Don't you hate that... I had to wait two hours to vote in the last presidential election. (For the record i did NOT vote for Bush. Neither did the rest of my state)

Our polling place was so disorganized. Apparently everyone voting had the last names M-S. Instead of putting more people on that check in point. The other lines were empty and my group had to wait and wait and wait...

I did early voting because I was in AZ this week. No line. It was great!

Hi Everyone

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was quiet. Autumn went to grandma's for the weekend so I could have a stress free weekend. Thank God for my parents. I do not think I could survive with out them. Autumn goes for a pre op appt tomorrow and has an MRI on the 20th. From there they will decide when the next surgery will be. We will forsurely hold off till after the cruise and hopefully after xmas. We decide will will definately have to take her scooter with us on the trip cause she does not have the strength the walk long distances right now. I think she can handle about 2 blocks. Its going to be a tight squeeze in the cabin, we checked to see if there was any handicapped rooms left and there was none. I was surprised when I found out that non handicapped people can request these rooms. I guess I should have thought of this when we booked oh well no big deal.

I have been packing slowly over the last week and will finish everyone thanksgiving weekend. Only need to buy a few things still thankfully all little things. We are getting so excited to go. I managed to find our arcade cards from the last trip. Hopefully they still work.

Jill

I'm glad you got some stress free time. My DH & I were the primary caretakers for his younger brother when he had lukemia. He lived with us for 10 months while DD was 2 yo. My DH gave bone marrow twice & we thought he had beat the darn stuff. But he developed emphazema at the ripe age of 24. He smoked after the radiation & chemo treatment because he was stressed out. He was unable to stay with his parents because of "cleanliness" issues. I remember thinking how much I would love to be in my own house with just DH & DD. I loved my brother in law but it was extremely rough coming home with the nurse here giving him his blood transfusion and try to keep a somewhat normal life for DD. She doesn't remember her godfather much but I wrote a letter after he died and she has ready it often and realizes how much he loved her. Life would have been so different for us if he had beaten the lukemia. DD is in the local medical books because she is the only known case of a child developing chicken pox from someone who had shingles.

DD & I tried on dresses today to see which ones to take and which ones not to take (because too small). I really should have stuck to the challenge. Life has been so stressful & I have done a real lousy job of not eating every thing in sight. I am sitting here watching the football game. Dh & DS are asleep on the couch. I just finished reworking my office's budget. We are trying to figure out which positions can be cut and which are necessary for the operation of the agency. I keep thinking that I am one of the most highly paid employees and have suggested several times that they let me go & hire someone younger with less experience and hopefullly save money. Unfortunately, I don't only do my job. I am the Human Resource person, the computer person, the finance person, and the office manager person. My boss doesn't think that they could find one person to do everything I do. Man I wish I could win the lottery and give our agency 60K so that we don't have to cut anyone. I am also dealing with alot of guilt because I will be leaving for the cruise/vacation on the 9th and the person who is getting let go will have her last day prior to Xmas. I am not sure if I will be back before she leaves. we still have not decided which person that will be.

brack, we had a guest dog for the weekend. he is a single dog with very young owners. he really wasn't prepared for our two dogs. this is the second time he stayed with us while they went away for the weekend. he is getting better but he still doesn't quite understand how to play nicely with others. he got mad at me today because I didn't put him down the way he wanted. he snapped at me and DH got really upset with him. he didn't break skin but it did smart a little. I think he understood he was in trouble.

This is why we really prefer to have someone come stay at our (JoJo's) house. He is so much more settled at home. It must be really scary to them to be separated from what they know. I'm glad you understand him.

I don't want to start a war here or anything, so I will just tell you. My graphic arts people have only macs. My IT people only have PC's.

No war Kim, we are peace loving Geeks . . .

Fun to watch you catch up, but the battle is over, Charlotte has come over to our side . . . The Macbook is on order . . .

Resistance is futile . . .

:grouphug: Missy. This is tough stuff.

From someone who knows, and can relate. Hang in there.

Talked to Amy earlier . . . She said next time I am away, we are going to kennel the dog. She HATES taking her outside in the dark by herself. We live in a fairly safe neighborhood, but I know how she feels. I told her to go tomorrow and get a very good and bright flashlight to feel more secure. Our back yard where the dog likes to go is pretty dark.

I just don't like it because she is dark colored, and I can't see what mischief she may be getting into.

John, I thought I saw you post that the browns had won. congrats. the bengals had a 21 to 0 lead that feel apart. we are all over the sports new though because the score was the highest score of a football game this season and for several years. I really wish they could have pulled it off. the last two losses we have had some very questionable officiating that could have changed the outcome of the game. I know the score should not be so close that one call could make that difference but unfortunately it has been. well next week is another game.

I wish we could find somone instead of kenneling . . . I know Lexi always has the runs the first couple days at the kennel. She is a scamp, but she is also a fraidy cat, and I don't think she takes real well to new situations. Even at doggy day care she jumps at the window when I drop her off as I drive away.

we have a black minature poodle that loves to go out at night. I have a lot of problems seeing him at night. we had a ground hog visiting the backyard a couple of years ago. I was terrified to let the dog out back because the ground hog was bigger than the dog. we eventually caught the ground hog but we did install a larger security light in the back yard to help with keeping him in sight.

I'm hoping my neighbors daughter who just turned 18 in august will stay at our house while we are gone. she just got her drivers license and I think she would enjoy the freedom although she will be right next door to mom & dad. I really need to ask her. our neighbors will let the dogs out while we are gone but they really enjoy interacting with people alot.
