to take to Ya Ya's grave. That would make my mom smile.

On a happy note, here are some pictures from Sophia's Birthday party yesterday . . . BTW, can someone tell me how I lost most of the pictures from my gallery on the DIS photo site?

Great pics, John! When they did the conversion everything from the last 2years disappeared from the gallery. :(

Angie, nice layout, checked it out online. I really like the extra space in the bedroom.

You crazy kids, sleeping in parking lots.

Yep, the extra space in the bedroom is what sold us on this one, which was $10,000 more than the one we had just about decided on before seeing this one. That comfy chair in the bedroom can be a retreat for Dennis where he can play his guitar or read if he needs a bit of alone time.

I downloaded the brochure, and am having serious big gadget envy!

(That doesn't sound good)

Plenty of room in our driveway guys when you come to Ohio!

If it plugs into regular 110 outlet, I have an outdoor outlet for you to plug into too!

Yes, I think Elasto Boy may have the biggest gadget in the group now!! :lmao: :lmao: Ohio is definatly on our list of first places to go. Summer 2008 is the plan, and trips to follow. ROAD TRIP!! :yay: :yay:

So now I am sad because I realized that I have an appt to get my car serviced and the electric side door repaired on Friday. Now we will have to wait another week to try it out. I'm thinking a weekend on the coast. Dennis is a disabled veteran and so he gets free camping at the state parks. :thumbsup2 Just need a tank of gas. :scared1:

Same happened to me John..... Funny thing is there are two left (i musta had 15 or so in there) and the two left aren't even the newest or oldest.....

John and Amy - great pics. The party looks like it was a blast. What a neat place.

Congrats Dennis and Angie on your purchase - can't wait to see pictures!

My sister and her boyfriend came over last night. We went swimming and the girls had a blast but none of us went to bed early and we are paying for it today.

Samantha is singing in the hospital's black history month celebration around lunchtime today so I am going over to the hospital to see her.

that is exciting news!!! Congratulations! Mazel Tov!!

I love those slides too - but I am looking for a baby sized - maybe 26 - 28 foot trailer. hey I am thinking of it like living in a cruise cabin. ;)

the extra amenities sound wonderful. use it in good health and safe driving.

why does Walmart let you park there? eventually you have to empty your tanks and refill the water though right?
