Hi, everyone! I have been crazy busy at work, but am sooo looking forward to finally putting together my spreadsheet for this trip and starting to figure out excursions, etc.
I think we are going to rent an electric car in Key West and will probably do a jeep excursion in Cozumel, but haven't figured out anything else. How about everyone else?
Just saw your post and wanted to give a tip about the jeep excursion in Cozumel. We did it last November. First it is a very good tour. The views once your away from the city are awesome and the lunch is very good, the guides were great too.
If this is the same tour as us you drive the jeeps your self, is that right?
If so be warned if your in the drivers seat first (you can trade off with another driver if your jeep isnt filled by your group)
at the last minute as your about to pull out they have you sign another waiver saying you'll take complete responsibility for any damages to the jeep and you have insurance to cover all the damages.
But most american insurance companies will NOT cover you out of the U.S. unless you prearrange it with them and buy a special policy for that day.
I know the odds are slim of an accident but these are expensive jeeps and just in case you better make sure your covered or you could be running up a credit card to cover a fender bender there.
The return part of our trip there was a lot of traffic.
Now if you share your jeep with another driver and he drives first he will sign the paper and be responsible. That paper also makes you responsible for the other driver of your jeep if you let him have a turn driving.
They dont give you time enought to read this contract. Just sign and go!
we didnt relaize until we returned what we had signed. That was scary to think if the other man had crashed and hurt someone we would be liable for all costs, including medical

Maybe a guy could fight it in court but who wants to miss vacation and they do have yoru signature, so your stuck!
Just thought you should know, so you can talk with your insurance people before you go. It is a great excusrion and well worth the money.
