11/27/04 the sequel.....

Good to hear from you Darci!

Tracey-- No, I didn't book right away. I want to do a little comparison shopping. I was trying to check prices through DIS and they asked for my Castaway Club membership numbers and I realized that we had never received them. But I'm not sure I will book through Disney or one of the agencies.

Curt

Curt - Let us know how you get on, if this job comes off in September i might be looking myself :sunny:

Darci & CUrt - how about Christmas 07???? :flower:
Darci, i'm sure Curt could easily be pursuaded to book another one :)
When are the sail dates & prices out for 2007????

My kids had their very 1st TaeKwonDo tournament this afternoon! My dd (8) got 3rd place in sparring! My DS (9) got 1st place in sparring and 3rd place in forms! And my little tiger cub DS (5) was awesomely cute!:goodvibes

Curt – I think the one-on-one time is good for everyone. I think my Matt loves cruising because he gets time with me when I’m not stressed and tired from working.

Tracey – I agree with the small wedding also. Not all Americans go for the biggest. I didn’t want the big one for my first (that ended in divorce) but there was a lot of pressure from family so we ended up with 200 people.

Gailyn – are you okay? I’m getting worried about you. Maybe you just aren’t checking the boards lately.

Amanda – congrats on the kids first tourney. I imagine you get VERY busy with the kids going in all directions, but this looks like there is at least one thing they are doing together.

Darci – good to see you back. What week are you cruising in December 05? We’re going the 3rd. So maybe we’ll be getting off the ship when you are getting on. Bummer. Maybe, just maybe, we'll leave you some shrimp and lobster tails.

Kim – hi!! My Chicago trips slowed down. Almost every week for a while there was killing me. Even if it was only 1 night/2 days. I’ve only been out once since we met. Another short one with a dinner meeting the one night. I think I have another trip at the end of May or early June.

Everyone – we cruise on Carnival in 1 week. I’m really excited about the cruise and the vacation. I haven’t had a vacation since the November cruise and I am SOOOOOOO ready for one.

Diane

Diane - have a great trip & a cocktail for me ;)
Make sure you give us a trip report when you return,
which ship are you on?
Who did you book with?
Wish i was going :)

Amanda--congratulations to your kids doing so well in the Tae Kwon Do tournament! I've been in a few and they're not easy to win. Great job to all of them!

Tracey and Darci--Christmas '07 sounds like a great idea! We have one of those milestone "0" birthdays that occur every 10 years coming up in February 2008 (not mine, I just had my "0" birthday two weeks ago) so it could be a great Christmas/Birthday gift combined! I'm just not sure I can go that long before we book another cruise!

Curt - My big '0' is next year when we get married!
There wont be a cruise for us till 2007 (although we do get to come over for 3 weeks for the wedding!! - so not all bad) I just keep telling myself its not that far off if you think how quick this year is going by, i'm kinda rounding the months up so even though its 3rd May my cruise brain is telling me 'not long till Autumn!!' :flower:

That's very true. We're thinking about December 2006, but I'm still waiting for my Castaway Club items to arrive so I can get some quotes. Still, December 2007 with you and Darci sounds pretty inviting and it would go along with that big "0" birthday in February. We're also looking at what works best for the kids' ages. If we wait another year, we're looking at 6, 7, 11, 12, 13 and 15. I don't know if that would make a difference, but I think the extra year will give the kids more independence and Steph and I some time alone instead of carting children around constantly. I trust a 6 and 7 year old to do a much better job of keeping an eye on the 13 and 15 year olds. We may actually get to go to both lunch AND dinner at Palo's. Although the thought of my oldest daughter in a teen club--shudder!!!! :scared:

Curt

Curt - my DD would be 13 by christmas 2007, we can worry together!!!!
If the job at DD's school comes off, i would have to cruise the 2 weeks school is out & would love to be on the cruise on christmas eve :sunny:
Its a waiting game at the moment though with the job, i've been told i will get it, but until i've had an interview & its 'official' i wont be certain - i dont like to assume until its in writing!

We've just come back from a weekend in London & saw Kylie Mynogue in concert, had a great time, we had fantastic seats at the concert right near the stage & DD & my neice were picked up on the tv cameras (waving their banner they had made!!) as it was shown live on british tv!
It was great sight seeing too as i've not visited London for years, i went about 8 years ago with a friend but we only did 'Oxford Street' for the shopping ;)
The last time i went sight seeing there i was about 11!!!!
We managed to see sooooo much in 2 days it was unreal we visited: Big Ben, Westminster Abby, Houses of Parliment, St Pauls Cathedral, London eye, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, London Bridge & Buckingham Palace - where we saw Prince Charles arrive in his car!!!!
Boy am i worn out :goodvibes
They were also having the 60 years since VE day celebrations & i was snapping photos everywhere - Darci you would have been proud :flower:

Tracey--sounds like you had a great time! We have a huge outdoor concert venue just north of Indianapolis and I would love to go to another concert someday, but....well, I'm just not ready to look up on the stage and find two of of my children standing next to the lead singer. It sounds like you had a lot of fun in London--albeit, a busy time, though. I think we should plan for December 2007--we can drink away our worries about our new teens. Good luck on the job, I hope everything goes well for you.

Curt

Hi Guys!! I miss you all!! I once again am not getting emails from disboards! Been very busy here! April 19 I was diagnosed with a metabolic disorder (insulin resistance) by my fertility specialist. I had to start medication, go on a very strict diet, and I have to do 30 minutes of caridio every day and 30 minutes of weight training five days a week. I have been working with a personal trainer and it has all been going very well, but keeping me too busy. I have another blood test June 1 and if all the above interventions have worked then we will hopefully be trying again for a healthy pregnancy. In the meantime, on Mother's day, John told me he is ready to move forward with the adoption. We are both so excited but feeling scared that if we do move foward with both now we will end up with a newborn and newly adopted child all at once and have to be institutionalized :confused3 !! I think we have decided on adopting from Guatemala. Maybe China?

We went to Vegas last weekend without the kids for my cousins wedding, it was fabulous!! We stayed at the Venetian which I would highly recomend if anyone cares.

We have to go on a trip this Thanksgiving with the outlaws!! I wish I was planning a trip with you guys!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Kim, its nice to hear from you, hope all goes well with your new diet, workouts & everything else!!!
You sound very busy but also very positive :sunny:
I would love to do Vegas one day, Gary has always wanted to try the Luxor hotel.
Where are you off to for thanksgiving? It will be wierd being here for thanksgiving as its not celebrated in England & i loved celebrating it whilst we were in Disney last year, i think we will have to have our own English version thanksgiving dinner this time!!
I'm not feeling too well today, very tired, run down & a bit of a sore throat, we went out for the day yesterday & it was very hectic & i woke up at 4am this morning with my first hayfever symptoms, took some tablets & not sure if its those thats made me feel ill, or the hectic day out or if i caught the 'bug' Gary had last week OR a combination of everything!!!
Need some pixie dust sending over the pond please Tink :wizard:

Just returned from our Carnival Mexican Riviera Cruise. I can’t believe it came AND went so fast. We had a fantastic time. We were with family – Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Nephew, DH and DS5 and that made it extra special. Mom says it’s her last cruise. She has started using a cane and isn’t getting around like she used to. That didn’t stop her from getting down to the beach and up in a para sail in Mazatlan.

Curt – have 30th birthday!! :cheer2:

Tracy – I had a FEW cocktails for you and some Mexican beers as well. Hope you are feeling better - ….. here is some pixie dust.

Kim – I hope everything is going better with your insulin levels – keep up the good work!! And keep us informed about your adoption journey. I will never forget how scared I was the day I mailed my finished paperwork – thought I was going to pass out in the post office.

I really missed having people like you guys on the Carnival cruise. We had a total of 13 people at the meet – and 5 of them were my family. There was 1 nice couple that we spoke with a few times after the first meet, but the others we just waved in passing. The first meet was horrible. One woman completely monopolized the conversation – talking for about 30 minutes about a horrible cruise she and her parents had taken last year. And she was LOUD. No one else could talk so it was difficult to get to know anyone. We probably wouldn’t have hung out with any of them anyway because there were no kids in the group. But it just reminded me AGAIN how lucky we were last year to get a group like you!!!

And what Matt missed (besides his buddies) was ...... :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Diane

Diane - Glad you had a good cruise & glad you missed us a little bit ;)
It sounds like your mum made the most of her last cruise, i would love to see the photos! Not many people coming on here now, but i think everyone on the boards are following the reports from the repositioning cruise (me included!!)
Thanks for having the cocktails for me, would you do carnival again?
Well i'm gonna go and read what there all up to on the repo cruise just to torture myself some more :flower:
By the way - i'm feeling better now, went to bed at 8pm monday night & woke up feeling fine!! must have been a 24 hour thing OR more likely the pixie dust worked :)

Hey guys!! Long time no post! LOL I hope everyone is doing well. Curt and Tracey looks like you guys are planning to cruise again next year huh? Too bad I already have 2 cruises planned for 06! LOL We are getting ready to go to WDW this weekend for 10 wonderful days, and I am so ready as I havent really been since last July. I snuck a day at EPcot, precruise for our last Sept cruise but it was only one day. That does not count.

dzneprincess - wish i was going with you!!
Have a great trip & i hope you'll find time to report back when you return :flower:

Amanda - have a GREAT trip to WDW. 10 days ... that sounds wonderful. But I do count 1 day as a trip .... I have to - it's all I usually have, but I filled up that day so much last year that I thought Rick and Matt were going to leave me!!
