12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

In my other life (before I started working) I was quite handy. Now I look back and can't believe some of the things I made such as a bridesmaid dress for my daughter and many Halloween costumes. I used to do a lot of things. Sew, quilt, knit, crochet, embroider, cross stitch, etc. Now I look back, I wonder where that person went. In fact, I had my husband put my sewing machine in the shed this weekend to get it out of the way. I look at my quilts and can't believe I made them.

I have fabric from years ago for Halloween pillowcases. still just sitting there.



I still think the "Magic" of Disney is still there. Yep there are some rotten people out there, but I dont let them ruin my vacation. I love seeing all the smiles on my kids faces at Disney and the cruise and the clapping etc for shows/ parades!! I have to remember to video record the kids reaction next month when we pull up in front of the Poly, not POR.
Gabby wants to "visit" the pool so bad at the Poly. she will be soo excited she can swim there.

I think there are several here on FB. I am, but I mainly use it to keep in touch with some of my Cast Member friends and I don't post pics there. I do check my friends postings though. I am same user there - facebook.com/taswira.

Donald_Quackers had mentioned starting a Cruisin' Nuts group there. At the time, I thought it best not to steer people away from here. I recently started a new Disney Cruise Club cruise network on NING here. It has eleven members so far but as far as I know, only three of us are from this cruise. Although I have the link on our cruise site, I only mentioned it once here after starting it because I figured if people became active on other social networks for our cruise they might not check in much on our DIS thread. I like the format of everything there, but it isn't like Facebook.

Still, I'd like to be FB friends with anyone on it from our cruise, if you are willing. And tinkluvr12, I know we are also friends on Twitter. If anyone here tried to follow me there and was blocked, please let me know on this thread or PM me that you are "one of us," because I do block many I'm unsure of.

how fun! we were in Vegas in April for the first time. (my brother owns a website that gives awesome deals on hotels/ shows.) we didnt do any shows... we should have.. but it was nice to be kid free for a few days!

I love Las Vegas. I was there in the spring with my DH for a fighter pilot reunion. I never gamble and only occasionally go to shows, but I love visiting the variety of themed hotels and restaurants. There's something for everyone in Vegas, and fall is a great time.

We are going to be in Las Vegas November 14-18, business for my husband, fun for me. We are going to see Jersey Boys. I saw the show in Chicago and loved it.

Penquins have occasionally been seen in Alaskan waters, but it is rumored they hitched rides on fishing boats instead of swimming, since they are not native to the Northern Hemisphere.

Besides, the chipmunks ARE cuter - especially in those "Rescue Rangers"-style hats - Handsome dudes!

I thought the penguins were out of place. But mentally people do seem to associate penguins with Alaska. I did think it was cute though - with Goofy on it in his "penguin suit".

But I like the Chip & Dale one better. My DDs are so wanting to go gold panning that it was appropriate in wording as well. So I happily swapped it out. The M&Ms have already asked if I will make them shirts with this one for that cruise. LOL - I told them I could, but not any time soon. It's far away and I'm sure they'll grow a tad.

Love the new Alaska logo- so cute! I'm hoping to get DH to book a discounted Mexico cruise while on this one. Both kids really want to do Mexico and we could drive to the port for that one.

We're getting closer to the 'one year and counting' mark every day!!!

Hmmm. Strange. Well, I finally found you and I sent a request. If it shows a photo of a blonde sitting beneath a T-Rex, that's me. I also went in and changed my privacy settings there, so maybe those who haven't found me will be able to. Apparently you have to use "Shari Meyr" to find me instead of my user name, and you need to make sure you are searching for a Facebook friend/user instead of searching the web. I'm not too savvy with FB as it seems disorganized to me (as well as that all those "fun" apps and add-ons force you to consent to "them" accessing all your FB info), but it IS an easy way for people to "connect." My problem now will be keeping "who's who" straight if it's not the same user names or profile pics as on the DIS.

If any here are on MySpace, you can find me as user "taswira." Profile pic there is me with Chip 'n' Dale on DCL. I have LOTS of pics there (unlike my FB). My profile is private but if you send a friend request and note you're from the DIS, I'll accept.

I'll be headed back to WDW one day next week. My AP expires on the 6th, so I need to renew prior to that and actually visit the parks or I'll end up having to pay $14 parking if I show up with a not-yet-activated pass after my current one expires. Gee - That's enough to buy a counter service lunch and drink! Don't you wish WDW was like DCL, where when you get hungry you simply go eat without forking over more money?
