11/27/04 the sequel.....

Diane--I kept the same outfit this year. I had a bonnet that looked better with the Tinker Bell outfit, but I'm getting a little more horizontally challenged in the tummy and the Tinker Bell outfit scared the kids. Once again this year the music director wasn't sure which section to put me in the Easter choir. I tried my best falsetto voice but he said I would be so much more valuable if I sat near the front and kept a seat warm in case anyone in the choir got cold. You think he was just trying to get rid of me?

Darci--Let me know if Curt has any hints on things we should know about that area. I guess I look at sizes of towns compared to Indianapolis. I'm guessing the Snow White outfit should be a clincher at the interview.............or not.

I talked to my Curt. His comment was it was gorgous up there. That was as far as we got before we got interrupted by kids. I haven't been there much, but as I remember it is a neat town!

Its my mum & dads 40th wedding aniversery is on Saturday (2nd) & i think were going out for a meal & Gary & i will announce the wedding to them then, my dad will need a drink to get over the shock!!!

Darci - cant you come to Clearwater for the weekend??? I'll try to arrange the day to be on a saturday, if it would help you guys to come! Would love you all to be there, but i will understand if its too close to your holiday

Thank you, Tracey! I may have to take you up on that. I've never been in a wedding as a bridesmaid and the last outdoor wedding I sang at Animal Control showed up because neighbors thought a dog had been injured! It could be fun...or at least interesting!

Hi Amanda - glad to see you are still here. I was getting worried because you hadn't posted in a while. But I'm guessing you're also very active on the threads for your next cruise ... or is it next 2 cruises?

Tracy - UMMM ... you aren't going to let Curt sing at your wedding are you? While I have never heard him sing it just doesn't seem the best idea to have a man dressed as snow white singing like a wounded dog. But, I could be wrong.

Everyone - I know you'll be excited for me about our Carnival Cruise UPGRADE. My friends at home just wouldn't understand. We booked an Inside Guarantee (3 rooms for family). We never care much about the room - would rather take more vacations than pay for better rooms. BUT ... we got upgraded to an Outside cabin and I am SOOOOOOO excited.
We'll have LIGHT in the room and I'll know when it's morning ... LOL. When I called Carnival to confirm what I thought I was seeing the Carnival Lady was amazed at the upgrade - she said that never happens (inside to outside). Anyway ... we have 5 weeks until the crulse. NOT the same as cruising with you guys (I think there are 10 people on our thread and 3 are my family). But I certainly need a vacation!!!

Amanda ... You are WORSE than me!!! I have 2 cruises planned and I thought that was bad. Oh, and I also have a week at a lake in upstate New York for August. YES ... I live for my vacations!!

I got my Mom on the Cruise Critic board for our Carnival cruise. She is so excited to "meet" people before the cruise and thinks it is so cool. But she has no idea what a real (e.g. Disney) thread is like. We have 8 posters and some of them have only written once or twice. Oh well ... if I can talk them into joining us on our next Magic cruise she will be overwhelmed with our thread.

Well guys, my parents now know about the wedding, so it looks like its now official!!
Mum cried when we told them, & it looks like mum & dad are now coming with us! My grandad was also with us when we told them (if you remember my grandmother pased away in September) & mum wants him to come too!
I'd love him to be there but i'm worried it would be too much, hes 80 & its a 9 hour flight & i dont think he'd be into the theme parks! So we will have to see on that one! I've been trying to talk mum & dad into going to Disney for years but dad wasnt bothered but now he wants to make sure Gary doesnt run off!!!
My grandmother had an eternity ring that i always loved - a gold band with diamonds all the way round it, & she always said i couldnt have it until Gary & i got married so i could have it as my wedding ring, & grandad said last night i could have it, so it will feel like my grandma will be there when we do get married
Amanda & Diane - i'm soooo jealous you guys have all those cruises lined up!
I'm applying for a new job & if i get it, i will be earning loads more, so you never know i may get one yet!!

Tracey--that's exciting news! It sounds like the Disney magic may already be working and that everyone will be able to be at the wedding!

I believe Diane may be right. I don't want to scare your guests or attract wild animals to your wedding who think I'm in distress.

Amanda--I interviewed by phone last week with the CEO, CFO and HR Director and should hear something this week as to whether they want me to come out and interview in person. So I'm kind of on hold until then.

I've just wrote out my application for the job i'm applying for & i must say i'm pretty impressed with it - i didnt realise how much i have learnt & done over the last 2 years!! And i've finally finished my college work Just got to wait until its all checked & signed off

Kim - kids come out with the funniest things

On a more sad note, my brother came home from Florida on Saturday, & got the news of our wedding & that i really want them there but his oldest daughter had a liver transplant when she was 7 (shes 14 now) & they were told that a faulty gene had caused the liver problem & that their younger daughter also has this faulty gene, but has not yet needed a transplant as she was younger & has been on medication & monitered over the years. But when they got home there was a letter waiting to say his younger DD now aged 10) has to go into hospital next week for a liver biopsy, endoscopy & blood tests, We are not sure if this is a routine check (shes not had this done since she was a baby) or because they've found something from her last hospital visit. So i'm jusy praying they dont have to go through it all again Its a case of wait & see for now!

Kim--that is very, very funny! It is one of the great joys of having children--you never know what they are going to say or how they are going to interpret something.

I'll be in Chicago Friday for a meeting. Unfortunately I have to work until 5 p.m. Thursday, so I won't make it to my motel until 9 or 10:00.

Tracey--I have no idea when I will know something for sure. I'm hoping to hear something in the next day or so.

So do I! I posted on the 11/25/06 one just to say I was jealous. As far as the job, I don't know. I've got six children to think about as well as aging parents which we're only 150 miles from now, but would be over 500 miles from in Iowa. You're right--probably everyone else is out posting for their next cruise. But you've got a wedding to think about, so there are important happenings with you as well! Have a great weekend!
