Hi nanaheads
Looking for some information - actually cruise related! You may have read an earlier post where we are skipping formal night in a plan to cut down on what we pack for our 2 week trip to california later this week. I have no need for a jacket with the exception of Palo. However, I am remembering that the "official" rule for dinner is a dress shirt and slacks for me. Jacket is obviously something 'recommended' but not required. Am I remembering that correctly -- AND i seem to remember when we were there for dinner that there were plenty of guys dressed this way and even in just regular polo/golf shirts with khakis (along with those fully suited up) . I'd love to skip packing the jacket as it takes up lotsa room too.

In the fall, we are back to hitting formal night (unless we love skipping it) and I may even bring the tux. But since this trip is so long...we are looking for savings whereever we can.

Does anyone remember the overall dress of the men at Palo for dinner?

Jeff, I don't recall men at dinner in Palos not in a tie and jacket, but the khakis and golf shirts were for brunch. Maybe if you just take dress pants, dress shirt and tie? Then you can skip the jacket.

Jeff:

I have done a jacket and a tie, and tie only. On the last cruise (2006), since I carried a tux, I didn't carry a jacket. So, on Palo night, I just wore the shirt and tie, and did not feel out of place at all.

Good morning! What is everyone going to try to get for Palos? Brunch, teatime?, or dinner? Just wondering who I would be up against? :lmao: We really would like to do brunch.

Palo or brunch Reservations

Is it Midnight on the 31st of August, or is it 90 days away per day?

Say we wanted to book Palos Wednesday night, Do we have to call The 3rd of September?

Bobby, all reservations are able to be made, for those who have previously sailed, 90 days before the sail date. So, you can book everything at the same time on the same date, August 31 in our case.:thumbsup2

At least now those of us on the East coast don't have to get up at 3:00 a.m. to do the booking!

Morning all you crazy nanaheads:goodvibes

Jeff, have an awesome trip, bring us back lots of great photos:thumbsup2

well we are headed towards 95+ today, thank goodness we dont have alot of humidity here like Florida had;)

we have been discussing when we move back to Florida, hopefully in the fall stopping by Disneyland for a day to see it. Greg has never been there and I was only there once when I was 14. Although that was just a few years ago:rolleyes1 I'm sure it has changed alittle since then.

The have kennels like WDW has , so there would be some where to leave the dogs for the day too. i will investigate a bit more before November when we hope to move back.

Gregs foot is better, but still painful.

Nothing else going on around here for now, so I will go check out the 09 board.

Back later,

Kathy

With all this talk about packing I think I am going to start my packing spreadsheet today. I really am going to try to keep it down to just two pieces of luggage:scared:. This last cruise I packed a lot less for Joey and had plenty of room but I didn't have to fly so I have no idea how much it weighed:confused3. I am also going to try to pack outfits so I can wear the same pair of shoes more than once:eek:. If I wore more black I wouldn't have a problem but if have to pay the $50 for the extra piece so be it.

Christine, did ya read my posts from last night at all?! Bathing suits, cover-ups, dinner clothes ... THAT'S IT!!! Scale down woman!

Scotch and Two Drops of Water

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, “I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today.”
The bartender says, “Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink. This one’s on me.”
As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, “I would like to buy you a drink, also.”
The old woman says, “Thank you.” And tells the bartender she would like another Scotch with two drops of water.
“Coming up,” says the bartender.
As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, “I would like to buy you one, too.” The old woman says, 'Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water.”
“Coming right up,” the bartender says.
As he gives her the drink, he says, “Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?”
The old woman replies, “Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue.”

That's usually all I pack. It's always the dinner clothes that get me. I will only bring two casual outfits to wear on the ship and one more regular outfit for Key West, everything else will be bathing suits and cover ups.

The one thing I learned from last year is no matter what always have your bathing suit on because you never know when you might have to jump in the pool to find someone's glasses:thumbsup2

Then why does the ship list starboard when your luggage gets in your stateroom?!

It will only let you book (1) Brunch, (1) Dinner and (1) Tea. If you want two brunches you will have to book the second one when you get on the ship.
