Hi Kathy:wave2:

Your trip sound wonderful! We always wanted to do Discovery Cove but were waiting until Alicia was 6 so she can do the swim too. We always wondered if it was worth the cost but it does sound wonderful...and I never knew you got Seaworld passes with the admission to Discovery Cove.

Looks like I missed you again. :lmao:

Yes, Discovery Cove was awesome!!

When you book a reservation you have your choice of getting a 14 day Seaworld pass or a pass to Bush Gardens in Tampa (they will bus you there and back if you want), or you can pay an extra $45 and get a combo pass for Aquatica, Seaworld and Bush Gardens.

If you've done a dolphin swim before then I wouldn't recommend doing it again at Discovery Cove unless its something you really love doing.

It is very expensive, but it was so much fun! :woohoo:

At Discovery Cove we never had to wait in line for anything.

I didn't think it was possible to be so relaxed and have so much fun at the same time!

Its "all inclusive" so the meals, drinks and snacks are included. (meals we're very good also)

The people are super friendly...was almost like they could read my mind and knew what I wanted before I had to ask for it. :thumbsup2

We're definatley going back to Discovery Cove! :cool1:

We have never done a dolphin swim before but I wouldn't do it unless Alicia was old enough too. Is there enough to do at Discovery Cove without the swim. Did you spend the full day there? Do they supply floation for snorkling like at Castaway Cay? Hmmm with passes to SeaWorld and all your food included the price isn't as bad as I thought.

We will let you know. I know my girls would like to cruise with you guys too. John said to me this morning How about going to Hawaii in 2010 instead?? :yay: :yay: So now we have to start doing some research. I will keep ya posted if we book a cruise.

Hey Lorna - We are headed for Hawaii this summer (August). We canceled our Eastern with Tortola cruise and scheduled a trip to the islands instead. Just told the girls last week while we were at WDW. They were SO excited. We are going to do four nights on Oahu, six on Kauai and five on Maui. Can't wait!

Jeff

Now that most of the Nana's are chatting on "Facebook" there just isn't much activity on the DIS anymore.

I signed up with Facebook the other day, but I'm still mostly lost as to whats going on and knowing who is online.

So far I don't see any "green light" that tells me if another Nana is online with me. :lmao:

Me too Greg. I just can't keep up. It's even more work than the DIS.

Hi Jaime,
nice job getting the top and keeping Greg away from it!!
Good to hear there arn't many headaches any more.

We arrived as soon as they opened at 8am and didn't leave until after they closed at 6pm and were wishing we could of stayed longer! :sad1:

The dolphin swim wasn't really that exciting for us. You only get to spend about 30 minutes in the water with the dolphins and most of that time is spent standing next to the shore while they bring the dolphins next to you so you can touch them.

I think they do offer another package where you can spend more time with them, but it was even more expensive.

The swim time consists of swimming out about 50 feet and letting the dolphin pull you back to shore.....30 seconds tops? :confused3

What we really enjoyed was the coral reef, lazy river and aviary.

The coral reef is incredible....so many fish and stingrays to swim with....spent hours doing that.

Brayden and Holly really had fun in the lazy river. Its heated and felt great to them. Its like a real river in the tropics. They had treasure chests and old canons, old Mayan ruins scattered on the river bottom along with dinosaur fossils. (if you just floated it without stopping you could probably do the circle in 20 minutes, but there are so many things to see and do along the way that it always took us an hour or longer) :lmao:

Every time Brayden would discover something new on the river bottom I though he was going to hyperventilate because he would get so excited! :lmao:

They issue "wet suites" to everyone and they keep you afloat, but they do have extra life jackets and tubes for kids. (all included in your reservation)

Brayden at first didn't wear a life jacket....the wet suit kept him up, but we did get him a life jacket later in the day because he was getting so excited about everything and didn't "fear anything" that we decided to get the life jacket too.

The bird aviary is amazing. You just hold out your arms and hands and they fly right to you. I think at one time I had 3 Tucans, 2 parrots, and 4-5 other bird all on my shoulders, arms and head! :rotfl2:

The other nice thing about the aviary is you can get right out of the lazy river and walk up the steps to it and spend time feeding the birds then walk right back into the water and finish your river journey. :woohoo:

Ok, I've got to stop talking about Discovery Cove....the more I talk about it the more I'm tempted to buy airfare to take us back there this weekend. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Morning to you too Greg.
Are you still getting lots of snow?
We are suppose to hit 52 today and lots of rain. UGH!!!

where are you too??
Guess you must be busy at work but surely you can spare 10 minutes in the evening to say Hello.

My whip hand is getting twitchy, of course that might be old age.

I keep thinking of nice warm Florida and almost everyday Greg has to tell me what the temperatures were at our house for the day. Grrrrrrr!!!

He loves to rub it in.

Hey Jeff,

We had thought about doing Hawaii this year too, but this summer will probably be our only opportunity to see a shuttle launch so we're hoping it works out for us. :worship:

Two weeks in Hawaii.....now thats sounds like fun!! :woohoo: :cool1:

Greg,
we have had many friends do Discovery cove and never heard any bad about it. Everyone seems to love it.

I am curious about their new water park myself.

Jeff...Nice trip...Wish I could go. DD graduates HS this year, and although she has received full scholarships from 2 schools you know it will still cost us something and we don't know how much that will be until she makes her final decision in April. Damn books, I could print them myself for less :lmao:
Food that she won't eat anyway is mandatory :confused3

Never been to Kauai or Maui, although I've heard Maui is wonderful. Did you book a package or make your own package?
