It's flour, crisco and milk. I think some call it milk gravy. It's also a base for homemade macaroni and cheese. I make it for the mashed potatoes with salmon patties and we also had chipped beef to put on toast--Chipped beef on toast.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh ... chipped beef on toast ....... YUM!! I think it's also called dried beef. You'll find it with the cheeses and luncheon meats at the grocery. Oh it's soooooooooooooo good!

Hey all ... guess I didn't mention this before. A few months back we were looking at meeting and possibly adopting Dexter, a 1-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Well his Mom still would like to see us have him and she knows that he will be in a loving home, so we started talking to her again. Today we'll meet him and Duesey is going along to see how they get along. Then if all goes well, we'll do it again tomorrow for another play date, and pick him up to live with us when we get home from the cruise!

I love Corgis. They are so cute. Their short little legs. Our neighbor has 2 of them. My kids go over and play with them a lot. Let us know how it goes.

Christine - I'd love to get your meatball recipe. I make great sauce just like my mom's (she was Italian) but haven't been able to replicate her great meatballs so Im open for other ideas.

My family is sitting here watching the 7 hour live Most Haunted tv show from last night about Gettysburg. We are going tomorrow night. We only live about 25 min if that from there. I'm real excited. I used to go every weekend but its been years.

The boys both want to go and say they wont be scared. We asked Alex to go out and get something from the car and he was tiptoeing and looking out the window first and running both ways to and from the car He should do real well tomorrow night.

Well, I have a very productive shopping trip. I saved $99 at New York and Company (my favorite clothes store) and saved $36 at Linens N Things (going out of business) which was for a Christmas gift. In two weeks we are going to the outlets in Primm, CA and then I should be done Christmas shopping

Thats the way I like to shop. Find all the good deals! Did you buy anything for the cruise? I also want to start Christmas shopping. Seems too early, but I don't want to be rushing around just before and just after the cruise. I have some of it done already. I got the kids Mario Kart for the WII. They will be so excited! I got a good deal on it too!

sure I can tell u ingredients but like christine I go by "feel". Oh now that I think about it the recipe is in the bananahead one cookbook that was compiled.

Let's see chipped beef. I think Shell was right it is sometimes called dried beef. Buddig Meats and Eckrich make it. There is also ham and turkey. Just look for "beef". The chipped comes into play when you break it/cut it apart for the gravy. It would come in similar packaging like pepperoni would...in fact, it is right next to the pepperoni section. Yes, Christine, they do make it in the Army. I bet it doesn't taste like mine though. If it's really watered down, it wouldn't be very good.

Shell how did your day go with the puppies?


Went to the show tonite and saw "Burn after reading" with Brad Pitt and George Clooney....it was pretty good. Was going to go and see Lakeview terrace, but my son said he saw the other movie last nite and laughed so hard....I thought it was pretty good and there were some funny parts....but I just didnt get that it was that funny ......
Plus my son is getting a dog tomorrow....they went to the pound today and found a 2 yr old terrier mix....they are picking him up tomorrow...so they are pretty excited about it.....I cant wait to see him...I'll get some pictures and post them tomorrow.
