12/01/07 Western December 1, 2007 - Let's get the party started!

Just a couple of quick questions for all you knowledgeable people:

-Between the Stringray city excursion and the Shipwreck & Reef Snorkel excursion, does anyone have a preference?

-We aren't traveling with our kids, if I drop pillowcases off at Guest Services to have the characters sign for my kids who aren't there, will they sign? Or do the kids need to be on the ship for them to sign?

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

We had pillowcases signed in May 2006 at Guest Services. I dropped two off the first day with different colored sharpies. They had a little square of paper that I had to complete with our name, stateroom and who I wanted to sign them. They didn't know if it was for our kids or adults. I just put our last name at the top. They were brought back to us on the last night of the cruise. I also dropped off a small white carstock scrapbook to get autographs and 2 picture mats.

Sorry I can't help with the stingray vs. reef snorkel question.

I did check dcl.com, travelosity and expedia to see how full we are going to be and I didn't get a single opening in any category.

Hi Grumpy Gramps -
I have sent you a private message, but my computer is being naughty - did you get the message?

Guess what we got?? No, not our documents...a yellow sticker saying no one was home at 12:55 today. That was the exact same time my DH left to head to work (he's a police officer and alternates day/evening shifts). The DHL person must have seen him leaving as he drove away and didn't even knock or ring the doorbell. I guess I'll have to leave lights on and the front door cracked open so you can see that someone's home (We have a glass screen door I'll keep shut). I guess we are going to be the last to get our documents!

WooHoo! We got our docs forwarded from the TA today. I'm happy. They are not as fancy as I expected, but they're ours :goodvibes

My transfer vouchers seem to be incorrect, so I'm calling DCL about it. I don't trust the TA as she basically dropped the ball on the trip from the get-go. No...I'm not bitter. :sad2:

:confused3 Hi,
Just a heads up, Disney will probably tell you that you have to go thru you TA and they won't change it for you...
just beware...
have a nice night,

Called DCL and all is in order. The CM told me not to worry and enjoy the cruise.
Every day seems to be moving slower and slower.......
I saw some video of the lighting of Cinderella's Castle and it looks just spectacular!
Been checking accuweather dot com for MCO extended forecast and they show the 28th and 29th partly sunny in the mid 70's with low in the high 50's which is perfect. Hopefully that will last.

before I make any calls i thought i would ask here first. If we purchased travel from and to the resorts, do we also receive anything for out return or is that something they give us once on board. I got what we need to get to the port, but i was just curious. I am sure i really don't need to worry too much right now aout it...making sure me and DM get onboard are what I am focusing on.

That's what I was concerned about as my docs didn't include that transfer voucher. I'd call just to make sure that it is indicated on your record. I was told that a separate voucher was not needed.
See ya aboard!

:confused3 Hi again,
see things do work out.:thumbsup2
They know who paid for what...It's all in the computer..
have a nice night,

How much room is there under the beds...actually i am wondering how far off the floor the bed is, so I can actually fit our luggage underneath. I read somewhere that someone had problems with it, but i suppose it depends on how big that person's stuff is. i think we have stuff no deeper than 8 or 9 inches...

I can't wait to get on that ship! I don't remember November being this busy before and this year it is just crazy. I have got to get busy packing. My girls are in the school play this weekend, very appropriately...... Cinderella.
Grumpy Gramps, if you have time do you think you could do one more of those signs, they look really cool? Nite all.

Completed my on line docs last night - took forever as the Disney site kept going down.

Hoping to book Palo brunch once we are on the ship (did this last cruise and I prefer it to Palos at night)

Have found my fish extender and previous cruise magnets - will bring some of these along as having my door decorated helps me identify it (have trouble remembering the room number - its my age) :rotfl: .

Has anyone booked any trips at our ports of call?
Did Key West and Grand Cayman on our own last time, and just can't decide what to do this time around - anyone have any good tips?

Have heard there is a pirate weekend being held at Ket West while we are there - does anyone know more about this?

You should have no broblem, BUT! just in case, if the sides of your bags are too tall to slide under the bed just lift the corner and you can pack a steamer trunk under there...:rotfl2: a small trunk (thin) because the bottom of the bed does have a lip and there is more space beyond the side...
just a tip....

We received our documents! DHL just left them at our door without ringing the bell or knocking so we didn't see them until we were heading out to lunch. It's our anniversary so it was a nice gift to get!

My Docs Arrived! :cool1: I went straight to the TA as soon as she called to say that they were in. Didn't want to wait for her to send them out and I'm not always home for FedEx. It felt so good to have them in my hands:)
I also heard about the pirates in paradise in Key West. Looks interesting, probably will check it out. For Key West we decided to just wing it and see where the day takes us...
