The kids loved it....I enjoyed The Journey to the Center of the Earth better myself. :rolleyes1

Madagascar was great. I think we're going to the movies tonight and see part 2. :woohoo:

We loved that movie...we may take the girls to see part 2 soon too.

I wish that were true. Last year when Elizabeth was in third grade and she was going to miss 4 days, she had a MOUNTAIN of homework. This year is even more intense (we live in a scary competitive school district) so I am scared to death of what she is going to have this year - especially because we are leaving on Thanksgiving Day so we don't have that whole day (as we did last year) for her to do homework to get it out of the way I really don't want her to have to bring mounds of homework on vacation with us but I guess that's the price we pay for traveling during school.

Thankfully she is an EXCELLENT student who rarely brings home anything other than an A on a test.

Kierra had 25 sheets to do when she got home from the cruise last year and she was in Kindergarten...she did a journal while we were gone and also a word sheet everyday...I was really surprise when we got home to find 25 sheets waiting for her. The homework doesn't concern me though because both girls seem to be advance with there work but Alicia may have trouble adjusting to returning to school after being out for a while.

Ya, I've heard of plans to start having kids learn to read at age 3. :sad2:

I figure life is complicated enough without trying to turn our kids into little Einstien's by the time they're 16.

Alicia's pre-school age 3&4 are teaching sight words for reading...I was really surprised...

I have the same problem with Chayce. He's always gotten straight A's and if he even thinks he might be getting a B he gets really depressed!!

We've had many talks, but it doesn't seem to help.

I just read on the 08 board that Emily is sick. Hope she gets to feeling better soon. :thumbsup2

Jeff I hope Emily is better soon pixiedust:

Bev,
hope you had a good weekend.:goodvibes
Is your weather still good enough to ride your cycle?

Too nasty here, pouring rain and strong winds.

Kathy

Since we've been home from our cruise the weather has been a mix of cold & dry, warm and wet or cold and wet. With all the leaves coming down it can get very slick even when it's dry, so I haven't been out since we're home. I'm hoping to get out this week during the day when the sun is out. I have a winter pink & black motorcycle coat and pink leather chaps and a pink cashmere scarf so I should be OK till the sun goes down. I have to go to the shop to do my DD's hair tomorrow & I have a class at the shop on Wednesday. The shop is only 5 minutes (1 mile) from home so it is a short drive if it is cold. I may also try going on it to the gym if it seems OK riding to the shop. The gym is 5 miles from home. Thursday it's supposed to start raining again.

Checking in before bed.

Kathy, I am really glad that Randy got some relief. I bet his dogs are sooo worried about him.

Greg, you know I think our Nana friend, Judy, got steriod shots when she needed them and swore by them. I don't remember ever being asked if I wanted one :confused3 I just wonder if they'd work. It would be heavenly to be without pain if only for a few minutes. Don't overdo now--your backs still bad even though it doesn't feel it!

Do you have a picture? I can't even imagine pink leather chaps!! :yay:

The boys and I really need to catch up on some movies! We didn't even go and see one of the free fall ones! This winter on those cold, snowy days we'll probably be renting some. We haven't seen any of those that you guys listed. I also like to wait until they are off the new release list then you can get them for 5 nights for a $1!

Guess I'm out of here for the night. Have to stop at the 08.
Good Night!

No pictures yet. Haven't worn them yet. When DH said he wanted to get me chaps for the cycle he showed me pictures online of black ones. I told him if he couldn't get them in pink I didn't want them. He found them and got them. I am still looking for an large embroidered patch of Tinkerbell to put on the back of both my jackets. I have Tink sticker on my helmet and the words "I'll Never Grow Up!" on both sides.

I'm not sure I was in enough pain to warrant wanting several injections right into my joints, but the pills work wonderful. :thumbsup2

Dawn,
my friends mom had painful knees and they gave her a cortizone shot right in the joint. It was an extremely slow and painful shot but no more pain for 5 years until she passed away.

well time for me to go to bed.
I didnt feel well at all today. Greg is almost over this dumb virus but I am just starting to feel bad. :headache:

The storm is already starting tonight. The wnds are arriving as i type.
was only suppose to be 25 MPH, now they are saying 40 to 50 MPH here with heavy rain for 2 days:sad2:

Hope I dont loose my internet but it wouldnt surprize me as bad as it is.

Good night all,

Kathy

I don't think you would make the typical "Harley" girl! :lmao:

Good night all,

Kathy

Maybe half of that headache is the barometer changing!

Good Morning! No Jaime yet this morning!

I 'made' Skylar go to school this morning. Yesterday, I really felt that he could have went. Today he had a headache. I gave him Tylenol and sent him on his way. I think he just doesn't have enough time in the morning to feel better (wake up) before leaving.

Elizabeth is going to come over for a little bit after Tumblebugs, doing laundry, otherwise I'll sew and make some dowels.

I'll check back in later. Kathy, stay warm. Hope the headache gets better.

Happy Veterans day all

our parades will need boats not floats to get down the road. Up to 4 to 5 inches of rain within 24 hours:eek:
Took the girls out to GO this morning. They didnt want to go out but eventually did but just a quick pee then right back in:lmao: Normally they do a bit more than that every morning.
So now I am on POO watch:rotfl2:
waiting to see a sign they cant wait any longer and will make a quick dash to go. They will wait until the very last minute when the weather is bad.:rolleyes1 Very windy too.

My headache is still there but better than yesterday. Hope its all gone by tomorrow, but I kinda doubt it:sad2:

Kathy

Dawn, it's just you and me this morning.
No Greg, Jaime or Bev:confused3

Brantley should be dropping by soon, since it's been a few days since he posted.
