Best vacation - Before kids - Hands down our honeymoon in Maui
After Kids - a tie between our trip to Maui last summer and our first Bananahead Cruise (2006) and our recent trip to the Grand Floridian.

The Grand Floridian looks really nice...Glen has been hinting he'd like to stay at the Polynesian.

Maui looks like a really nice place especially for a honeymoon...I wouldn't have thought about bringing the girls there...hmmm.

The strange part about we enjoying Alberta was we were there in winter and I hate winter! I wish we had our DSLR camera back then;)

Calgary itself was pretty neat...there were many different activites to do there especially with children...we loved the science museum and the zoo.

We took many trips to the mountains to Banff. There was wildlife everywhere which was neat. Kierra got a kick of being able to get in the hotsprings in the middle of winter:goodvibes

Here are some Banff pictures...

Lake Louise was beautiful…we took Kierra ice skating in the ice castle…

The badlands were cool…you’d be driving on flat farmland and then all of a sudden it would drop off into what appeared to be craters…

My favorite place there was Lake Waterton...it was breath taking...

The park is joined Montana's Glacier National Park to form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.

Jaime, nice pictures!! :thumbsup2

Brought back allot of memories....my wife and I were in Banff and surrounding areas for part of our honey moon. :lovestruc

Thanks Greg:goodvibes

It would make a wonderful honeymoon...some the the prettiest hotels...

The last trip we did before we came back was up through Banff...to the Glacier...to Jasper...to the West Edmonton Mall...it was a long drive but a lot of fun. You can't drive it through the winter so we went as soon as the road opened...you drive along the mountain edge at times...

We would love to visit in the summer...maybe someday we'll move out that way...

Okay, since you guys are my BFF's, I'll share the most embarrassing moment that I have NEVER been able to live down. I am reminded of it ALL the time!

When the kids were about 10, 7, and 4, they were scared of thunder. It was thundering one day and they are scared as usual. So, I took them out on to the covered porch and was calmly telling them about thunder and lightening. Counting the seconds, etc. Well, the BIGGEST bang I've ever heard, you know the kind that startles your kagebees (my spelling) off! It picked that moment to happen. Guess who was the first person back in the house? Did you guess? Yup, it was me! Left my 3 children to fend for themselves out on the porch! About broke my toe getting back in the door!

I was rewarded the mother of the year that year! :flower3:

Thats funny. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
sorry about the toe though, that wasnt fun.

Your secret is safe with us:rolleyes1

Oh and yes I just about killed him about the age joke:thumbsup2

Jaime, great pictures:goodvibes I got chills looking at the snow and could just about feel the cold crisp fresh air going in and out of my nose. I love that fresh crisp air feeling.

Gosh its hard to choose vacations??
Not counting Disney to start with.
One year we did a road trip when the older 2 were on their own, so it was us Rachel and Peter.
we drove from Oregon to South Dakota.

we saw Mount Rushmore, Bedrock city with the Flintstones, Deadwood and boot hill there were several famous people from the old west are burried. Also saw Custers battle field, Chief Crazy Horse Monument, many museums, then in Utah I believe was the Monmouth hot springs and dinosaur dig place I cant think of the name, but it was fascinating.

That was our first time at a water park and first real road trip out of the state with the kids. All the photos are packed, but it was fun.
Greg invented Chesty ( his sunglasses clipped to his shirt) to entertain the kids. He made up a squeaky voice for him and he ordered in t he restaurants and bought admission tickets to places. I was soooo embarassed but the kids laughed til they cried.

Best Disney world trip was our first time there. We flew out from Oregon with our 2 youngest and Ana our 5 year old grandaughter. It was so magical for all. Our grandaughter made it possible for us to see it through the eyes of a child as well as our first time. Too many special moments to write about, but it was truly a magical vacation.
again all photos are packed.

Of course every cruise was an awesome vacation too.

Have only a minute. Guitar and soccer tonight. Hi Jeff!

Like Jeff I've had many wonderful vacations! First one that came to mind was Hawaii. We stayed at Oahu and Maui for 2 weeks. A close second was in 2006 the boys and I spent a week at Mackinaw. We really enjoyed ourselves--the boys keep asking when are we going back, so I think they really enjoyed it too.

Disney, has to be the cruise last year. Not only did we have the BEST time but met many friends I hope I'll keep a lifetime! Can't say that about many vacations!

That sounds like a really neat road trip:goodvibes

As far Disney...every vacation is special because of the amazing customer service...we did find WDW lacking a little last time but we figured it was because the service on the cruise was amazing!

Evening Nana 9er's!!

I've been cleaning house all day and I'm beat!

Holly and Brayden have both worn me out today......no energy left. :faint:

Time to get dinner going....I'll check back later.

Ok, I'm back.

Just read back through the posts.....best vacation and embarrassing moments huh?

Well the embarrassing I'm not sure on....I have so many and on a daily basis that I don't keep track and try to forget! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Best vacation for us would be Hawaii also. In fact we'd probably be headed there this year, but decided to go cruising with the Nana's instead! :woohoo:
