11/27/04 the sequel.....

JesseGirl -

What a way to celebrate your 16th birthday!!! I'll be sure to wish you a happy one as we'll be 3 doors down from you guys - on #6636.

Millie

You all will think we are crazy, we (DH, DD(3)) just got back from the Oct 18th Jeanne Cruise. We wanted to book something this year for the holidays and got lucky on Disney for the Nov 27th. It also helped to have the 50% off due to our rough day at sea and early return.

I was so bummed to miss CC and I am hoping we make it there this cruise.

We are so looking forward to getting into the holiday spirit.
It's going to be wierd because we just got back!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!:earsgirl:

qofhearts - that's great you can cruise again so soon!

Welcome to our cruise meet! Do you know your cabin # yet?

I forgot to put that my parents 20th wedding Ann. was in june but we are celabrateing on the cruise.:chat:

No room number yet, we are on deck five in one of the navigator verandas back of the boat, I guess that limits it!

I have been having so much fun reading what you all have been writing over the last year or so. My DH thinks I'm crazy so its fun to see others so excited about the trip. Went and found some toys for the plane and sand toys for my son and getting so excited. Can't wait to meet everyone !!

I am a very happy girl this afternoon! My DS's last football game is going to be November 20th - we were supposed to be driving to Orlando then and checking into Port Orleans for a couple of days before moving over to Royal Pacific. Well we can't miss his first playoff can we? I got tickets on Delta - for $132.20 round trip for each of us. Isn't that great? now I have changed my reservation for one night at the contempary resort. We land in Orlando at 7.30 am - so we will be able to head right over to the parks. What is one more day of overtime vs driving 10 long hours to Orlando? I say show me the overtime! I also got a great rate with a rental car and now I don't have to worry about wear and tear on our car or the ants at the port. :earsgirl:

My DH used to mock me for packing so early ... and for my many lists (YES .. I am a list person). He doesn't wait until the last minute any more ... and I'll tell you why, but don't tell him I told.

On one of our cruises a few years ago he forgot to pack his pants ... YUP - his pants. They were hanging in the closet at home - great place for them. Do you think I was a little upset? As it turned out, he had his jeans (first and last night were casual on that ship) and the pants to his suit. It turned out "ok" - with different shirts and the fact that he only had the pants on for a couple of hours each night, but certainly wouldn't have been our first choice.

Diane

I know what you mean. My DH makes fun of me for spending time on the boards too. But, I know that he enjoys the time we've saved and the great tips we've gotten as a result.

On our first trip to WDW he made fun of me for wanting to pack early and have everything ready. He waited until the last minute and ended up leaving an entire suitcase home because he was up all night the night before and did not plan ahead. Our dogsitter arranged for the luggage to be sent FedEx, but it was expensive and for the first 3 days of our trip the kids had to wear the same outfit. Luckily we were staying at the Boardwalk Villas and our room had a washer and dryer!!! We all still look at those pictures and remember the Disney trip where the kids had "uniforms" LOL!! I guess it goes without saying that he dosen't make fun of me when I have the suitcases out a month early!!!!:D

Gailyn

Your packing stories are funny. I tell my DH not to make any comments since I do all the packing for all of us which is a lot of work. Is there a pirate night on the ship? Is anyone bringing pirate costumes for their kids?
Kim

There is a pirate night, on our last cruise in Oct. some people dressed up, others didn't. We wore island inspired outfits (tropical) theme and fit in pretty well.

:teeth:
Wow, cant believe i've only been away a few days, i've just finished catching up over the last 4 pages!
Sorry i've got to share my excitment 5 WEEKS TODAY:Pinkbounc
& we will be heading to Disney:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sorry if i sound dumb, but how do you play room tag????
I will have a go at making mickey heads - am i making them for badges, does it matter what colour they are??
Not started packing yet, but started shopping, brought sun cream, toiletries & some clothes, i will have to get organised as we have stuff all over the place!!
I'm wearing knee length dresses for formal & semi formal night, ones cream & floaty with a few sequins & ones pink & sparkly ones black, ones blue, ones pink satin.... i think every night will be formal for me, i love to dress up. DH has been looking at tuxes, which is a shock, i thought he would never go near one!
DD has a lovely cream dress from when she was a bridemaid, just hoping it still fits. I could waffle on all night, cant wait to meet up:wave2:

Tracey .... I'm going to hang some Lime Green Mickey Heads on our carry ons (for Saturday), do a couple magnets for the door and maybe some to wear (need to find something like velcro). I hope everyone will have them at least the first day so we can spot each other.

Doubloon Sailers..... did you make your reservations? Did you get any kind of confirmation in the mail?

Diane

I just bought us all some cheap hats(50cents at walmart) and am going to put the mickey heads on those. Now I have to figure out how I am going to get my husband to wear one.

Thinking about pulling out the suitcases tomorrow:earsgirl: Do you think it can come any sooner? I have alot to do before we go but it would be nice. I know we need a garment bag for dresses and suits. Don't know where a good place to look for one of those are. I don't know if I read it on these boards or the passporter to send out all your dresses/dressshirts etc to get pressed when you get on the ship. I have to admit - packing is not my forte.....................this is probably a good idea - maybe I don't need a garment bag after all. For all of you that are spending a few days before the cruise visiting parks - I am thinking about separate bags for cruise/precruise. Not sure how that will work out but there is always hope right? Well everyone have an awesome weekend - looks like we are going to have perfect weather here in NC.

OK, I have a dumb question, what is "room tag"??? I'm happy to play, but I have no idea what it is! I have pulled out the suitcases and I too think that I'll do a small pre-cruise bag so that we don't have to open the "big" luggage until we get on the ship.

I went to Home Depot and picked up a supply of lime green Mickey heads to put on our carry ons. I have a total lack of imagination about what else to do with them!!! I also printed out a thread about magnetic door signs which sounds like fun. Maybe I can talk DH into doing that!

I printed out the thread on "best packing tips part I and II" and have made some notes of things to buy. Does anyone know if there's another packing thread? I'm nervous about packing too much or worse yet, too little!!!!

Someone mentioned that they were going to go to the party store to stock up on a few tropical items and pirate things. I thought that was a great idea! Maybe I can even find something fun for the door!!

DS, Matthew, was Capt. Hook last year and his pirate costume still fits, so he can wear that on pirate/tropical night if he wants. DD Nicole can wear a sun dress.

DD has a new Cinderella costume for Halloween this year. If she dosen't trash it before the cruise, I'll pack it. For the experienced cruisers, when would she wear this costume???? She really loves it and wants to take it with her.

For formal night, I'm packing a long black "Chico's" skirt and beaded jacket and top, semi-formal night- same black skirt and another jacket. I just went to Nordstrom and looked at their sale rack of formal gowns. Nothing great. I'll keep looking. I also tried on bathing suits and that scared the X@#%*@ out of me LOL!!!!

DH has a tuxedo, but I don't know if he's going to bring it. I have no idea what DS Matthew will wear??? He doesn't own a suit. Maybe he will wear black slacks and a shirt and vest unless I find a reasonably priced suit. Nicole will wear a holiday dress of some sort.

I've not booked the REAS package yet because I still can't figure out what night to go to Palo and what dinner rotation to request.

I think I'll ask for the PLA rotation to be in Luminers on formal night and Parrot Cay for Tropical night and book Palo on Thurs or Fri. I would like to go to Palo on Wednesday, but I read that the Character Breakfast for the PLA rotation is on Thursday which might interfere with a relaxing room service breakfast included with the REAS package. Any thoughts about this???

JesseGirl and Millie- we are right down the hall from you in 6622!

Amanda and Diane, I sent you a PM about pen pals. If anyone else has a DD or DS wanting a pen pal, my kids would love it. DD just turned 7 and DS is 5!!!

Have a great weekend! Only 7 more weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Oops, I forgot to mention that we have the early dinner seating and that we've booked the Dolphin & Stingray Encounter on St. Marten and the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel (12:15pm) on St. Thomas.

Also, I sent a pm to Kim about a pen pal and to Darci with a scrapbook question.

Popovich--The "best packing tips I and II" is a great list. I also went to http://www.geocities.com/Calgon1/Ultimate Packing List.html Between the two (and a few "customized" additions), I think've managed a list of what we'll need. Now I can obsess over the list right up to the time we pull out of the driveway, then I can start obsessing about what's in the suitcases!

Room tag ... someone started this a few cruises ago. Seems they had a large Mickey Head magnet. Put it on the door of another DISer. That person signed it and put it on another DISer's door ... TAG you're it. Sounds like fun.

We also pack a separate suitcase for before cruise. But we only have 1 night so it's pretty easy. Just remember to pack some warmer closes (sweaters, jeans) in that suitcase. It was very cold last year at sail away during the same week.

Yes .... 7 weeks from today. Yesterday my DH asked how many days. When the number didn't just fly out of my mouth he was very surprised!!! I had to think for a minute.
