Hi Kathy
How do you enjoy the 4 day cruises? Do you feel they are too short? Is Nassua nice? Is the Wonder just as nice as the Magic? What's the main differences? Just trying to figure out all our options so we can work with airfare.... Thanks
Hi Jaime,
our first cruise was a 4 day. we loved it. Yes after doing a 7 day it seems too short however our main reason for NOT booking more 4 days is they cost almost what 7 day does, so may as well get 3 more days out of our money, plus with travel time and the days it goes we miss a weeks work anyway, so may as well get 7 days if we have to miss 5 days work.
Nassau some hate but we like it a lot. Many judge it by the port area which is old run down buildings, but it has a lot to offer.
The 2 hour historical tour hots 2 forts and Qieen Anne's staircase and it was great.
Atlantis's aquarium was awesome and I am not big into aquariums since I have seen so many over the years but this one is a must see. The tours move too fast, but you can just show your wrist bracelet and go through on your own afterwards and take your time. it is inside and outside both.
If you want water slides and great pools, pay for the excusrion where you can use Atlantis's pool area.
They have a great Pirate museum about 10 minute walk from the ship, the straw market is about 5 blocks from the ship if you want to barter for items. Be sure and examine all things carefuly for open seams or stains on clothing, but knick knacks are ok.
The main shops are on the street behind the straw market.
We took the horse and carriage ride, right at the port and that was fun too. Although quite noisy from all the traffic until you get off the main road.
I found Nassau to be a real education as to how other countries live compared to us, on the main island. Very poor and run down houses.
Atlantis is for movie stars and the very rich. we took a harbor tour last time and saw houses(mansions) from the boat that Tom Cruise, Oprah, Micheal Jordan, Peter O'Toole and many others own.
Cruise paid $10,000 ofr each palm tree along his property and lose a few in a hurricane. Of course insurance replaced them. I have pictures of all the mansions we saw and huge Yachts too.
If you go and need specific info on something, please ask, we have been there too many times to count and have done many of the excursions too, plus explored on our own a few times.
