12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Off to NYC for the weekend.:cool1:
How was your weekend? Tell us all about it. I want to live vicariously, since I have never seen anything there except the airport! :3dglasses

Did you shop, dine, see a show? :)

Hmmmm. Now I usually need to refresh the page to view my entire signature. Oh, well - In mid-January I'll be able to delete that first ticker from my sig and stick to just the Cruisin' Nuts. :goodvibes

This is the place for Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts (Thanks, Holly!) - - on the December 4-11, 2010 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise (with St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John and Castaway Cay of course). Some of us Chip 'n' Dale fans thought this would be a great theme for a fun Disney Magic cruise, as well as a fine opportunity to promote our favorite chipmunks. We are planning several entirely voluntary (optional) MEETS and activities. The Disney Magic will be decorated for the Christmas holidays. Please join us for good cheer and fun times with great friends from Disney message boards!

WEBSITE NEWS: Click HERE for our Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts website!

How to be added to our Cruiser List: Our Cruiser List on our website has data fields for NAME (message board user name) & LOCATION, FIRST NAMES (include ages at time of cruise if desired), DINNER SEATING (First/Main or Second/Late), CELEBRATION (birthday, anniversary, 1st Disney cruise, etc.), STATEROOM (number, category or deck), and FISH EXTENDER (to signify those who wish to participate in the fish extender activity). PM any or all info to me (taswira) or post it on this thread and it will be added to the site.

Check it out!: Be sure to check out our Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts website, as it will be regularly updated. The FUN page includes info on the Fish Extenders and adult Solo/Single Parent Diners.

Thanks for the info! Update has been made. :)

I share the same birthday with your DD . . only unfortunately I am nowhere near 21 - lol. :lmao:

Not about OUR cruise, but an AquaDuck fact: If you and the 2-person raft can actually fit inside the 52-inch acrylic tube, you’re good to go. There will be a height restriction placed on the Disney Dream water coaster - Anyone less than 48 inches tall will be directed to the Mickey slide. But there will be NO weight limit. Hmmm . . I wonder if they tested it with everyone who could get into the tube. Could get interesting. :cool2:

I hope everyone is having a good Veterans Day. I am a vet also - U.S. Air Force! :thumbsup2

Thank you for your service. My husband is an Army Veteran.
You know - Army Wives (on Lifetime) is one of my favorite shows. When my husband and I were down in the Keys this summer and I turned on TV to watch it, he was putting it down because it's Army (Understand, he is AF fighter jock to the death!), UNTIL as it progressed and he was pretending not to watch, suddenly he starts asking questions about it and got interested - lol. He wouldn't admit it, but Army or not, he liked the show. I like all branches of the service. My dad was a Marine fighter pilot, of course my DH and I were AF, and hey - last night I watched Top Gun for the umpteenth time. Miramar College was one of the places I attended before ending up at Scripps Institute/UCSD, so you can imagine how many Navy pilots I ran into. :goodvibes

I like guys in uniform. Hey - I REALLY like DCL's Captain Tom in uniform.

I salute you as well!

My dad was in the Navy. He got to see the U.S.S. Enterprise. In his words..."That's one <insert word here> big ship!"

Thank you to all of our military past/present. :) I didnt realize how many are my fb friends.

well it is raining again in Atlanta.. have I ever mentioned I hate rain here? no one can drive it in .... it took john 90 minutes to get home yesterday.. it is a 30 minute drive.. and 90% highway.

I am leaving tomorrow for a girls weekend getaway.. a friend of mine is turning 40. 8 of us are going to celebrate!!

8 days til we leave for Disney!!! :cool1:

I love the slide on the Dream... just looks like so much fun.. I wonder how long the line for it will be.

I think at first they estimated it could handle maybe 368 or so per hour, but they cut that to about 240+ (I forget the exact numbers) when they factored in that many may hesitate at the start because that's when you can see that you are about to head out over the side of the ship to above the ocean! :scared1:

I think initially the lines may be long, but I don't think everyone will be hanging out there to ride over and over every day after they have experienced it. There will be a lot of other things to do. :)

FYI for any of you heading down here to WDW for the holidays - - Not only is there no longer Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show at MVMCP (seems they turned the theater into a CM parking lot), but they have also cut out the wonderful Lights of Winter holiday archway at Epcot. They claim the tech to operate them is obsolete. I think it is yet another cutback in spite of ever increasing prices on everything. Want to bet that next year they will decide not to put lights on the big Christmas tree? Just kidding . . I hope.

At least we have lots of lovely holiday trappings and activities and a 3-story decorated tree to look forward to on our cruise, don't we? :santa:

I've been too talkative tonight but it does bump the thread. Have a good evening all! :happytv:

this is our first time for the MVMCP party, we normally do the Halloween party.
I love the light display at Hollywood studios. I could stay there all night and watch the lights and the snow. :)

Gabby has been mapping out routes for us for MK and the other parks. lil does she know that our commute time will be cut in half... since we are staying at the Poly. :) our goal is to be MK and be there when the park opens.

At least they're still doing the Candlelight Processional. I think there would be a full-on riot if they did anything with that!

I know this is not about OUR ship, but since several here have or will book the Dream in the future, here is More on AquaDuck: I am not keeping up with AquaDuck threads so imagine this is already on here somewhere, but over on AllEars blog was this - - "A partial mock-up of the coaster currently resides in Canada, although at this point, no actual ride testing has begun. The current stated minimum rider height requirement for AquaDuck is 48 inches, however that may change once actual testing begins. The rafts will have a minimum and maximum weight capacity. Solo riders will be able to enjoy the coaster! Each person will need to climb stairs in order to get to the loading zone, there is no lift or elevator. The water temperature can be controlled. Look for some special surprises and lighting effects for rides at night! If you want a sneak peak at the Aqua Duck rafts and are a fan of Blizzard Beach you're in luck. The rafts will be "tested" in Blizzard Beach in the near future!"

So they are saying there WILL be both a minumum and max weight. What surprises me is that they have not yet conducted ANY ride testing on the mock-up. That means it is possible a lot could change prior to the construction of it on the Dream. And hey - I imagine that long climb with no elevators could keep many from being repeat riders - lol.

Hey all - Check out the latest item I added to our NEWS page on our cruise website (look for the little green "New" beside it). I mainly thought it might be easy for people to sign up for the FE and any of our mini-meets that way. Anyway, take a look when you can. Keep in mind that it's "under development" - lol. :surfweb:

Also, I have considered making a page for video links, such as to official DCL ones (ONLY pertaining to the Magic or our destinations on this sailing though), and any other good videos of the Magic or the destinations we will visit that any of you may suggest to me. Just needs to be valid and safe links though, such as YouTube, etc. What do you think?

I hate to do this but DH has talked me in to jumping ship to the Dec 11th Western.
Have a great trip and take care of the Magic until we board her!:cutie:

I understand, Andrea. I expect we will have many deletions and additions in the coming year, as some people do change their plans for whatever reason. I have removed you from our cruiser list.

Happy sailing! :boat:

We gained SIX new Cruisin' Nuts tonight! You will find them on our cruiser list under "huladancer" (from the Cruise Critic boards). They are from Portland, Oregon.

The chipmunks will be so happy to see all of us next year!
