I ok, finally caught up. The conference was ok, but a lot of talking and sitting.

On the way home, i thought I would just check out the DS and see what was on sale. Randy and Jane, the managers were on stage. We got to talking, Jane asked if I had been on any cruises lately? I said leaving in two weeks, lol.
They both asked if they could come, I said two empty beds in my room.
Randy said I should work with them.
I replied, not going there Randy. I have applied 6 times for part-time, full-time and seasonal, nothing!
Randy, handed me a application, said fill it out and we will do your paperwork tonight, for a per diem position, later evenings setting out stock and doing mark-down and such. The deal is, if they call you and you can't work three times, you are off the list, thats cool.

Then we got to talking as he signed me up as an employee, (woohoo) he asked my salary at the Computer store and if I would be interested in being a lead, that he would talk to HR and see if they could meet my current salary. I said I might be interested, but let's see how it goes first. We sat backstage and talked for about an hour. I go in for training on Thursday.

We did a back to back cruise on the Magic in January 2004. The Saturday we returned and stayed on board it was very cool on deck.

That must be a wonderful feeling not having to get off!

Lisa - I am gathering from that thread that cash and non cash gifts are pooled - it mentioned giving a non cash gift to a specific counselor - would that be a candy gift or something like that?

If you don't want it to be pooled it doesn't seem like there are too many simple options - I have no idea what to buy as a non cash gift that could be given to one person.

Gift card for WM. (sorry John1) There is one nearby that the CM bus takes them to.

We took several of these with us on the 10 day cruise and gave them to special CMs in one of those small stockings with a thank you card. Which reminds me, DrHug needs to get the CM thank you cards printed up also. Last year we gave one to the lady that helped us get on the DCL bus and I swear she had tears in her eyes!

DH couldn't figure out why I didn't want to go to his parent's this week. When I told him I needed to put up the tree etc & pack he said that we have 3 weeks to pack. Um...no we don't...we leave in 15 days!!!! That's just over 2 weeks. Nothing from DH in response. Maybe he gets it now?

DH is starting to get it here too. He was asking when we were getting back. One of his employees is leaving for Arizona on the 14th. So????

It's really cool. I was watching DGS and his friend playing a baseball game on it, a few minutes ago. You actually swing the controller lke a bat and your arm like a pitcher. IT IS AWESOME!

2 weeks....wow, that snuck up quick. I better ask for some vacation time from work soon...

Ihaven't seen that yet. Isn't it about an Oregon teacher? Or was it filmed here? I remember when it came out, but we don't get out much. LOL.

You would die if you saw our tree. It probably looks like something Nathan and Allie put together themselves. We don't do any theme except for memories. I try to buy ornaments each year that reflect something special and/or new from that year. Then I also buy ornaments that reflect things the kids or we are interested in so we have a weird mismesh of ornaments. None of them are perfectly spaced or coordinated.

My parents did sort of the same thing and I loved to pull out old ornaments and remember the memories that went with them. Unfortunately for my parents final military move the box with our Christmas ornaments was lost. It was a terrible loss and while my parents had many Hallmark ornaments that were actually worth some $$ that the Army could pay to replace they could not pay to replace the glittered pine cone I made in 1st grade or the ornaments we always had bought for our pets. It has really brought me some comfort to do something similiar in our family and it makes decorating the tree so much fun.

When we were decorating yesterday I just about cried a few times remembering why we bought some ornaments and I think Nathan liked hearing about the ones that involved him. My tree may not look fantastic to any one else but we love it!

Is there a Wal-Mart or someplace like that close to the Radisson in Cocoa Beach? We may need to stop by after our dinner on Friday night. I cannot find DS's sandals...I think they disappered in his room at the end of the summer. Plus I only have one pack of swim diapers and I might like to pick up a few more before the cruise. They are not exactly a needed item here in Missouri this time of year.

I have swim diapers somewhere in this house... leftover from years ago and didn't want to throw them out. gimme a few minutes....

DS thinks he is a pretty big shot pin trader. I don't mind him trading most pins but he & I sit down and figure out which ones are keepers. we had to do that after he had a real bad run in with a guy in downtown disney. he tried to convince DS that he needed to trade everything on his lanyard for one pin. luckily someone stepped in and said no way. he is really proud of his incredibles pins. he was able to get all the incredibles after about 18 months. I found the last one on ebay and surprised him last xmas. he really was thrilled.

he will be bringing some pins to trade. hopefully he can meet up with you guys.

Taking advantage of a kid is just so WRONG!! Glad someone stepped in.
