I've started pulling everything out and packing, too.
I see you're taking a cooler - I wondered who all was doing that and what they are taking on in it??

diana
We are. This is the first time we have brought one. I shipped it to the resort with wine in it. We will use it as a carry-on returning home to carry souveneirs.

We are back at home....finally. It has been a really long day. I don't know how much I will be able to catch up but I will try so excuse me while I respond to posts from 100 pages ago.

Unfortunately both DS and I are sick right now but hopefully now that we are back home we will start feeling better. At least we will sleep better in our own beds.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

It's funny, I have at least one ticket each of A,B,C,D and E in the coupon books. I apparently was not into commando park touring back then. :confused3

By the way it was 1976, and an adult ticket book was $7.25, and a junior ticket book was $6.75.

The tickets are now one of my favorite WDW souvenirs.

Very rare items nowadays. Very eBayable I bet, although I wouldn't do that unless I had a big bunch of them. We used to have a drawer full of the ticket books, but they are gone now. They were from Disneyland in the 50's and 60's. We may have them in a box somewhere, but I doubt it. I'd like to have them for a scrapbook.

I also forgot to mention that we don't have docs here yet. I was really hoping they would be here when we got home. Maybe tomorrow.... :)

You & me both. I just finished the cruise group. I have to bring home the paper cutter tomorrow to cut the name tags & magnets. I still have to do family xmas cards but was even thinking about skipping this year. they all know we are going & know how stressed I am getting about work, life, kids, house, dogs, the whole 9 yards.

so how long does it take for them to clean up after themselves? DD loves making stuff but I still can't convince her that she needs to do clean up afterwards. she really does have a good hand at cooking. she likes to try new recipes but really doesn't like to cut things up. we had meatloaf that had really big chunks of onions & green peppers. when I asked her about it, she told me that she is afraid of cutting herself. I have a chopping thingy but heck I am not even sure how to use it.

My Mom had a new chopping thingy that she showed me over Thanksgiving that I want to get. I have seen an infomercial for it and I kind of laughed thinking it really couldn't work but when I used my Mom's I loved it. It is the Chop Wizard and it even did tomatoes without turning them to soup.

Well, now the inside is done . . . all but Sophia's Princess tree that we will wait for her to come and do.

What an AWFUL Brown's game . . . glad I didn't go . . . 30-0! Congratulations on embarassing us in our own house Missy!

I would be stressed, but I am too tired to be stressed!

John1
I really felt bad for the browns. they even started bickering at the end. we have had that kind of season for many years, well I think I may have even been a decade or two.

IKWYM about being tired. I went out and finished up three more kids xmas presents today while DH & DD put up outside xmas lights and inside ceramic items. MIL & FIL every year give us a hand made ceramic xmas item. they do such beautiful work & I love bringing it all out this time of year. It really helps since the tree is not going up until we get back

Happy Thanksgiving DIS geeks!! How is everyone doing? I am 700 pages behind now so please forgive me if I just jump in and don't even try to catch up.

We're in Charlottesville, VA right now visiting my parents for T Day tomorrow. On Saturday JP (who is 6 and 364/365 today) had his last basketball game for the fall season, then we got in the car and drove all night to get here by noon. We only stopped for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants -- Steak n Shake. John and Amy, do you have this where you are in OH? They don't have one in MN and we just LOVE it.... By the way, that's about 20 hours in the car for those who are keeping track.

As soon as we arrived in Cville on Sunday, my whole family, including my brother and his wife and kids (who flew in from Calgary), 1 sister, parents and me Paul and the kids all drove 2 hours away to the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. The only person missing is my sister who lives in London. She moved there in April and I have not forgiven her yet. We had a lot of fun at the waterpark for a few days, left our mark on an Outback restaurant (my 1 and 3 year old niece and nephew had the mother of all screaming matches, oy), then drove back here to the parental abode just outside Cville. Right now everyone but me and my SIL and the 2 little ones are at a UVA basketball game. Tomorrow's the big turkey dinner, then Friday everyone is going to see Happy Feet before the Husker football game is on TV -- an annual must see event since me, dh, db and dsil all went to UNL.

Anyway, that's what we've all been up to, hope you are all enjoying this holiday week as well. I am SOOOO excited about the cruise and seeing you all, it seems so close now!

I know this is from Wednesday but it has been so long since we heard from you that I still felt compelled to post and say Hi!

I have set up a group photo account at snapfish.com. Everyone can upload to their own album and everyone can order prints from it. :)
can you explain snapfish.com to me? sorry, I am so behind on internet stuff. I can get my pc to do alot but I still have not ventured out too far onto the net. you guys are having an influence on me though. DH is a little concerned about all the ebaying and computer time I am putting in. :surfweb:

For Dody, and anyone else flying who wants to buy a snowglobe on the ship....please ask me or anyone driving to FL to take it home and ship it via FedEx (with insurance included) so that you don't have to check it with your luggage & not have it insured. :)
Thanks, Lisa!!!

I told one of our group (that didn't believe we could bring water and liquor onboard) that if for some reason, they wouldn't let us carry it on, there would be people driving in and we could ask them to hold our beverages in their cars while we sailed!! :rotfl:

Corona for DH. Water bottles for all of us on excursions. Probably some Coke Zero so that I can splurge & feel a little better about it. Juice pouches for the kids when we go off the ship. We have done this every year. I might just pack a couple wine coolers for me.

I think I missed something here...do we need flash drives?? :confused3

I figured yours and bracks would be waiting on your doorstep. I hope you had a nice time eventhough you and DS got ill. get a good nights sleep and it will make all the difference in the world. Feel better pixiedust:

BTW - perhaps if Lisa had time, she would post on the web page all of us now on meds . . .

Amy picked up the Zpack and prednisone for me today. Sinuses are raging, throat is sore, and I needed antibiotics and steroids to nip it in the bud. As long as I visit my allergist twice a year, they will always call it in for me on my semi-annual change of seasons URI.

John1

Add me and DS to that list. The sore throat is killing me! :sad2: I am just trying to hold out for a few more hours until I can take some Nyquil.

Speaking of wine; I think those who were asking about finding a wine/liquor store on the way to the ship, may be able to order wine online, or by phone, and have it shipped to the resort. The wine store in Key West was very reasonable and shipped wine to us in Oregon. I bet they would ship to the resorts. Any wine shop may be able to ship an order before embarkation date. I always buy at least 1 or 2 bottles aboard ship too, but the wine package is way to much $$.

That is the best thing about them! They are also small enough that DS can pull it along off the ship. :thumbsup2
