I am also going to post on the CB just to get a few more opinions....

Thanks V! I just really want to make him understand that his actions have consequences and that he really needs to think of how others feel. I asked him why he tore up the flower and he told me it was "just an ugly plastic flower".
Now this comment makes me think it is a good idea to make him replace it. It seems that even though he apologized he still doesn't see the value of the item and what it meant to her. :thumbsup2 You're a good mom, Becka.

I have used a Mac and have actually set a new one up for someone that bought it. They just seem so foreign to me.

The new deal with it being able to run a Windows environment is an attempt to attract "old" PC users like me. Why buy something that imitates something? Buy the thing it is imitating!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

The irony, the irony is killing me - I am in tears, ROFL, PIMP, the whole 9 yards.

My dear Brack, the PC and Windows is the imitator - you need to get a Mac if you want the original. If you are from the old PC days, you will remember DOS, when the PC was running DOS in 1984, the Mac was the first "WINDOW" computer. When the PC just had a keyboard, the Mac had a mouse! Microsoft is the imitator! Apple is the innovator!

Sorry Brack, but I know too many PC people who thought the Mac was a toy back in the day, and that they would NEVER use a thing like a mouse when they had their keyboard. Now they are on Windows XP. And Vista? If and when it is released will still be a step behind OSX.

Thanks for the irony Brack!

I just told Amy what I posted.

She said I am an Apple snob.

BTW, what's happened with the Ty, Kelli Rippa, secret surprises, etc.?!? :confused3

And Brandi -- what was the outcome of your election?!

This wdw reservation system has me bonkers...how can I see a discounted rate and it tells me to call and yet the CM's can't see it??!!
I asked DH about changing and he said he would rather be on the monorail line. I said well, that can be your xmas gift!

I need a parenting opinion...do you guys think I am being too hard on DS?

Today at school a little girl had her 5th birthday and she brought in a plastic flower that she had been given for her birthday. Sometime today Nathan destroyed the flower and it obviously broke the little girl's heart. He was put in time out and apologized at school but I think more needs to be done. DS has been "saving" money in his piggy bank to spend on the cruise. I told him that tonight after dinner when DH gets home that he was going to take some of the money out of his piggy bank, I was going to take him to the store and he was going to buy her a new flower to give to her tomorrow. DS looks really upset about the whole deal but I really feel like I need to make a stronger point here and having to spend "his" money and buy a replacement seemed like a good idea.

So what do you think? Appropriate punishment or too tough? He is 4 1/2 for those who might not know.

Thanks!

I think that is entirely appropriate for him. We both know that if he really wants something on the ship, mom & dad (or GM ;)) will buy it for him. It is the idea that he has to give up something that is HIS...even if it a few coins for a fake flower that he will remember.

Like Becka, DD has the Leapster and had the older version (for years) and last year got the newer one. Love that item.!Really durable and great educational games. '

Both kids loved their leappads. DD still has hers. :thumbsup2

We voted tonight....thankfully, with the girls, I had gone over a sample ballot and KNEW who I wanted where....I will miss Jeb though.

I have decided that I want a vacuum sealer for Christmas/birthday. :) The thought of not having to wrap cuts of meat & left overs then peal the wax paper or saran wrap off of the frozen roast in the morning is wonderful!!!

Looks like Charlie Crist (Gov) is ahead and Katharine Harris (US Senate) is not going to win. The CFO is a tight race! There were so many amendments I am glad I read ahead....seniors being entitled to a $25.000 add'l homestead. Everyone at work was talking about that!

Now what do I do? I can't pack - that would just depress me. I bought some highlighters (DD took mine) to go through the navigators from that Oct DD.
Should I be reading up on anything. I would like someone to please take my hand and just lead me through the process.

I told DH this weekend I am so tired of helping and giving that I just need to refuel and if he could just make the decisions without asking me I would greatly appreciate it. That's about where I am now. I think he would have laughed if I wasn't so depressed sounding.

..ummm....are you for hire? Can you come to my house and get me organized?
Karen, if you think that then I've done a good job hiding my panic and amazement of all that I have NOT done. :rotfl: I am so not ready for this vacation. The only thing I know for sure is that I WANT this vacation. Other than that...I'm not even close to having a clue.
