Brantley,
we love the 3 day cruises. It is like a 3 day weekend to us.
But after doing the 7 day it feels like it goes by too fast.
They do have the new Toy Story show which is NOT on the Magic.
we have done 8 or 9 3 day cruises.
A few things are different. Basically the lay out is exactly the same, just a different theme in the club area and the nice eating restaurant. One is Tritons, one is Lumiere's.
You only have one port Nassau. many dont like Nassau and will stay on the ship.
I like Nassau.
When we go on cruises we go to see different cultures and how they live as well as the geographic differences and such. Many are turned off because Nassau isnt as clean or nice new buildings like other islands. To me it is seeing a different way of life and makes me more thankful for mine.
All the people we have met were so nice and friendly.
There are several great excursions there as well as exploring on your own.
Atlantis has an awesome aquarium. floor to ceiling windows for excellant view for all ages. Tour takes over an hour and they move fast. some is outside and inside. But when its over you can go back through at your own speed and really enjoy it. Plus you can see the magnificient architecture of the inside of atlantis.
the 2 hour historical city tour was great and I am NOT a history buff at all.
we saw Queen Anne's staircase, 2 forts, one of which had a guided tour because it was really in great shape. It was like a mini van, so we were in small groups which was really nice.
we also took a tour of the bay which showed us all the multi million dollar homes of the stars,
from the water taxi.
another time we did on our own the Pirate museum which was $12 per adult and $8 per kid. allow about an hour. It is self guided and very interesting, but the first part is really dark. It is a night scene on a pier but after that it is well lite again. usually a pirate greets you to take your tickets and watch and rings if you dont watch him.Ha Ha!! Some really get into their part, others don't. But is they seem extra nice, tease them a little and they will really get into being a pirate for you.
This is about a 10 minute walk from the ship, it is a large purple building 2 blocks behind the strawmarket which is on the road along the water front. You can seeit from deck 10.
There is a horse and carriage ride on the first road too. as you exit the security building at the port , everyone has to turn right on the side walk which takes you to the first road, the horses are on your left, straw market to your right 5 blocks. You cant miss them.
These carriges look run down a bit but it is still fun to do, because we just dont get to do this sort of thing at home.
They charge per person and the amount is according to how long a rid eyou want. Last time we did about 25 minute for $15 each. they do narrate but it is hard to hear them due ot the traffic noises. But it is well worth doing once.
we took our grandaughter onit last year and she loved it. she sat by the driver.
so yes the 3 day are fun and well worth doing. Right now check allseas travel and
dreams unlimited for prices. There are lots of specials out there this year.
Plus since your a repeat cruisers there will be a gift waiting for you in your room.
of course the parks are fun too??
