11/27/04 the sequel.....

THanks guys! you know me, last minute procrastinating packer..I am not even finished with laundry yet...sigh..you'd think I'd have all this together by now.....Anyone need anything while I am there?

Hello everyone - it has been ages since I have had time to read the boards and caught up with everyone.
Curt as you now see I am still here - have been so busy that the computer has not been as much as an obsession with me as usual.
Tracey - congratulations on your engagement - weddings are always fun and if I did it over again Disney is where I would get married.
Amanda - hope you guys are all well - my kids finished school yesterday and are full of all their summer plans
For everyone hope you are all well :)
We changed our December plans for a week on the Magic - had to change to the third week of January and since it is a week of some school holidays just couldn't justify the increase for the Magic so changed to Royal Caribbean - Majesty of the Seas. I am forever hopeful that it will be a great vacation. I am already drumming into the kids heads that they will not be as free to roam the ship as the magic. We surprised my mum with a ticket for the cruise and she is in a room across from us. The price we were paying on the Magic for a balcony got us a suite on royal caribbean. I am very worried that I have made a mistake but you never know unless you try right. Eric and I are going on a four day cruise starting Thursday to Key West and Cozumel on carnival.
Hope you are all well - have a wonderful summer.

April - have you done RCCL before?
I've heard they are very good, would like to hear your opinion when you return.
Looks like my wedding date will be 6th November 2006, they will confirm in a couple of days & we are getting married at sunset - i said i look better in the dark :rotfl:
I'm considering adding a 3 day cruise at the end, gotta see how the money/job goes & convince Gary!!!

Tracey,
How very nice for you - we have heard great things about RCCL and are really keeping our fingers crossed. My boys will be 10 and 12 and feel like they are getting too old for Disney. Personally I don't think anyone is ever too old for Disney. I will keep you posted on how everything goes on RCCL and let you know too about the four day Carnival cruise for next weekend. My mum is coming in two days and my house is still a mess................where did I hide the dinomite? I need to blow this place up lol.

It's been too long since I've been on the disboards. I started having withdrawal! Diane- I'm so glad you had a wonderful time on your cruise. It's great that your mom was able to go. We've been busy with my little brother's big fat Greek wedding, 500 people!! The bride had several relatives from Greece that stayed the month of the wedding. We all had a great time. It was a beautiful wedding. My brother and his new wife are in Hawaii for two weeks.

Tracey- Congratulations on the engagement and I hope you get good news on the job.

Kim- Good luck with the health issues and the exercise/weight regimine. I've started the 12 week Women's Body for Life Challenge. I've been getting up at 6:00 to work out 5 days a week for the last 6 weeks. I really want to be a better example for my kids and would love to be two sizes smaller in the process. I hope all goes well for you and John!

Amanda - Have a great time on your trip!!!

Miss you all,
Gailyn :flower:

Hi everyone! After being off of the board for a week, it's great to "see" everyone again! It's been a busy few weeks. One of our hospital vice presidents decided that four of us have to obtain a master's level certification in medical informatics. Apparently, she graduated from the program and thought so highly of it that she thought the rest of us should be required to do so as well, so it is now a job requirement.

April--I'm anxious to hear how things go on RCCL, especially for the younger set. Steph and I talked about booking DCL for December '07, but RCCL is always a possibility.

Kim--I hope everything goes well for you. Perhaps your crew should plan a cruise with us for December '07--sounds like you'll need a vacation by then!

Gailyn, Amanda and Tracey--there's probably room on the Magic for December as well.

That's all for now--got to get back to reading my 6 chapters.

Curt

Curt - after just finishing my level 3 qualification in childcare & education,
i feel for you, studying took over my life & it still feel wierd when i pick up a book to read & its not a childcare or education book, but a clive cussler novel!!!!!! Good luck, & i'm definatley considering Dec 2007 :flower:

December 2007 would be great! I hope we can all make it on board, it will be fun to see some of the 11/27 group! I love school, but the problem with this is that it was a "wouldn't be neat to have everyone get certified" decison by a V.P. Then she decreed that we were to complete the certification by next year or lose our jobs. Not a bit of pressure!

Curt

wow curt - no pressure at all!!!! :earseek:
I'm sure you will do it, & what a perfect excuse to book a 2007 cruise to celebrate ;)
I've heard the prices for 2007 come out around September, which is perfect for me as i should be starting my new job then,
application goes in tomorrow so wish me luck & send some of that pixie dust that always seems to work :teeth: In fact i'll send myself some!!
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Good luck, Tracey. I'll try to get some pixie dust over the ocean but I'm sure you will do fine.

Curt

Tracey, good luck with the job. I'm sending some pixie dust your way!!!

Curt- I know you can do it and there couldn't be a better reason to celebrate in '07!!! Working, going to school and taking care of a family is tough enough when you only have two kids!!! I can't even imagine how hard you must be working!!!

Kim, I hope all is well.

I hope everyone is enjoying summer.

Gailyn :flower:

Thanks, Gailyn. I think between milestone birthdays in '08 and this degree, it is a good reason to celebrate. Now I get to hang my head in shame--I priced RCI as well as DCL. The rates for '07 only go through February for RCI so I compared some of the same weeks for both. The kids loved DCL, but what a difference when you have to reserve two staterooms!

Curt

Curt - where did you price up??? Is December 07 available yet?
Closing date for the job is 24th June so should hear after then.
Hope every one is well :flower:

Actually, I used AAA who we booked through for November. No, December '07 isn't available yet, so I just looked at the same dates and similar itineraries. I talked with the kids today about it and they seemed to be leaning more toward DCL, but it's really hard for them to compare it to anything else. We'll probably not make any final decisions until the December '07 pricings come out. But it's a serious consideration. I love DCL, but to have the extra money for adult beverages and trinkets....

Curt

Hi guys! It has been almost 3 months since the last post to our thread! I just thought I would pop in and check on everyone! I would love to hear an update on life from everyone.
We are all doing well. The kids started school this past Monday, and I am officially the mother of a 5th grader! EEK How did that happen?!?!?!
I am headed down to WDW for Labor Day weekend. Just Taylor and I are going, for some quality mother daughter time. Then Steve and I are going on the Wonder on the 18th of Sept. for our 2nd annual cruise with no kids! Woohoo!!! Then I am headed back to WDW in late October for the wonderful food and wine fest!! Yippee! Needless to say I am going to have a Disney filled month! Hopefully, that will tide me over until the Double Scoop in May next year! Arent there some of you that are cruising the weekend after Thanksgiving this year??? How are plans going? I am excited for you all! Anyone going on the special 10/11 night cruises in Sept of next year? I was tempted to change my 09/16/06 to one of the longer cruises, but I just knew that I would not be able to find someone to be able to keep our kids for that long of a period! I donteven know if I have anyone to keep them for the 7 day next year! But if you never plan, youll never go! Anyways, I would love to hear from you all!

Got a shock when i saw in my e-mails that someone had posted on here!!!
Its been a while! Curt is is sending me pm's as we may be on the same cruise dec 07 (not booked yet waiting for prices). I have been keepingin touch with Darci but not heard from her for a while.
Wow you are so lucky to have all those trips planned!!
We are coming over next October for 3 weeks but no cruise, we are still getting married in Clearwater & i have picked my gown, we get merrried on 6th November 06, that date is confirmed when we arrive. :bride:
I got the teaching assistant job & start on 5th September so more money but will have to take holls in school holls so it will be a lot more expensive!! Looking forward to starting! :sunny:
My DD's birthday on Saturday & we are off to the coast for the weekend (should be packing now!!) ;)
Just got back from a week in Scotland (about 2 weeks ago) stayed at a place called cambo estate in the east wing! You can see there web site if you type cambo estate in yahoo search, gotto go & pack great to hear from you take care Tracey XX :wave2:

I just added a thread b/c I booked my cruise for 11/27/05 - 4 nt. And I will be taking my 9 month old and 3 yr old. I'm just really nervous about all of us getting seasick, especially the kids. Did you have any problems? They also mentioned that the baby formula needs to be a new container??

I may be on it - right now I am debating if my 9 month old and 3 yr old are too young for this. My major concern is seasickness though...I read the posts on remedies and I will definitely ask my doctor for recommendations as well.
