12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

For those of you that have done a sitdown breakfast.... is it the same menu every day? and does the restaurant location change? we always eat at Goofys galley or have done the buffet. I am not a breakfast fan, but dh and the kids are and I said this is the trip to try new things. :)
Basically, this is it for Lumiere's breakfast - -

Breakfast is served from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. while the ship is in port and from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. while out at sea. Check the Personal Navigator—the Disney Cruise Line daily newsletter detailing all there is to see and do—for specific dates and times while onboard.

Although subject to change, breakfast menu items may include:

* Lighter Fare:
o Hot Oatmeal
o Fresh Fruit
o Scrambled Eggs
* Main Courses:
o Buttermilk Pancakes
o French Toast
o Omelettes
o Oven-roasted Potatoes

For an additional charge, specialty drinks like cappuccino, espresso and café latte are sure to make the morning brighter for adults of all ages.

However, there is also Eggs Benedict and a variety of pastries. I enjoy it because it's a more relaxing and quieter environment than the Topsider buffet or Parrot Cay. It's nice to be served - lol. The only time you might feel rushed is if you show up near the end of their breakfast service. Then there can be a lot of clanging around as they re-set tables. Same is true at lunch.

Lumiere's is generally the only full service sit-down breakfast. Parrot Cay offers a breakfast buffet except for the full service (but generally scrambled eggs) character breakfast.

Jenn-- we love love the Halloween party! :) Natalie even made the kids Disney pillowcases to trick or treat. (Buzz, Tink and Mickey). :)
we wanted to do the party on Thurs nite, but we have a MK view room so we are watching the fireworks from there. :) (or the roof....I hear we can see Illuminations from there too).

What are their costumes? Abby is going to be a pirate and her friend Kaylee is going to be Minnie Mouse I was happy with Abby's costume choice since she doesnt know we are going lol

I agree totally about the "relax" feeling of eating breakfast at Lumieres... I like being served especially with my little ones so that I'm not worrying about trays:)

I do sit down lunches as well especially when it is ASIAN lunch..... YUMMY

PlutoNme...I just want to say I'm happy that you were able to rebook your cruise :cool1: and I'm sure your son will be so happy w/ the extra days in Disney. Goood luck to you! :thumbsup2

I am making progress with the f/e list..only need 7 more email addresses! :)

I have spend way too much time on the disboards and photobucket...some people are sooo creative for their doors!! wish I had that creative gene!

Shari -- breakfast does sound good! I am all about the pastries!! :)

Congrats on your progress with the f/e list. I know it can't be easy. I really appreciate you volunteering for the f/e. :thanks:

I used to get creative with the door decor, but did get discouraged over the antics of a few mischievous guests. Now I mainly decorate just enough to easily ID my stateroom. I have a magnetic circular whiteboard that I put Chip 'n' Dale stickers on as well as "Taswira," "Shari" and my cabin number. Then I have a magnet-backed paper that says "DISboard Member," "Taswira," and has stickers on it of Chip 'n' Dale, the ship & Captain Mickey. I've had that one since my first sailing on the Magic LONG ago. I also have some small picture frame magnets I might use. That's about it.

But I like walking down the corridors and checking out the door decor of other guests. :teeth:

As for pastries: Doing breakfast at Lumiere's keeps me from those richly creme-filled pastries up at Topsider. :littleangel:

Looks like everyone is getting the reservations they wanted. :cool1:
We were able to get brunch on day 3 and dinner on day 4 , LOVE PALO, hope they work well into the dinning rotation!
High tea was not showing, hope we can book at a later date or when on board.
Hard to believe we are less than 90 days already.:worship:

I have to admit, the pastries are the best part of the buffet. So bad and yet so so good :lovestruc

Yes I want to say thanks also for making the FE list.... :lovestruc I feel like I am drowning at work and this cruise is def my lifesaver!!!!!

And taswira.... I agree with the doors..... We love to decorate the doors and unfortunately the cruise after my mom passed away we all had special in memory magnets made with Mom n Mickey and my dad's was taken off his door.. probably as a prank but we were not very happy:sad2:... So I am cautious not to put something on my door that I really want to keep!!

Jenn--no costumes for us at MNSSHP... it is tooooo hot!! :) I am sure our Steeler jerseys will be close by if we need them. :rolleyes1

I am trying to figure out our schedule for 2 weeks... we want to shop at DTD...we have never been there to shop etc. I am after a Mickey candle that smells like sugar cookies.

I finally figured out my f/e gifts today!! :) I am stealing one idea from someone on our last cruise...and then I am building off of that !! :)

Just wondering, ladies, how many pairs of shoes do you bring on a cruise? (I like shoes :rolleyes1 ) One cruise (before we had to pay for checked bags) we had a whole rolling duffle full of shoes.

I am not a shoe person.... I think I take 4....all sandals/flip flops. My dress outfits all have black in them... so I have a pair of dress black sandals that goes with all my outifts. I might splurge and bring 6 since we are driving. :rotfl2:

I havent bought John jr any pants yet for the cruise...we are still in shorts/tank tops here so I cant even think about long pants...and if I buy them now... he will grow!!

I loveee shoes and have (in the past) brought about 7 pairs of keels and a few flip flops. I ended up wasting space. Now I bring one pair of clear flip flops (you can wear w/ anything) and 1 pair of black heels for evenings. Believe me, I have a shoe thing but this works out great w/ me.;)

Question....I see that there hasnt been anyone that booked *High Tea* at Palo's...why is that? Waste of time? I've never been to one but I booked it...what's it like?? I may cancel if it's a bore. I'd rather lay out in the sun. TIA

For me it's shower thongs (flip flops), dress shoes (usually dress sandals), a good pair of walking sandals & whatever shoes I wear when boarding. Usually the latter is either a loafer-type shoe I can wear with slacks or jeans, or sneakers or boat shoe type.

So for me it's wear one pair and pack 3 - although the flip flops & sandals hardly take any luggage space. Sometimes I have worn my walking sandals during boarding and only packed the flip flops and dress sandals, cutting it to wear one and pack 2.

MakinMemories4MyKids - I have High Tea on Monday the 6th at 3pm. I've done it several times, sometimes good sometimes not so much. This January it was VERY good! The service fee is minimal. No reason not to give it a try! :)

High tea was booked for us last week....it is something I want to try... John not so much!

High Tea wasn't my cup of tea (pardon the pun).

I am looking forward to Palo dinner and brunch, since I didn't do that when I was on the Wonder.

At least I have something that I have to look forward to before the cruise -- just got a summons to jury duty at criminal court.

Yeah, jury duty! I had to actually serve on a jury for a trial last time that lasted two weeks. Then my husband got his jury duty and was told on the night before phone call that he didn't need to even show up. Just my luck! Hope you get a quick release.

Just a reminder to all to sign up for the Munk's Fitness Walk...This is not a commitment, just a rough estimate and even if you do it once on the first day, I want to make sure everyone gets a sticker! Taswira has said that if we get enough people to sign up for the first day, we might get a visit from a couple of our favorite cruisin' guys. Anyway, wanted to bump it up so cruisers could keep it in mind!:dance3:

Does Santa Claus make an appearance on our cruise? Or will he be too busy and Santa Goofy suffice?

I had jury duty for the first time ever in August... Two days wtg and never got called... Well I'm off the hook for 2yrs... but really I wouldn't have minded a little break from work;)
