Am I expecting too much? AAAARRRRGGGGG!

From the male species (ok except for maybe John...) Yes it's expecting too much... They just don't notice these things...

Now maybe if you put Nathan in a skirt and ballet shoes he may get the picture... But even to my DH..oh is it blue? Then it's jeans...

I always had to lay stuff out or be prepared for the outcome...

Men...Can't live without em'...Can't shoot em'

See I kind of feel that saying he is just a guy is a cop out. I mean he knows not to dress himself in a tank top during a day like today doesn't he? Why should his son be any different? :confused3 I can understand some color matching issues, etc.. but if he put on a shirt that came down below his knees I am sure he would figure out that it didn't fit. Why is it different when he is dressing someone else? :confused3 I mean what would happen if I was not around - what would he do then?

My thing is that if he is smart enough to be a chemist he should be able to learn how to dress two kids in clothes that are not 3-4 sizes too big or small and that are appropriate for the weather conditions. He has had almost 5 years of practice now. I admit I am crabby but this is just one of so many things like this. I swear he just acts like he can't figure it out so I won't ask him to do it. When I pointed out today's dressing issues he told me that I always criticize him about dressing the kids and that I should just do it. I think I had a right to tell him he made wrong choices today...I couldn't let the kids wear what he had them in could I? Apparently I should have just so he would not have felt "criticized".

It is like having a 3rd kid and honestly after 10 years of marriage I am just fed up with it. :sad2:

OK guys can I vent here? I swear sometimes I don't understand DH. Is it just that he is lazy or :confused3 or what!!!

I was in the bathroom getting ready while he was giving the kids breakfast and getting them dressed. I come into the living room when I am done and I find the kids. Nathan is dressed in a TANK TOP and Allie is wearing one of her brothers shirts that is obviously 3-4 sizes too big and it hanging down below her knees. :confused3 WTH!!!! We have a winter storm warning and he thought a tank top was OK? Also how could he fail to notice how large the shirt was on Allie. :confused3

WHY???? Could someone please explain this to me? I just don't get it. Last week he put a pair of 2T sized ruffled jeans on Nathan and when Nathan complained they didn't fit DH ignored him. :sad2: Nathan came running to me to tell me there was a problem with his pants. Ya think??? I can't even figure out how he got them on in the first place.

I do sometimes lay out the kids clothes the night before but honestly a lot of the time I just don't remember but I really can't figure out hard hard it can be to pick out clothes for the kids each morning. He puts the wrong clothes on the wrong kid, he puts things on backwards, he puts them in clothes that are obviously wrong for the season (sweatshirts in July, tank tops in February), etc.. Am I expecting too much? AAAARRRRGGGGG!

DrHug never got the kids dressed, fed and ready for daycare or school, so I don't know if you are expecting too much or not????:confused3 ;)

Just so everyone is aware DH does not normally have to do everything in the morning by himself. Typically we wake up and he gets the kids breakfast (cereal, waffles, etc.) and he eats with them (I don't eat breakfast). I get ready and dressed for work while they eat and then after they eat they get them dressed. I come in after I have finished getting dressed and take over wherever he may be so he can get ready. Sometimes they are still eating, other times they are in the middle of dressing and sometimes they are already dressed so it is not as if he has to dress them everyday but I will admit that most of the time they are ready to get dressed before I am finished. I usually finish them up by finding shoes (that are always lost....I think they walk off by themselves), gather coats, finishing with their hair, wiping faces/hands, gather extra needed stuff for school, etc.. before we leave.

I am pretty bad with kid's clothes too . . . mostly matching issues - color, etc. and girl's clothes . . . forget it! But . . . Amy needs to read this to find out exactly how really GOOD I am!

:rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

:grouphug: BECKA :grouphug:

I have to say that when it really matters, DH can get both of the kids dressed appropriately. If it is a weekend and we aren't going anywhere special DD will pick out her clothes. Sometimes they match...sometimes not so much. She is learning though. I just have to smile when she comes downstairs with everything including a headband that doesn't match and is pushing her hair up. :rotfl:

UGH! I am falling asleep here. :( DD woke me up at 2:30 this morning to wipe her butt. I needed to do more than that. The poor thing had it plastered to her and the skin was already red and blistering. I moved her to her bed and smelled something upstairs but couldn't pinpoint what it was. I don't thing anything had happened yet because holding her would have made me get the source quickly. I guess she would have slept thru the night in her bed. I tossed the diaper rash ointment a few months ago when I cleaned out the cabinet so I couldn't get anything until I took DS to school. Kaitlyn got cleaned up even more & aired out with a good coating of cream for an hour before I took her to school. She said that she didn't feel sick & doesn't have a fever and ate breakfast so I am just going to keep the phone by the bed just in case. I sure don't miss cloth diapers!!!

Becka....DH rarely gets the kids dressed and definitely not during the week as he is up and gone by 6am. He helps me on his day off but only after I pick the outfits out.

I do have to say he's got the good end of the deal...he only has to get himself up, dressed and off to work....I have three people to get ready before getting out the door and then a stop at daycare. But then he does agree to many Disney trips and lots of frivilous purchases.....

Maybe it is because he has been doing the laundry and doesn't know what clothes go where?:confused3 DH has been very lucky that we have all girls, but he has gotten the size thing and the front/back thing wrong before...

Ah, the old "You're not allowed to tell me I am wrong or you will hurt my feelings " deal! :rolleyes1 I would have just let him take them out that way (but put a sweatshirt or something in Nathan's bag for the teachers to put on). They know you aren't feeling well.

I do see your point very clearly about applying what he does for himself to the kids.

I just got done a daunting task.:headache: Dina was writing out her V-day cards. Fun, fun for me!

John may not be able to always match the colors correctly but he does know the seasons and what to wear when.

The real problem is Sophia! She wears summers clothes all the time. She runs around the house in shorts and her bathing suit and it is -20 degrees outside!!

I''ve never seen ketchup chips. Ooh salt and vinger and then Dover dark choc br. That sounds yummy. I like the Black pepper kettle chips. Gee, we haven't had chips in our house in ages.

We've had them up here since I was a kid, and chips were in that paper back tin-foil type bag. And yes chips then some smarties is fabulous. Has anyone tried dipping popcorn into fondue? :cool1:.

Chip off the old block.

Just like her mom!

How about dipping potato chips in chocolate ice cream?
(the saltier the chips, the better)
