11 Days of Two Squirrels Eating for Free! 9/29 Goofy's Candy Co./Earl of Sandwich/Pop

We headed for Kona Cafe for a breakfast reservation at 8:30am. We had plans to go to Typhoon Lagoon for the morning/afternoon so had enough time to have a sit down breakfast. I believe this was our only sit down breakfast of the trip and we payed OOP for this meal.

We started with...

100% Kona Coffee French Press Pot
358_zps7ace1578.jpg

359_zpsb994758a.jpg

I don't drink coffee at all. I tried a cup of this and didn't like it. I think I only got half way, but I'm seriously not a coffee drinker. DBf LOVED this and drank the entire pot!

I went with the...

Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes
With macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce and your choice of ham, bacon or sausage

After

This was a ridiculously large breakfast! I wish I knew how to make pancakes this good!! I love macadamia nuts and pancakes so this was a match made in heaven. I was leery on the pineapple so asked for it to be put on the side. I was glad I did, because I didn't really like it. DBf had no issue finishing off my pineapple and his! Let me say that this was the best bacon of the trip!!

DBF went with...

Big Kahuna
French toast, Pancakes topped with Pineapple sauce and Macadamia Nut Butter, eggs, home fried potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage

DBf had to get his without the nut butter due to his allergy, but they gave him regular butter so he was happy :thumbsup2

I really don't know how he ate all this and drank that entire pot of coffee. He has a vacuum for a stomach. He raved about this breakfast. He loved all the meats and really, really loved the french toast. I really loved the potato wedges!

We would 100000% come back to Kona for breakfast!! We kind of wished we had so we could have tried the Tonga Toast but too much food!

Your DBF and my DH share a magical ability to seal away more food than seemingly humanly possible while at Kona! :lmao: :lmao: Your photos are lovely, I ADORE those pancakes and the press pot of coffee!!

Kona Cafe is a favorite on this site - I'm glad you had such a good breakfast there! :thumbsup2

Kona Cafe was one of the reasons I was so happy I obsessively checked these boards for months before my trip :thumbsup2

Haha I feel like sometimes guys in general have ever enlarging stomachs. I probably ate 30-40% of the two entree we would order and he would have the rest. Then he would normally pack down two entire desserts, and EVERY night he would complain about how uncomfortably full he was..... ya think?!

Thanks for the compliment on my pictures, I actually wish they were better as these are entirely from my iPhone. It was able to produce surprisingly decent pictures considering. Whenever we were in the dark though the pictures came out terribly.

After our Kona breakfast we were off to Typhoon Lagoon to swim with some sharks! I have to say we loved Typhoon Lagoon a lot more than Blizzard Beach - but the weather may have seriously effected our opinions.

We finished up with Typhoon Lagoon around 12:30pm and decided to head to Port Orleans French Quarter to try a snack I had on my "to eat" list.

All that powdered sugar <3 omg these were delicious. We ate them as soon as they were done frying and they were WELL worth the trip. I almost regret not getting six of them, but we had other plans...

We were off to Wolfgang Puck Express to eat lunch! We took the wonderful boat from POFQ to DTD.

I ordered...

Four Cheese Macaroni
375_zps6e50dd3c.jpg

DBf ordered...

Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf
Mashed potatoes, port wine sauce and crispy onion rings
376_zpsc78deb43.jpg

My mac&cheese was da bomb! It was so creamy and yummy. I don't think I even shared any with DBf - probably only a tiny forkful. I generally dislike meatloaf so I'm not sure I tried any of DBf's but the mashed potatos were so yummy especially with that wine sauce <3 seriously what's not to love about WPE.

For dessert we got...

Fresh Fruit Cup
377_zps5bc3effc.jpg

Vanilla Bean Cheesecake
378_zps2ca3261e.jpg

I don't think I ate a bite of either of these. I was seriously starting to get desserted out. Plus I had to save tummy space for our attempt to Drink Around the World. DBf I'm sure finished them both off without complaint!

Enjoying your reviews !! I love that meatloaf at WPE, too !! I keep meaning to try something different, but I always circle back to the meatloaf :woohoo:

To start off our extremely failed attempt to drink around the work we started at La Cava, really the only place I HAD to go to during our trip.

DBf ordered...

Avocado Margarita
El Mayor premium silver Tequila, melon liqueur, fresh avocado, agave nectar and fresh lime juice, served frozen with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim
387_zpscec32313.jpg

I ordered...

Midnight Blue Margarita
100% Agave Tequila Reposado, blue Curacao, fresh lime juice and agave nectar, served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim
386_zpsb6564175.jpg

DBf wished he would have gotten a drink on the rocks instead of a frozen drink as he was disappointed with the amount of alcohol in the drink. We both thought the avocado was strange for a drink, but somehow worked? DBf preferred it more than me.

I picked the perfect drink for me as I love love love agave. It wasn't very sweet so this was a great drink for me :thumbsup2

We were terrible at budgeting our time. I was hoping to pick up drinks from Norway, China and Germany before we go to Italy, but we actually had to rush from Cava to Via Napoli. I guess we lost track of time in Cava.

We only waited a few moments before we were seated. I loved the staff at Via Napoli, and I also love in general how all CMs in the World Showcase are from their respective countries. I'm Italian so I enjoyed the chit chat I had with various CMs here.

Our meal started with a...

Bread Basket
389_zpsc231f255.jpg

This bread was alright.I kinda of expected more from an Italian restaurant to be honest. Probably the worst bread basket of the trip. It was all eaten up though, no worries ;)

Keeping with the theme of drinking we also ordered...

Pitcher of White Sangria
390_zpsb1b393a7.jpg

391_zps4bffeb49.jpg

This was lovely and very quickly finished off ;) We were feeling good by the end of this meal.

We split...

Pepperoni Pizza
393_zps6eaba26f.jpg

Chicken Parmigiana
394_zpsabf19b2b.jpg

The pepperoni pizza was delicious!!! We opted for the chicken parm because we figured we could use some substantial protein in us. In retrospect we probably should have ordered another pizza. The chicken parm was okay, but the pizza was great. Also what's up with them not serving the chicken parm with pasta? That's just strange to me.

For dessert I ordered...

Pistachio Gelato
397_zpse5e9cab7.jpg

Molto bene!!! I'm obsessed with pistachio anything, and man was this amazing gelato. I could have had twelve of these.

DBf ordered...

Coffee
396_zpscc2c29aa.jpg

Zeppole di Ricotta
Ricotta cheese fritters, served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce
398_zps724c65d9.jpg

399_zpsbb5c92cf.jpg

DBf said the coffee was good and he let me have one of his zeppole even though he couldn't have any of my dessert (what a nice guy!). Omg these were so light and fluffy. Another thing I could have twelve orders of!

Overall impression of Via Napoli: would definitely come back!

After our wonderful meal at Via Napoli we headed over to Gutto Tusto to check that out.

We decided to share...

Flight of Summertime Whites
402_zps7a92df2b.jpg

401_zps8cfc7f84.jpg

Sorry for the terribly blurry picture. I guess I was feeling real good at this point ;) Neither DBf or I are big wine drinkers we tend to prefer beer and hard liquor, but when in Rome right? ;)

I guess these were good? I'm really not sure how to tell. It seemed like a good value at least :confused3

I need to go back to Via Napoli! The pizza there is awesome, and the desserts always get great reviews.

And your entrees at WPE look incredible, as well. :thumbsup2

Enjoying your reviews !! I love that meatloaf at WPE, too !! I keep meaning to try something different, but I always circle back to the meatloaf :woohoo:

Our last day at Disney we had four CS credits to burn and so we got three meals at WPE and split them - that was our best meal at WPE. Everything we ate at WPE was amazing. :)

Definitely stick with pizza and dessert and you'll be happy. WPE is always amazing :) I wish I could have used all my CS credits there.

So this day starts off with us going to Universal Studios for our last off property day!

We realized that we had enough snack credits and counter service credits at this point that we really shouldn't be buying any food at Universal. So armed with our treats from Goofy's Candy Co and two counter service meals that we had picked up at Earl of Sandwich the night before we were off!

For breakfast we ate:

Fruit Cup from Earl of Sandwich
380_zps04b4aafc.jpg

DBf finished this off before I could even have a bite. He enjoyed his fruit. While he was eating this, I was being bad and eating...

Brownie Creme Sandwich from Earl of Sandwich
381_zps51765a62.jpg

This was amazing. Probably the best counter service dessert I had the whole trip! I wish I could make brownies this good.

Milk & Chocolate Milk from Earl of Sandwich
379_zps730f183c.jpg

I can't really comment on these as I don't drink milk, but DBf finished them off before the bus stopped at Universal!

Somehow we were still hungry and dug into our treats from Goofy's Candy Co.

Red Velvet Cake Pop
406_zps6da013c2.jpg

407_zpsc884a2f6.jpg

I thought I was going to love this... but I hated it! I think I took two bites and gave it to DBf to finish off, which he did. It was too dense, too sweet but not tasty? I'm not sure. I just didn't like it one bit :confused3

Chocolate Covered Pineapple Skewer
408_zpsc146b1c9.jpg

DBf really liked this, I don't even think I got a bite! But I'm not a big pineapple fan so I was fine with that (plus I had eaten that brownie sandwich and was feeling stuffed from that anyway). That top of the chocolate coating feel off almost immediately though, which annoyed DBf :lmao:

Before we entered the park (around 10:30 or so) we had an extremely early lunch.

We finished off our sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich. We actually stuck with wraps instead of sandwiches because we figured cold sandwiches would keep better than hot ones. I got...

Chicken Caesar Wrap
Grilled chicken, field greens and Romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, fresh croutons, classic Caesar dressing.
410_zpsf4db2cf0.jpg

This was really yummy and I was so happy they had grilled chicken :cool1: pretty sure I finished this off no problem.

DBf went with...
The Earl's Cobb
Grilled chicken, smoked bacon, Swiss and sharp cheddar cheese, Roma tomatoes, cucumber, cranberries and Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
411_zps1c8fb424.jpg

412_zps58d90408.jpg

Sorry I didn't get a good interior pic. DBf was pretty stuffed at this point, but still maanged to eat his wrap. I know he had some of mine as well and he preferred mine. He even used our last CS credit to pick up a Chicken Caesar wrap for dinner for the plane ride between Philly and Chicago.

For fun we took a picture of this little guy as we were getting in line for Twister! at Universal Studios. He was just sprawled out and loving life.
418_zps09f4098c.jpg

We had managed to get through Universal Studios fairly quickly and were back at Pop just as they changed over for dinner.

Our dinner reservation at 'Ohana wasn't until 9:15pm and we were both really hungry after hitting the pavement at Universal all day.

We decided to check out what Pop had to offer for dinner and give them a second chance after their disgusting breakfast that we had eaten earlier in the trip.

I had heard about the Mom's Night Out dish on the POP discussion thread in the Resorts section and when we discovered it was turkey tonight (opposed to fried chicken or meatloaf) we were all in for splitting it!

Mom's Night Out
Turkey, Mashed Potato & Gravy, Stuffing, String Beans, Cornbread
419_zps7cd3044d.jpg

Pop redeemed them self! Yay!! This was really good dinner. The string beans were especially good. I think we were both seriously craving veggies at this point in the vacation so getting both a wrap with tons of salad AND veggies in today we were happy campers! The turkey and cornbread were delicious as well. This entire plate was demolished happily ;)

For dessert we had to go with ...

Tie-dye Cheesecake
420_zps8b919bba.jpg

421_zps09ec5886.jpg

This was yummy, but I wasn't in the mood for sweets. Besides I knew we had 'Ohana tonight and I had to save room for that Bread Pudding ;) DBf was a fool and finished it all up.

Love the updates. I have never tried the wraps at EoS, I should look into that some time.

I've never had one of the cake pops. It should be on my list to sample.

I LOVE EoS!

When I started reading dining reports and everyone was raving about it I was desperate to check it out but devastated I was going to have to wait until next year. Happily we went on a last minute trip to NYC this summer, tracked down the (very well hidden) EoS and tried it out three times! The Caesar wrap sounds amazing.

Sorry I've been MIA the past few weeks. I'm back at work and school and just joined a sorority so I've been crazy busy. Hoping to post a few updates later this week.

Getting excited because our sorority's national convention is in June and its at Disney World!!!! So chances are good for another trip in the near future :cool1:

Your WPE pictures are fantastic, I'm itching to go back there now! Love the Via Napoli pics too! Great reviews!

I love your "chillin squirrel" photo! :lmao: Even the squirrels in WDW are having fun! I agree with your review of the red velvet cake pop, I had the same feelings about it. I've had my fair share of cake pops and this was my least favorite of them all. Luckily my DD thought it was good and she ate most of it which is good because I would have thrown it out.

The food at WPE looks really good and it looks like I'd enjoy both of those dishes for sure! My DD and I also had the exact same desserts at Via Napoli and we both loved them as well. I would die for some zeppole right now - they were so fluffy and yummy! Can't wait to read about 'Ohana!

OMG! Someone else like me! I am so excited-I, too, really love squirrels :)

Squirrel is also the pet name my DB & I have for each other :squirrel:

REALLY!! If YOU were a squirrel, wouldn't you choose to live at WDW!!
