You better hope he is still a better college coach than a pro coach. He made some AWFUL decisions as coach of the Browns.

Not sure what to make of this choice myself. The serious Tar Heel football fans on the net (yes, they do exist!) seem to be excited about Davis.

Brack was right about the pregame and postgame parties... but I do have to say that watching a game in beautiful Kenan Stadium on a sunny Saturday afternoon is pretty fun in between the parties.

Some kids are going to have a tough time adjusting to the "real world" when they are protected so much. :sad2: My DS was 2 when he literally put 2 and 2 together with the chickens. We were at my grandparents house having lunch and eating chicken. My grandparents happen to have some chickens in their backyard. DS was eating and looking outside at the chickens. About halfway through the meal he gets a strange look and points at his plate and say "chicken?". He then points outside at the chickens in the back yard and "chicken?". It was kind of funny to watch him realize where his chicken tenders really came from. :rotfl:

Actually today at work I think I had a small encounter with one of these "helicopter parents" when their kids grow up. I mentioned the letters we sent out about filling out new state withholding forms, etc.. The Director of Benefits sends me an e-mail and the father of one of our employees got the letter and he was wanting to know how much was currently being withheld from his son's check, etc.. I looked it up on the system thinking it is pretty bad to have Daddy call the Director of Benefits for you but I thought maybe they were just 18/19 and right out of high school. Nope - the employee is 27. :sad2: I would be mortified if even that kind of thought popped into my parents head. What was he thinking? :confused3

Hope you didn't tell him.

Just wanted to say "happy packing" to everyone! We leave for the airport in 26 days! :cloud9: The list of things I want to do has become the list of things I Must Do! A special thanks to Kim, we received our DIS bracelets in the mail today. We love them! My DDs are going to start wearing them now. :thumbsup2

I can help here. It's a convenience store chain that started in the Philadelphia area (actually think it was a dairy business first). Known in this area for the hoagies (subs in other parts of the world) and coffee.
thank you!

We are watching TCM channel tonight. Lucille Ball night, month maybe. Watched Miss Grant Takes Richmond with William Holden  :lovestruc earlier. Bit of trivia, did you know that early on she spelled her name Louceil for a couple of gigs? Anyway, fun stuff watching the old comedies. :goodvibes

I have accomplished quite a bit today!!!!

I can see the top of the dining room table!!!!

We will be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner on it!!! :thumbsup2 DH is going to fall over when he walks in tomorrow night. :rotfl: I threw out a ton of stuff and put the rest where it goes. That is our dumping ground....NO MORE!!!! There is a growing pile of things in the corner of the room for cruise related things but that wont be there for much longer. :woohoo: I've managed to get a bunch of other small things done too...which add up to alot! :Pinkbounc
That is great! Good luck keeping your table clear!!! I go through this all of the time with my kitchen counter...if only it would stay clear!

Wanted to share my happy news... :goodvibes

Today I weighed in at my weight loss goal weight!!! :woohoo: That's 97 pounds lost since last september! Of course I plan to try to lose a few more pounds before the cruise so that I can indulge a little on the desserts and not have to feel guilty gaining a few pounds. ;)
CONGRATULATIONS!!! THAT IS AWESOME!

Let us know if the former president showed and how things went. :grouphug:
The FP (current...but only until Jan. President) did not show up for choir this evening. I am not surprised. I must say that I am a wee bit happy to not have to deal with that tonight.

I got a copy of the Sunday School Bylaws. There were a few things that we were not following at all!!!

I am going to make a copy for each member of the board for Jan. We only meet every 2 months...so they can look it over for the Feb. meeting. I know that it is far away...but I am excited!!!

The current/Former pres. never gave us an agenda. I am drafting one now. I am stealing some idea's for the consistory's monthy meeting agenda. I need to wait to add all of the things...but I figure I can get the rough copy down.

Ticket to Cheetah Girl Concert $38.50
Cheetah Girl T-Shirt $20.00
Cheetah Girl Glow Stick $5.00
10,000 high pitch screaming Cheetah Girl fans and the grin on daughter's face - priceless

John1
That is sweet!

I am sleepy!!! This is the second night in a row I was up to 1 am. This past morning Eliza had me up at 5 am...she better sleep in tomorrow!!!

Did I tell you that Jake didn't smile for his PS pics today! He was so scared. I felt bad for him! What a kid!

I got behind on here today. After PS pics I had to go to the music store to get the new tone chimes for the church. I told DH that we would watch a movie when I got home from choir. Well, one of my friends and I started talking...and next thing you know....it was 10:45!!!! Her daughter is getting married in a few weeks. We were finalizing the music. Then we were going over some Sunday school stuff! I thought it was about 9:14 when I left. I almost fell over when I saw how late it was! DH wasn't mad but he was a bit bummed because it was too late for a movie!

Shall we Gather at the River for.....

THIRSTY THURSDAY?
