I have to say that the screaming was the worst part . . . I have never heard such a high-pitched, piercing, screaming racket in my life. I will also note that there were probably about 100 men there out of 10,000 people, and there were absolutely NO boys there - all 5-12 year old girls. Mostly with moms.

I believe I should get some kind of medal for this.

Overall though, it was fun, and the kids seemed to have a great time. The dancing was pretty incredible. Some girl named Jordan opened the show, and Ashley Hutchinson from HS musical was a follow up open. They were both very good.

Don't have any medals, but um....I'll try to come up with something!! :rolleyes1

Well, they are too young to get them drunk so that is out. :teeth:

OMG!!! LAUGHTER ERRUPTS!!!!! I am so glad I am home and not at work yet....I've GOT to run upstairs and tell DH. This is great Angie!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

hey the glow stick is actually cheap at $5.

at most of the kids concerts, the glow things are like $10-12. for a dollar store plastic thing. crazy.

Oh yes, boys like to have their buddies over too. Pizza, video games, a bit of rough housing, movies, popcorn, oh and more pizza. :cool1:

OH a pirate: too! :dance3: :yay:

So far that's what i had on the agenda....I'm also planning a mid night tie dye session if they are getting a little to rough.

here's another thought....

we could start to try and post and get 1/2 pirate: pirate:

so every 50 posts we could get a few extra posts in - special prize to anyone who stays on long enough to get 2 in a row.

maybe we should earn badges like the GS's.

then when we are on the cruise we could wear something that indicates how many pirates we've hit.

like the WWII bombers.

temporary tattoos?

good morning Brack!!!

Good Morning Elaine! I got up at 5AM but JoJo did his backyard prowl quickly so I didn't have time to log on.

Today is a busy day at work with a training session so I might not get to do any posting during work.

Everyone have a good day.:thumbsup2

ok this is a neurotic question -

but can any experienced cruiser give me what your typical day at sea is.
It would be helpful if PJ, Angie and some families chimed in so I could see the different perspectives - single, w/kids, empty nesters etc.

How do you start your day? what do you like to do during the day - review navigators, wing it? etc.

In what subtle ways is it different from a port day. Like I know I will not be doing .........

just curious. no experience here.
thanks so much.

Last cruise, I slept most of my sea days away due to the meds I was taking for sea sickness, non-drowsy my butt. I am taking Ginger this trip and hope to do a couple of activities each sea day, and then some reading on deck 9, maybe a dip in a hot tub this trip.

Not sure what to make of this choice myself. The serious Tar Heel football fans on the net (yes, they do exist!) seem to be excited about Davis.

Brack was right about the pregame and postgame parties... but I do have to say that watching a game in beautiful Kenan Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon is pretty fun in between the parties.

I do have to agree that watching the game from the stadium is awesome. I haven't been since I was a student and at that time we at least had three great running backs (and no one of them was not Charlie "ChooChoo" Justice).

Kenan is a classic football stadium.

Hey Brack how are you doing? How's JoJo? I had to trim one of our dog's head today. he couldn't see to catch his toys. I called the groomer but they can't get the 2 of them in until the 17th. both of ours look so over grown. I was kind of hoping they could hold off until the end of nov so that they would be nicely groomed while we are gone. our neighbor takes care of them. the dogs really do so much better when they have more interaction but I can't kennel them. we tried it once but they did not do well. the kennels won't put them in the same cage and they don't do well without each other. in a lot of ways, I wish they could come with us but I know that wouldn't work.

We are doing really good just busy. JoJo is really good and has been on the latest trips we've taken (over 2,000 miles last week). He had his hair done just before that trip. We bought him a sweater with a Mickey on it wearing a Santa hat.

We don't kennel JoJo either. It makes it hard to find a babysitter sometimes but we have managed so far.

Maybe one day DCL will have a dog friendly cruise!

Did I tell you that Jake didn't smile for his PS pics today! He was so scared. I felt bad for him! What a kid!

DS didn't smile for his pictures until his 4 year class. :sad2: DD looked petrified....and ended up in tears after the pictures were taken. I still like them because I can see her confidence building in them each year. :thumbsup2

Well, I review the navigator after we put the kids to bed at night. I also call the PALS line to get the character schedule. I then coordinate the characters we will see with the activities & write it down. DH gets up around 5...like at home...and goes out on deck to get some coffee, enjoy the sunrise, and get some great pictures of the ship and the water. :) I am usually up with the kids 7-8. He brings us something to drink & a muffin while we get dressed. We head up to Topsiders then the kids get in the pool...unless there is something else going on that they want to do. We don't have a spreadsheet ;) but I do keep that list of things to do with me. It never seems rushed because before we start one thing...like swimming...I will tell the kids what time we need to be someplace to see X. I like to go to Shutters & the shops while DH is at the pool with the kids so I can really look.

Wake up. Eat. Find a chair on deck. Eat. Get in the pool. Eat. Get sunburned. Eat. Drink. Get ready for Dinnner. Eat. Go to the show. Walk the deck. Eat. Go to the shops. Eat. Go to the clubs. Drink. Drink. Drink. Back to the room - if we can remember where that is. Order Room Service. Eat. Sleep.

Ok...so its not really like that; we go to the shops BEFORE the show.

Now, you ask about a typical day. With this many DIsers on boards, "typical" just went out the porthole. I'm sure the DPN (DIS Personal Navigator) will have our schedules there.

for those of you with young boy cruisers - Giona is almost 6 (in Jan)

what is the most important things to remember to bring -

or I wouldn't want to be caught on a Bahamian island without.....

I wasn't planning on bringing a lot in the toy category because I think there will be very full days. Is this a mistake? just some things for the dining room?

I just need a brain dump. LOL.

elaine

A swim suit!!! :) That is what DS likes doing the best....the Mickey slide! :thumbsup2 I brought their GBAs last time but they didn't even touch them on the ship. There is so much going on in the dining room we don't take anything with us. The kids were 3 & 5 on our first cruise & it was the same way. I like AP because there are cartoons playing all the time. :thumbsup2 They will have crayons and the kid's menu at the table.

here's my train of thought ----

Lisa can make several people honorary mods - so they can skip the 40 second rule and post at will.
