Its hard to believe that I live only about 700 miles from Rushmore, but have never seen it. I heard about the crazy horse momument and plan on seeing it also.

There's an old 1880 steam train in Hill City that Brayden wants to ride, so we'll probably do that too......Brayden loves trains!!

Sounds like a great trip!! We have talked a lot about going out west, and just never seem to go. Our summer is already filling up with camping trips, so I doubt we will go this year either, but I will mention it to John.

Greg I think you asked if we rebooked. We did not. I am ok with it. I know when we do cruise again it will have to be over Thanksgiving and Disney will be way to much $$$$ at that time. We may go on DCL again some day, but it will have to be in the summmer. Jordyn will be in highschool by 2010 and I think it will be hard for her to catch up. I am researching RCCL or the newest Carnival ship for 2010. We will see.

Tell Holly and Nicole hi from the girls. Jordyn wants to email Nicole and Elizabeth soon. She has been talking about it for a week now.

We didn't stay either day for the parade. Kids are split on parades. Lizzie hates em, Emily loves em. So we don't go see every one.

The crowd the night we went to Osbourne Lights was not bad at all. There was lots of room to stroll and take pictures. I think we got there late enough that it was just right.

Jeff-I am glad you guys had a good trip. Looking forward to seeing pictures. Tell Mina and the girls hello.

Hello again to everyone - I'm having a blast reading this thread and it is getting me really excited for this cruise!

Sorry - I should have introduced us at the last post - I'm Alicia - and there is my husband Jeff and two boys - Joel who is now 8, but will be 9 when we cruise and Justin who is now 6 but will be 7 then. We will be traveling with some of our closest friends Kevin, Leanne, Kyra (7) and Declan (5).

We live in Lancaster, PA -so right now it is just COLD! I am a Disney nut - so much so that about 6 months ago I became a travel agent to help people plan Disney trips. (I actually went to work for the travel agent who booked our Disney cruise!) We are DVC members to - and we go to Florida a lot (next trip is just hubby and me for a mid winter/mid tax season break in about 6 weeks- hubby is a CPA)

It will be the first time cruising for our family of four - so I'm a bit on the nervous side - but I love adventure - so it will be fine. My kids don't know that we are going yet - they know we are going eventually because we've watched the dvd and seen every travel channel special on it - they are so pumped for the clubs - I guess they will be split up because of their ages ...

Anyway - thanks for the welcome - I'll be around on the boards and look forward to meeting you all on the big boat!

Welcome Alicia and family. We ARE actually booked on this sailing and plan to keep it unless something unusual comes up. It's me (Jeff) my DW, DD10 and DD5. Looking forward to "typing with you" over the coming months and meeting you in November!

I am still hoping to do this cruise. If we dont it will be the first time in 4 years we missed this cruise





Greg, the steam train is great. I have done it a couple of times. South Dakota has a wealth of fun things to see and do and I have be lucky enough to do most of them.
I even liked Bedrock city with the Flintstones.
I want to go back again, maybe after Greg is retired and we travel in our RV cross the country.

Hi Jaime,

we wont know until the end of the month if we are going back early.
Greg has an appointment with a potential client this morning. If they get some jobs he will still have his job and we will wait until May, when the roads will be safer and we wont have as long to wait to get into our house.

If he gets laid off at the end of the month, we will take 2 weeks to get ready then head back to Florida. we have one high mountain pass to go over and it is covered with ice and snow everyday right now, they sand it and it just gets covered again in a matter of minutes right now.
We cant drive an RV on that. so we would need to go between storm to cross it. If we went back the northern route we would have mulitple mountians to go over so thats out of the question.

so for safety it would be best if we could wait until spring to go back, plus our youngest son may go with us and that would work best for him too.

I finally got to see Wall E last night. It was a cute show but not something I would watch over and over again like some animated shows. It is worth seeing at least once.

We are suppose to be in the upper 40's today. YEAH!!
My DD's both woke up to 3 to 5 inches of new snow this morning and none was predicted?? So after 3 weeks off due to snow and Christmas break it looks like there will be a 2 hour delay today for starting back.

Kids will love that until they have to make up days at the end of the year.
