Sounds awesome!! Can I drive there??:rolleyes1

Good morning! DrHug's happy birthday today.:woohoo: He is home sleeping in. The bum! We "celebrated" Saturday night at dinner with DD and some friends. DD#1 likes to take Dad out to dinner for his B'day. He FIL b'day is only one day from his, so they take both Dads out. I get to tag along! :)

:yay:
HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY DRHUGS!!!
:yay:

Okay, I am absolutely freaking out and someone needs to talk me down....

Sarah has had off and on pain in her leg for the last few months. At first I thought it was growing pains but now (thanks to the power of Google) I am completely worrying myself into thinking it's bone cancer.

I have an appt with the doctor tomorrow. I need some good thoughts -- I don't know how parents with sick kids do it - I'd be a wreck. Jill is my hero right now!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
My niece had leg cramps just about her whole life. Heck, I think she still has them at age 22! Nothing major, just cramps from time to time. Please keep us posted and think happy thoughts!

Well we got back from Nathan's allergy testing and the verdicts are in. He is allergic to the following:

Foods: corn, potato, tomato, wheat, egg white, soy, milk, pork, barley, malt
Non-Foods: grass, pigweed, ragweed, elm, feathers, candida

:scared1:

We have a lot to learn I am afraid. His allergist wants to focus on the milk and corn allergies right now so we have to eliminate all of that from his diet. The milk will be hard but I think it is doable. She warned us with the corn to avoid high fructose corn syrup. That stuff is in EVERYTHING!!!! This is going to be very difficult.

DS is already quite upset because several of his favorite foods are now not allowed. It is hard for a 4 year old to understand that is making him sick.

I don't wish bad luck on anyone else but I think I have had my fair share by now. I just really want to get off this ride I am apparently on.

I had almost forgotten to pick up DD from school today. She had to stay after for section practice for band. Speaking of band, DD's report card came today. She got all A's except for a B plus in band. The 4 page report she had to do for missing the parade and concert (2 pages for each thing missed) could only get as high as a 90 for a grade (sorry, but that is bull to me) and she missed her last lesson by accident, and couldn't make it up in time. She tried really hard to, offering to come in any time for it. Sorry, just had to gripe about it. It's annoying me, not Sarah.

It's annoying me too! Oh and we have a really cute picture of Sarah too.

Joy - more than likely it is just growing pains but you should probably still have it checked out. I have talked to a few parents here over the last few years whose kids had those growing pains as well and they all were concerned but everyone of them turned out to be fine. I think it is one of those situations were the vast majority of times it is fine so try to think of that instead of those google search results. :)

Thanks to all who are thinking about me. I am in quite a bit of pain today. My Dr. had already prescribed the 800mg of Ibuprofen for me to take every 8 hours. I have a meeting from 1-2 today and I may decide to go home after the meeting, take some pain pills and rest before DH and the kids get home.

DH has been all put out that he has had to deal with the kids all this time. He is really taking his frustration out on the kids and it is driving me crazy. He is really frustrated with me but he can't show it because he thinks that would make him the bad guy. I mean really who can be mad at the wife for breaking a rib and being in pain? :sad2: Instead he can just be mad at the kids because they dare to ask him to get them a drink and interrupt something he was doing. I am really fed up with his attitude about it all. I know the kids are not perfect all the time but he is getting worked up over just normal kid behavior stuff and then he starts yelling at them. :sad2: The whole thing is just making me mad and unfortunately there is no a whole lot I can do right now.

Just keep in your head that this will pass and your life will get back to normal.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh, Becka! :grouphug: My goodness that is quite a list! Soy milk not an option either! OY! What is the child going to eat?

Oh yeah, almost forgot . . .

School is cancelled tomorrow too! Sophia is doing the happy dance!

(Do you know when a snowstorm is coming here, the tradition is to wear your pajamas inside out, and put ice cubes in the toilet to hope for a snow day? No kidding)

Anyway -4 tonight, and more deadly windchill until tomorrow afternoon.

Kids do the PJs inside out but I'll have to tell them about the ice cube thing!:lmao:

Awww, poor kid, those are such common foods. :sad2: Potatoes? That means no french fries. tomatoes= no ketchup, salsa, etc. Pork = no ham sandwiches. My kids would starve to death. :sad2:

What happens when he eats those? Does he break out or just feel cruddy?

I'm so sorry Becka, you really have had more than your fair share of bad luck lately. :headache: Praying your luck takes a turn for the better. Heck, I think you need to win a lottery or something to level out this string of luck.

He has skin rashes and always has that cause him to itch a lot along with some other symptoms. He might feel somewhat cruddy but honestly he probably would not know the difference - that may be all he knows. :sad2:

I agree that I should win the lottery - maybe then I could afford my very own private chef/nutristionist to help us deal with this.

I know DCL is supposed to be good with allergies but do you think they will be able to accomodate DS?

Becka- How bad are the allergies? Sophia had testing done and several things showed-- blueberries being the worst by far. The DR said the others should just be watched and given in moderation.

wow Becka.....that's eliminates so much! I do hope you guys can find a happy medium with his food re the allergies.

and I agree....your luck has to hit the lucky lotto soon!

Sophia has a reaction to Peanut Butter, not the deadly kind, thank goodness, but if she eats too much she will get a sore stomach. She has several items that will cause rashes or just make her feel yucky if she eats too much.

Of course outside of food Sophia's biggest things are bunnies, and horses, her favorites. She always insist on going to the bunny hut at the fairs and she loves to rides ponies! Makes her break out and her asthma acts up. I hope she will grow out of it!!

Hey, I keep forgetting to post . . .

Did anyone else get the DCL triangle car Magnet with Goofy on it like we did?

Very cool, but afraid to put it on the car for fear it will fall off with all the snow, ice, and salt.

So it's on the fridge for now.

I did get one of those from our Jan cruise. On the fridge as well.:thumbsup2

I know she is most concerned about the milk/dairy and corn allergies and that is why we are eliminating those entirely over the next 3 months....somehow... :confused3

He will start taking the drops next week for 6 weeks. I think the ultimate goal is to kind of "detox" him, do the drops to develop some better responses to the allergens and then very carefully monitor him and put him on a kind of rotation diet. This way he may fine that he can eat bowl of cereal with milk maybe once a week or that he can have pasta with tomato sauce every 4-5 days.

Nathan has never been a very picky eater so that will help but I just feel so bad for him. So many of his favorite foods are not forbidden and he is just so sad. DH has allergies to legumes so at least Nathan understands about allergies making people sick a little but it is still hard to look at his face when I tell him that chocolate milk, Frosted Flakes (heck every cereal we have in the house currently has corn syrup in it), ice cream, lasagna, yogurt, etc.. is not something he can't have. It just breaks my heart for him.

The pie is in the oven. Should be done in about 10 min. It is smelling ggggooooodddd!!! DrHug is talking to his cousin who is very jealous because DrHug has a wife that can bake an awesome apple pie AND loves football!! I :lmao: when he said that a couple of years ago. :lmao: I made this pie in record time. I left work at 3:45, it is at least an hour drive (I didn't time it today, but..) and I had the pie in the oven at 5:20! Half hour from the time in the door until pie in the oven. :cool1:

You are so awesome Angie!! Dina was asking me today what was being written in your sig.:rotfl:

DS wanted a snack a little while ago and we finally came up with raisins. I also found out that his favorite bagels have corn syrup in them (hopefully we can find some that do not) and of course cream cheese is now not allowed. :sad2: I also feel bad because I don't want to eat a bagel and cream cheese in front of him when he can't have it but then again I don't want Allie to not have it at the same time. This is just going to be very hard.

So true Lisa! I wouldn't even have to think about it. I wouldn't care if it were going to :scared1: Canada! (;) PJ)

I would still have to fly to the port, and it is cheaper to fly to Mco then anywhere in Canada, lol.

Pj

I agree with this, PC or not, there are just some things we are each better at, not meaning that the other can't do those things, it's just easier.

I finally figured out what this PC stood for.:lmao: It has been confusing on the other thread with Port Canaveral, Panama Canal, etc, then you guys threw this one in.
