:wave2: Good Morning my fine friends!

One won baseball game 16 - 3 and lost the other 5 - 2. Another game at 2:30 today. If we win that one, we'll probably move on to the next game at 5. No team had won both games as of last night.

I guessed I missed the best soccer game of the season. The boys had finally hit a team that they had to work at winning. They are still undefeated but this game was a tie. Anyone know why in soccer to don't continue playing until someone wins?

Greg, since you posted from Aruba. Tell us--is it everything you expected? Questioning minds want to know.

So, getting chores done around the house today before we leave to the game.

Everyone have a great Sunday!

Hi Dawn.

Yes, it is very beautiful here! It also very humid! I left a couple of Oreo cookies on the counter last night and I just ate one and it was really mushy because of the humidity! :lmao:

We only got to explore between the airport and the resort yesterday. Our flight arrived at 2:30pm yesterday and by the time we made it through immigration and got our rental car it was about 4pm.

We made it to the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club resort and our condo was ready and waiting for us. They had a bell hop who unload our luggage from the car for us and took it straight up to our room.

Marriott is always very good to us. We got a lot of discount coupons for dinning and other activities. They also gave us $100 (OBC) credit to use for anything at any of the Marriott resorts on the island. Ruth Chris's steak house is next door at the Stellaris casino, so we'll use it for that! :woohoo:

Once we got unpacked we took a sunset walk along the beach. I can't believe how warm the water is!.....its perfect!! :thumbsup2

Anyway after 13 hours of sleep I finally woke up....Janel is still in bed! :rotfl2:

Today we're planning on just laying by the pool and beach and just relaxing. Tomorrow we starting learning to scuba dive!! :cool1::cool1:

My sense of Aruba so far is that the ocean and beach are very beautiful, but its not a lush tropical oasis like Hawaii or other caribbean islands. I knew Aruba was a "desert island" before I came so it wasn't a surprise to me. I was more interested in water activities then land activities, so Aruba suits me perfect for this trip. :thumbsup2

I uploaded some photo on Facebook and I'll try and upload some here later on.

Catch ya'll later.....off to have some fun and relax. :thumbsup2

Wow Greg! That video made me feel like I was there! Enjoy! :thumbsup2

The boys did win their last game but I guess "their formula" that decides who moves on still went to that team because they had more score or something like that.

Night all.

Hey everyone...hope you had a great weekend.

Great video Greg...enjoy your scuba lessons, I love diving. The last time I was in Aruba there were only 2 hotels, this was back before it became a tourist destination. I probably wouldn't even recognize it.

3 more days until Disney....can't wait...

I think I will go for the top while everyone is away

Howdy all,
Gosh I go away for the weekend and Chuck steals the top and brags he is going to WDW which is where I want to be, so that just doesnt seem fair some how, then i see a youtube video and click on to see Greg the shark man in the warm tropical water, rubbing it in.:snooty:

I think I will go away again and see what else can happen:lmao:

Dawn, glad the boys are doing so well.

Hi Denise, I am keeping my fingers crossed for your house to sell.:thumbsup2

Hi Allison:goodvibes

Well I am very tired but it was the best weekend so far for seeing my mom.
Saturday the visit had a few rough spots but sunday was the best since she has been there. Both days we spent alot of time in the courtyard enjoying the sunshine and all the birds in the bird houses out there and all the flowers they have and decor around the flowers. Plus I watched a robin sneak through shrubs to get to the lower branch of a fir tree and after he left I took a peak and there was mama robin on her nest.:cloud9:

So I quickly and quietly left. Now mom can watch for the babies to hatchout.

We are upper 80's and low 90s here which is really hot for us.

I have one more weekend to go back to moms before we leave for Florida but even if she is not in the right mental set that I can visit i wont feel bad after this weekend.

Time to go and relax.
Catch everyone tomorrow when I 'm not so tirerd.

Kathy

Good Morning, Everybody.

Kathy, I am SO glad you're getting to go home to Florida! -But it sure was a blessing that you were able to be in Oregon when your mom needed you.

We are well, but a little nutty busy - when did we find time to work? I LOVE retirement, lol.

Happy Day, All!

:wave2: Good Morning All!

Raining cats and dogs today! That's ok had a beautiful weekend. Skylar probably will have his last soccer practice cancelled, which is too bad. :sad2:

Have lots of errands to do today but I'm really sore today from working around the house yesterday--cleaning up the garage and putting the stuff away from the garage sales and the boys fixed the cabana roof yesterday which had lost some shingles from the wind this winter. Of course, I supervised from the ladder, but the climbing up and down a couple times took there toll.

Hi Linda, glad you are enjoying your retirement!

Chuck, You sneaky dude you :thumbsup2 Have a GREAT time at the world--I'm sooooo there! 77 days until we leave, but who's counting! :rotfl:

Kathy, that's nice you got to have a nice visit with your mom! Wow, time is moving fast! You didn't say so I assume you found places to stop with the girls.

Check back later.

Howdy all,
Linda its great to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing? Just been too hectic to write people letters right now to check on people. Glad retirement is going so well for you guys:goodvibes

Dawn, How did the garage sale go? I know the weather can hurt the turnout. Hope it went well for you.

I have found places for us to stay from Oregon to 3/4 of the way across Texas so far. So I am making progress. KOAs will always take the pups and they are everywhere but also cost more, sometimes $25 more a night. So I am trying to find private camps which are usually $20 to $30 per night where KOAs often run $50 a night depending on where they are located.

I am also looking up where all the rest areas are and which ones are closed along the way. Plus trucks tops, the large ones like we have next to us. They always have easy on and off the freeway and are very easy to pull the RV in for gas. Much better than a normal size gas station.
I may not do too much today on that because I was up a lot last night and I am tired.

Poor minnie was ill last night and she got me up during the night to take her out. It took a long time before we could safely come back inside. Then about the time I was getting warm and comfortable again, she needed to go out again. By them it was close to 6 a.m. and time to get up anyway so Greg took her out but I was still up.
I wasnt happy to have to get up during the night but I am grateful she is trained well enough to come and get me to take her out instead of having an accident.

Its not raining here but it is cloudy. The temps are suppose to hit 78 today so I am sure the sun will be peaking out soon.:goodvibes

Have a good day all,
wonder where Brantley is???

Kathy

Good afternoon Nana's!!

We just came in to have some lunch then we're back to relaxing and having fun. I think we're going snorkeling this afternoon out to the ship wreck? We're suppose to start learning to scuba dive tomorrow. :woohoo:

FYI Kathy, I used to buy the KOA discount card. If you buy the card (don't remember the name), it gives you a great discount and the cost for the card is quickly recooped. Might want to check out.

:sad2: Poor Minnie but she has a good mommy to take care of her.

Yeah, where is that Brantley fellow? Probably busy with all that extra work he has now!

We both made only about $15 a piece. Steady traffic but a lot of lookers. I will probably put some of the stuff on ebay now.

Well, off to change the sheets.

Hi Greg,

Have fun. Looking forward to some awesome photos:goodvibes

Dawn, I do know about the card but for the few nights we have it wont pay for itself enough to make it worth buying, but If i knew for sure we were going to come back this fall, if the job market doesnt work out then it would pay for itself and then some.:thumbsup2

But its too late now anyway. it takes awhile to get it and we will be gone before it would arrive. But thanks anyway, I appreciate the info.
Sorry to hear it wasnt a great sale. But at least you made a few bucks. It all adds up.

Kathy

Hello all,

Kathy, sorry to hear Minnie is not feeling well.

We just got back from snorkeling and are getting ready for a big BBQ buffet and show they are having here at the resort.

Thought I'd upload a quick video of our snorkel adventure we had today.....it was a lot of fun. :woohoo:
