12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

I also think we are going to do the V.I. Scenic Tours in St John/St. Thomas. This seems to be a partner company with Bernards with similar pricing and itinerary. I do think that is is hectic booking outside of Disney because you have no guarantee that things will work out ok.

We officially switched to late dining. I think we will like the 'not rushing' during the afternoons to get ready..and the dine and play for Sianna. We will see how it goes. :rolleyes1

I need some advice..

We are booked in a Cat 3, there is still a Cat 2 available, is it worth the upgrade now, or try and save some money and try at the port.

We have never stayed in either, so I do not know.

Thanks

If you can afford it and want it, I think you should go after it right now. Competition for such upgrades can be fierce at the port - first come, first served!

We leave tomorrow for a week in Daytona Beach and then four days with Mickey. I read and saw pictures where there are a lot of buildings draped with tarps. At first I was disappointed but then I realized...rare photo ops!!!

A week in Daytona Beach? Have a wonderful time! :cheer2: The weather here has been better lately - no longer in the nineties - down to mid-to-high eighties (seventies overnight) which is a vast improvement. I don't think we are expecting thunderstorms again until next Thursday or so. :beach:

I'm headed to Epcot tomorrow for the Duffy the Bear event for passholders and to see a favorite "friend of Pluto." pluto:

Hey everyone!!!!!!:woohoo:
So I decided to head from NC down to Orlando and booked a 2bdrm at Vacation Village Parkway check in on Oct 3rd

So Cruise on backburner for a bit while I plan this impromptu trip:laughing:

I hope everyone is doing well..... If anyone wants to request me on facebook please do please do :) Im April Ayres Ruley.......

So wondering on some feedback on Waterparks at Disney or the Universal Scary Halloween stuff...... Love feedback.... If anyone lives close by and wants to meet for dinner with me one night let me know so we can do a little precruise chattn......

Have a great Saturday Night... I'm going to attempt cooking a big meal since my brother drove down from VA today:rotfl: I'm not a fan of cooking so that is a big deal for me.....

ruley3 - Sounds like a nice getaway. How long will you be down here?

To all: I went to the Duffy the Disney Bear event and ended up bringing a Duffy bear home. He is in a cute sailor suit. I've decided to probably take him on the Wonder, for the photo ops. I won't be bringing him on the Magic because I want to concentrate on Chip 'n' Dale. HERE is a bad pic of me with my hair in a ponytail, but with my Duffy and my pals Pluto and Mickey. They will begin selling Duffy bears and lots of different outfits (in his own store) as well as having a meet-n-greet area for him at Epcot starting Oct. 14th.

It's the Disney Bear. Remember the one they used to sell at WDW and DTD, in various colors, with the Mickey on the foot paws and the rear? He became insanely popular at Tokyo DL. They do meet-n-greets and maximum merchandise and a show, etc. That seems to be the direction they will take with Duffy (named in Tokyo) here, some immediate, some gradual (not sure about a stage show eventually). The Duffy the Disney Bear though is NOT in weird colors like the previous Disney bear. ;)

So I mentioned to the lady at the Disney reservation line when I was changing from Main to Late dining, that we would be filming Kids Reviews for the website and that I might do a Podcast for the travel hour on my radio station. She said you need to talk to the 'media people' and gave me a number. Anyone have a clue what I might encounter ie. problems.. when I call??
Especially those of you who do reviews/books/Disney stuff full time?

Alright!!!!!:thumbsup2 Let me know which one you ended up liking the best!!!

Tanya - Yes, it IS possible that you could run into problems with any filming for that sort of thing. There is a big difference between writing reviews and doing radio shows. It's my guess that if you are filming anyone other than your own family, Disney has legal control. Whether or not you receive any money for your efforts, since it is a DCL cruise and they own the ship, and since the guests are their paying passengers who sign the cruise contract, DCL does have the right to control anything that takes place on their cruises. They could go so far as to not allow the filming, or to supervise or have final approval of the finished product. They may say, "Sure, just do it!" but that would surprise me because it would mean they lose control. That is why members of the media are required to arrange things through the media department.

Sounds like FUN! :goodvibes

My mom and I leave on our Wonder cruise on the 3rd and get back on the 7th. Won't know until I get back as to whether I'll be down to WDW in those next few days.

Thanks.. worse case scenario, I will just do Sianna's reviews of the ship and her experiences, though I thought it would be cool to have other kids on there as well.

I will get back to the 'Crusin Nuts' who wrote me and said they would like their kid's reviewed.. as to whether or not I can or not. Don't want anyone upset, especially when it was designed to be a fun easy going type of website anyway :)

Tanya - You never know, as it depends on the viewpoint of whomever you speak with in their media department. One option may be to have the kids with their parents visit your stateroom, then do the interviews & videos there. That way it would not be distracting to other guests who might ask DCL what it's all about. That's when it becomes a "media event" for which they insist on having control. If you did it in public on the ship, others kids may want to be interviewed and DCL could see that as a problem. Any time I've ever sailed on DCL when there is filming or professional photo shoots going on, I've had to sign a release upon check-in. Maybe that's not the norm, but it's been my experience.

BTW - Yesterday when I did the Disney Visa meet-n-greet, just as I walked in there, Chip 'n' Dale's Vacation Song started playing! I don't think I've ever heard that song at WDW. It was great! I did notice the CM outside the meet-n-greet reading my Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts name tag on my lanyard and then telling the CM from inside when he came out just before I went in, but I don't think they have any control over the music, so I viewed it as a happy coincidence! :goodvibes
