August is a bust because DD might want to join band in HS (flags) and they do stuff before school starts even.

Yes and No ....Dylan has already talked to the coach and they would make arrangments ...Or maybe Dylan would decide not to go ...He is becoming a big boy now so these are things he will have to decide for himself. But 2 a days would be before we left , if he did go he would have to work out on the ship somehow ...I know in the stack they have time that they can work out in the fitness area

OK, I would love to do August, but that is hiring season for back to school, and when new students come in to buy computers for back to school, our season starts mid July. Although I might be moving up to buyer in the next couple of weeks, so it won't matter as much, but it will still be buying season for back to school.

I am going to talk to mom about moving October's cruise to the wb repo. Depends on price and if we can keep the onboard rebooking benefits.

OK Folks this is what I am hearing this morning.

The 'official' announcement for the 2008 sailings will be pushed back until tomorrow 1/18. Not sure if this means that it will be 'unofficially' released before then and the 'official' announcement will be tomorrow - or that the one and only announcement will come tomorrow.

There is no time set for the announcement but it will take place at the Disney Cruise Line offices in Florida and it is not open to the public.

I am also hearing - but this is purely rumor at this point - that the booking date of 1/31 is not set in stone and could be changed.

Wish I had more concrete info for you all. I will do my best to keep you informed as I hear of any changes.

ok, I try not to ask for much but please send me some good luck for this interview. This is a really great company - a for profit one (haven't worked for a "for" in a while) and my interview is Friday at 1:30...HR is emailing me an agenda, so I think it will be how we conduct interviews for the department, going through various levels of people. It has been a while since I interviewed. I am thrilled at the interest though and since I put my salary requirements on there, taking the increase in daycare into account....and they didn't toss me, I think it's a good thing!

Well gang . . .

With all this talk about the Repo cruises, on the eve of the possible announcement, I am going to throw something else out on the wall and see if it sticks. Hopefully none of you that we have changed plans with will want to lynch me if we do this, but I have thought this through logically . . .

(luckily, Canton Ohio is a long drive for most of you)

I already mentioned that we cannot under any circumstances do the August repo due to work. While I could schedule it and be hopeful, I do not want to put my nerves through that at that time, so I will stay away from that timeframe.

That leaves May for us. Now, if we do May, can I pull Sophia out of 2nd grade for one week in December, and two weeks in May? Can I afford two cruises within six months of each other? The answer to both is no. Will I pull Sophia out of school for two weeks to see the Panama Canal and cruise for two weeks? Yes. Can I wait 18 months between cruises to see the Panama Canal? Yes. Do I want to cruise with at least some good friends from last year . . .? Yes.

So where does that lead me? If Disney announces a May repo tomorrow, I plan to (unless Disney announces some ungodly premium for the repo) move my 2008 dummy date to the repo. I will wait to hear from all of you to see what your plans are, and if we want to do the repo, and feel good about it, then I would cancel December 8th 2007, and the repo would become our 2007 AND 2008 cruises combined. We would put off our next plans then until Jan/Feb 2009.

I think I must have missed this way early on, but do you have a fear of flying? We have a good good friend who is and has to get totally smashed and take sedatives before he gets on a plane. He is a total waste for a day and a half. I feel horrible for him!
