I am here way too much and I have far too big of a mouth (or keyboard... :scratchin) ! I am about to hit 11,000 and I swear I just hit 10,000 about a month ago…maybe less! :faint: When did that happen? Yes Andy I realize the answer to that is about 994 posts ago…. ;)

Whoa Becka -- You're about to hit 11,000!!! :cool1:

Brandi, after you have finished downloading iTunes again, install, and open it. Make sure that your ipod is not connected at this time. (It comes with an 80% charge, and will charge once you connect it after itunes is installed.)

Ok, do you have music on your computer? In iTunes click on File, Add to Library, chose files or folders to add to the iTunes. Make playlists that you like, I find it is easier to load a group of playlist to a nano, then single songs. I also will drag and drop extra single files to the nano that just don't fit with a playlist.

Then connect your iPod. It may take up to one minute the first time to recognize the iPod, this is ok.

Click on the ipod in the left navigation bar.

now your iTunes should show all the catagories that could be on the nano, chose to manually manage iPod. Say Yes to the pop-up.

Click on the music tab, and chose to update selected playlists or do not update, and you will get to drag and drop, playlists and songs to your nano.

Any questions, PM or post. Begin the journey.

Pj

ETA: POST 3000 and it is about an iPod, so typical, lol.

Thank you - and everyone for the kind words.

I think more and more....I am so trying to live up to some image - I don't even know of what. The wife, the mom, the "me".....and is that possible? I'm her mom, so I know what she is "saying" and I will bet $$$$ - for most all of you, if you know me.....you will know what she is saying by her looks as well!! I guess I just feel I have been so much more neglectful this time around.

thanks for listening!

Sounds like the June Cleaver syndrome. :rolleyes1

Another IPOD thing the book doesn't tell you is DO NOT PLUG THE IPOD CORD into the front of your computer (you know the place you might use to download photos or upload a key drive)

The Ipod needs the USB connections found on the rear of your computer....

(the one's on the front don't work)

Buy the way....if you need an instant messenger program ...just go into one of the chatrooms here and private message each other....way simpler...

This is what I am afraid is going to happen with our school fundraiser and just one of many reasons I thought it was a bad idea in the first place. Having people order perishables is crazy. Who ever doesn't pick them up should have them left to rot if they couldn't let you know there would be a problem. Glad the PTA isn't involved with this one.

:grouphug: Lisa!!

We actually had a good time with this last time with 6 boxes left from 8900 in orders. This time we had 46 left out of 14500. I went in this morning prepared to be reamed out by everyone....but they didn't. Everyone was inconvenienced by the aftermath but they were all supportive...the cafeteria manager who went to unload a freezer truck only to find a cart with the boxes blocking his freezer, the janitor who had to move all of the tables back into place, and everyone else who was there early in the office. I am down to 14 boxes...6 of those belong to people who are out of town until Monday. I have three who I can't contact at all & I will go back tomorrow 11-1 to let 6 people pick their orders up. I was at the school 8-3 today.

Oh, on top of all of this....the company screwed up the prizes. I received them this morning & put them in the teacher's boxes but noticed that none of the big prizes like the boom box & soda can fridge were not there. I called the rep & was told by his CSR that we were signed up for unit sales, not dollars sold so they didn't get those. Sorry, but the prize sheet that I was looking at had dollar amounts listed. I have to ship out our copies of the order forms to her tomorrow and she will reprocess the orders to generate the accurate prize list. OY BOY! OY BOY! OY BOY!

I also found out that a couple of the teachers didn't send out the notices until yesterday. Too late don't ya think??? OY BOY!

After school DD ran around the neighborhood a couple times...first escaping out the front door & when I locked the high lock out the garage (told DH that we MUST install one of those locks on that door as well ASAP). Needless to say I wanted to do serious harm by the time that I ran her down the third time so instead of getting dinner started, iron, or do anything else around here that has been neglected lately I had to sit her down on the couch to keep her from escaping again.

So anyhow, we have been watching the news & Survivor. The kids are in bed & I am enjoying a few moments to myself.

You would all be proud of me today. My word...even to the principal...was

NO!!!!!!

When she asked how late someone would be there for people to pick up their orders today (IOW how late would *I* be there) I said 2:30. When she questioned me about that I told her that I would not put my family thru that again and needed to recover from last night's problems.

and to be honest. I don't want to rush her through anything. With Samantha I was there, with a notepad waiting, wishing, willing her to do something great.....I'm sorry. I guess they should require testing before you become a parent. Johnny and I probably shouldn't be parents.

the second child is always treated differently. my ds didn't have to ask for anything. our dd is 4 years older than him. she was his little mommy. both grandmans would do anything for him and give him everything. my husband & I were no better. he was spoiled and spoiled more. he hasn't turned out bad at all. he is in 6th grade. he is a little chunky right now but he hasn't had a real height growth spurt yet. he did not speak a lot when he was younger. our DD had a speech impediment and didn't speak much and he took after her.

give her time. she is almost 2. tell the people at the schools that if they think there is a problem, they are the people who can help solve it. It definitely does not mean you are a bad parent. if spoiling children made us bad parents, hopefully most parents would fit in that category. I say enjoy them while they are little and don't sweat the small stuff.

If your computer is an older model the USB port in the front probably isn't 2.0 but 1.1 and it doesn't have the power for the iPod.
