YEAH!!!! I am feeling much better now. :) After DH left I sat down & pulled out the matching Ts....we have 6 sets of them. I wrote down each day & noted when we would NEED to wear them. LOL! CB onboard, Chef Mickey's, MK, TWMA, last morning, & boarding. Once I decided which one will be worn which day I stacked them in piles & put a post it on the top to mark the pile. Add shorts & jeans, socks, etc and the packing was much easier to sort thru. I put many things back in DD's room because there simply isn't a need for them, along with a few things for me. I would guess that I am over 1/2 way thru the packing process for DD, DS, & myself. :woohoo: Now to open the suitcases!!!

V - you can past right by this.

JOHN or BRACK!

Tonight is the Christmas parade that Sarah is in. What setting will be best to take pictures. It will be dark, but on a lit street. TIA!!

Ok, my shot...tell me I'm wrong...

Setting your ISO higher may create a little static in your photos but higher ISO will allow the camera to require less light to begin with. Set your aperture to a lower number (larger depth of field).

Using a slower shutter speed and tripod may be good for still photos but moving parade floats will cause blurring....Try to keep the camera as still as possible to prevent movement and blurring anyway.

I also read somewhere that setting your White Balance to "tungsten" may help as this is the kind of light that is used in parade float light bulbs...

Your camera has so much more than ours does so I can only guess the other benefits over ours. Your probably has differnet flash settings to compensate for nighttime... :confused3

John/Brack, anything to add or correct? Let me know cause I am still learning too...I can see the need to get good shots during our trip and your help would be great! popcorn::

I'm JEALOUS, I repeat JEALOUS!

Lisa you are an inspiration to packing - you're post sounds so...calm. This is the single largest calamity in my life. I can handle major catastrophes but packing ---it puts fear into my bones. :sad2:

DD came back from the party with a hurt ankle - she tripped (of course she was skipping and running). It's a little swollen. I did everything not to freak out that its cruise time next week. She did have a good time which is great. At what point do I wrap us all in a hermetically sealed bubble?

DD will want Rainforest Cafe or Friendlys (neother of those will happen with DH).

I am way behind, but I saw this when I posted, and just wanted to tell Andy he is learning a lot!

My preference for this kind of shooting is to set the ISO speed as high as it will go (1600 on the xt) and set the camera to shutter priority (TV). Even at ISO 1600, I find the "noise" in the photos acceptable for night or show action shots. All my Magic show shots were shot at ISO 1600. I then set the shutter speed to a speed that I think will stop the motion (at least 1/125 - maybe 1/250 experiment) make sure that the flash is turned OFF also. That will make sure you stop action, and will automatically set the aperture for the exposure. Also set the photo quality to the highest.

You can set the lighting to Tungsten if you want, but that is really for what we think of as "white" light bulbs. If there are colored lights, that does not apply as much. The other nice thing with digital, is you can color correct in the computer, instead of in the camera, so you don't HAVE to do that kind of setting unless you want to.

I know you are gone Caroline, and I'm sorry I did not see this sooner.

Pretty neat stuff, eh Andy!

OK I see you guys are slacking today. How will you hit 64K by tonight? :confused3

It is as if everyone has more important things to do than post.....like packing! ;)

The good news (or bad depending on how you choose to look at it) is that we let the kids (yes both of them) out to play in the snow again today and I played with the new camera. I took 113 pictures but don't worry I will only post half of them! ;)
