I only have a Canon S3 Si, but I know I can add lenses to it in the future, so will have lots of space for that. And getting a bigger "house" later would not be hard. I went with red and a purple case for my cell phone to hook on the outside.

PJ I must have missed something. What is this bag? Is there a picture? :confused3

Sorry Lisa, Carry over from the Big East days... :thumbsup2

Sorry, seeing that really threw me. With such a wide spread group I know that many rivalries are out there. I guess sports has been added to THE list. You know....politics and religion. :teeth:

Another oxymoron!

but I agree with the photos. I have seen their stuff on that thread before(yes I subscribe to it as well) and they are cool.
:thumbsup2

Brack search for crumpler at local retailers, I think some bought at Circuit City on sale.

Going to a parade today in Westminster MD...DW found out that they will have Berners in the parade and got the information for us to be in the parade too...Abby loves the attention and always acts differently when she is around other Berners; she just knows that these other dogs are just as goofy as her! Maybe we can get pictures...I need to figure out all the bells and whistles and buttons on our camera to get good pictures - BEFORE the trip.

Ok, we got back from the parade in Westminster.

Joy, read your post about your buddy....very sorry to hear about him...he will be missed. It must be hard to lose a friend that close - its going to be hard when Abby or Casey will reach that point; I don't look forward to it but I know it is something that needs to be accepted. :grouphug:

The parade....
Besides being chilly, it was fun. Abby had a blast. She was just bopping along soaking in all the attention...people were like, what kind of dog is that, she's gorgeous, etc etc. Abby loved it...Kris walked her and Devon was on candy handout duty....I was the supervisor for Devon...."Devon, over there...Devon, kids on the left, Devon keep up...Devon kids on the right..." She had fun too.

So many people came up afterward and wanted to pet her and ask questions (the dog...)...some had never seen a Berner before...It was a good time. The only thing was that the parade ended and no one knew how to get back to the staging area and our cars and it was getting dark...We asked a policeman and he was helpful - we made it!

Dude - a dog in our club who does "drafting" or pulling carts - Berners are known for their carting abilities

so can I ask about th epolicy of not sending clothes to the warehouse?

I was planning on sending the costumes in our box to the warehouse - how would they know they are in there? is that a big no-no? is it purely a weight issue or what?

thanks again.

The only thing that I have read a restriction about is water/liquids. Nothing about clothing.

ROFL! :)

I just ordered a white long sleeved shirt for DS to wear one of the formal nights. If it doesn't get here in time he has a short sleeved one. ;) He needs one either way.

Yes, I had to order it online because there isn't a single size 8 in this town. :(

Hi everyone. Ernie hadn't really moved since Wednesday, except when we forced him to stand up and go outside. I don't think he was eating either. We decided to take him to the vet this morning. We also decided to bring the kids with us to say goodbye. I told them that the vet was going to send him away so he could feel better (not a lie, right?) but Nick (7 1/2) was a little too smart for that story -- he's really very empathetic -- and started crying when we told him it was time to say goodbye. Which then set me off. I was just fine up until that point. He's still a little sad -- he said "it's hard to say goodbye to an old friend." Ugh. But I think he'll be okay and I felt it was important that we didn't rob the kids of a chance to say goodbye. I think, in a few years, they would have been sad that they didn't get the chance to, otherwise. Sarah doesn't really understand -- she just knows that Ernie was sick and he's gone away. Nick hasn't said the words but I think he knows he's gone. DH and I have made our peace. We went to the gym to workout afterward and I spent a good half hour just sweating it out. I know it was the right thing to do... Ernie had been sleeping on his paws so much the last few days that he was surely going to lose them to gangrene or something. Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes and hugs -- I really appreciate them! I joked to DH that I needed a canine grief counselor, and he said "do you really?" and I said "no, I've got friends on the DIS for that". He said to go ahead and post away!

Love the pictures. Spent the holiday weekend dog-sitting my parents Berner, very sweet dogs.
They are really cool...they are so friendly and lovable...Abby has such a personality that its just funny to look at her, you can imagine what thoughts are going through her head; I wish she could speak... :rotfl: She always has that "I'm a good dog, give me a cheeseburger" look!

The group we were with was another local Berner club. The clubs do what they can to rescue Berners from unfortunate situations and get them new homes. There are some really weird stories behind some of the rescues but they are all good dogs. We went to learn about Abby becoming a therapy dog, who would go into senior homes and schools for troubled kids and mentally retarded, etc institutes...We listened to a speaker a few weeks ago who said its like nothing he's ever seen; the happiness of some of the patients and residents in those places is rewarding....Abby is a jumper sometimes so I worry she may not work out; I think DW thinks she will do fine. She has a lot of growing up to do...she's only 20 mo. old! (Abby, not DW)

I was thinking the same thing Carla - that I was going to cancel the spa treatments because they really are overpriced and I have not gotten the facial I wanted to before the cruise and now I am completely out of time.
and why am spending this crazy amount of money even though this is supposed to be my treat.

we were also thinking of cancelling the catamaran sail because we could have just as much fun driving the jeep around the island for a lot less money and there are other chances to snorkel anyway.

what's this all about? buyer's remorse?
